“The Bigger They Are” by LadyExcalibur2010 1

Sergeant Major Edward Cullen is finally coming home stateside from his last tour of duty overseas and contemplating whether he should sign up for another one. After twenty years in the military and his age pushing forty, was he as ready as he thought for a change of pace? On the other hand, his entire life thus far has been spent in tents and the military way... As he is contemplating these options, a big rock suddenly comes out of nowhere and hits his windshield as he driving under an overpass. Infuriated, he pulls over, chases the culprit through the woods and collars him, finding out that the rock was in fact thrown by a very big and angry fourteen year old Emmett James, son of one Bella James. Edward is wondering what kind of Medusa-headed woman would have that kind of delinquent for a son; little did he know he was so wrong...

When he pulls up to the house with Emmett, three other boys tumble out of the front door and Edward starts wondering what kind of mess he really got himself into. But when their mom steps out of the door to talk with him, this big ol’ veteran army man right about falls to his knees in shock. How did these four boys come from this petite beauty? She barely comes up to his shoulder, with slender beautiful body, long brown hair and beautiful soulful eyes.  But the very same beauty seems to gone through a world of hardships raising four rambunctious boys on her own due to the death of her late husband, Mac; who had also been in the army. As Edward observes her while they talk, he notices the lines of fatigue that did not seem to belong on her beautiful face and suddenly feels the urge to help her alleviate these burdens. Sergeant Cullen, confirmed bachelor, has feelings stirring inside for this woman that he has never felt before. Even though he internally argues with himself that he doesn’t do commitment, it was like the gauntlet was thrown down for him when he met Bella. Is Edward man enough to step in and pick up where Mac left off and make this family whole again? Will the boys even want him to?

The Bigger They Are is written in EPOV and is an absolutely beautiful, heartwarming fanfiction by the very talented LadyExcalibur. The writing is flawless and the pacing is perfect on this amazing journey as Edward gradually works himself into their lives and grows to know, love and win over every one of these boys; each in their own unique way. Witness their characters develop and grow! In the process, of course, he slowly woos Bella right off her feet. I mean, who can resist a strong, sexy Sergeantward? What a gem this man is and you, too, will be yearning and swooning right along with her! It’s also witty and humorous, with Edward having many conversations with his - um, ‘manhood’ as he works through dilemmas that will have you chuckling! What a delight to read that will keep you hitting ‘next’, ‘next’ and ‘next’! There is also companion piece that accompanies this including different POVs called, The Harder They Fall.

The Bigger They Are consists of 78 chapters and a total of 304,177 words. It is rated M for language and sexual activities.

"A Ilha do Amor" by tufano79 1

(banner made by beegurl13)

Bella is five minutes away from walking down the aisle when she receives a very abrupt breakup text from her fiancé, Tyler, saying that he can't marry her because he's in love with someone else - his roommate, Eric! Bella’s over-the-top reaction is understandable but very entertaining as her inner ranting is quite humorous. She commiserates with her bridesmaids who quickly rally behind her and convince her to go ahead with the prepaid three week honeymoon trip to a resort island off Rio, even if it's minus the groom; she definitely deserves some relaxing and fun time to herself. They pack her suitcase and put her on the plane to 'A Ilha do Amor', a.k.a The Island of Love, with instructions to call it a ‘singlemoon’ and with encouragement to find herself a Brazilian hottie to hook up with as a distraction when she gets there. While on the layover between flights, she meets a vivacious young woman named Alice who strikes up a conversation with her, which proves to be a turning point in Bella's trip. They realize they are on the same flight and heading to the same resort which, coincidentally, Alice’s family owns and operates. Alice describes her family members, including her middle brother, Edward, who is a brilliant accountant in charge of all the business decisions. However, Alice advises her to steer clear of the "douche" as he has a tendency to sleep his way through the female guest list without a second thought. Little does Bella know what a challenge that will prove to be!

Yes, Edward is pretty disgusting at first as he clearly has no respect for the women he has been with or himself and distances himself from any emotional attachments. He is an arrogant and presumptuous womanizer and you will really want to inflict him with some bodily harm! But when he sets his eyes on the stunning new petite brunette guest who just arrived at the resort and who wants absolutely nothing to do with him, he is completely thrown off guard since he is not used to rejection. He is puzzled because he gets a strange feeling around her like he has felt for no other woman. After repeated rejections and all out avoidance from Bella, her heated accusations strike a nerve and he starts to question his lifestyle and what he is doing. Is that all he truly wants in his life...fleeting gratification from meaningless, faceless hook-ups? Can he possibly redeem himself in the eyes of his family...and her? It will make you wonder what happened to this man in the past that made him so calloused and jaded. Enjoy experiencing his character evolve as his story emerges!

If you could use some laughs and appreciate witty banter, tune in for all the hilarity and adventure as tufano79 takes you on a wild tropical roller coaster journey with these two stubborn individuals. You can feel the tension and passion build as they circle around and size each other up, trying to fight the undeniable attraction, trying unsuccessfully to justify all the reasons this can't work; but who rediscover themselves and finally, each other! The story is very engaging and quick paced right from the beginning with all kinds of fun in the sun, a wonderful supporting cast, a bit of suspense and drama, and yes - ultimately - the hot-as-hellfire romance with lemons that will have you self-combusting into thin air. In fact, you might need use of a fan, an ice cold drink or other devices to cool off as you read! Don't miss out on this epic page-turner!

A Ilha do Amor consists of 38 chapters and 298,949 words. Rated MA for language and sexy smut.

"Through the Flames" by SparklingTwilight 0

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Romy)

Firefighters are held in the utmost esteem in our society; our modern-day heroes ready to put their lives on the line to protect any living thing in harm’s way. Lieutenant Edward Cullen is one of these men - the eldest son in a family of firefighters, along with his two younger brothers and his father who is the Fire Chief. At a glance, this family is the epitome of pillars of the community, but as we get a closer look behind the scenes, we find a highly dysfunctional group of members instead. Edward has always been the hard-working, responsible one and everyone in the family automatically has the highest expectations of him; they look to him to solve all their problems or pick up their slack and put way too much pressure on him. Carlisle expects him to run the station in his absence, pick up extra shifts and lays the heavy responsibility of watching out for the safety of his irresponsible brothers on his shift. The brothers turn to Edward for financial help when they haven’t managed their money or gambled it away and Edward bails them out. Yet, they never express gratitude or offer to pay him back. Not one of them put his needs before their own. That is, until the night he ran into a complete structure fire against orders to search for and rescue one young lady named Bella, who was reported missing according to her friends.

Struggling against the flames and collapsing building, he finally locates her, unconscious from smoke inhalation, gives her his oxygen mask and jacket and almost makes it back to the entrance when he feels the floor begin to give way under him. In a last ditch effort to save her, he throws her towards the door yelling, “Grab her!” as he plummets into the basement's darkness and the building collapses on him. When Bella regains consciousness in the hospital, the events of her accident replay back in her mind and she immediately wants to go see the firefighter that risked his life for her, especially since Edward remains unconscious in the ICU. Someone needs to be there for him to help shoulder the weight of the pain he suffers from constantly, the hardships of adjusting to being dependent and needing physical therapy, the fear of the possibility of being permanently disabled, and that person would be her because in her mind she owed him a debt of gratitude. His bravery had given her the chance to live out her life and find happiness, and with any luck, she would be able to give him the same chance.

TtF comes with heart fail and multiple tissue warnings, yet a wonderfully developed and mind-blowing plot. SparklingTwilight superbly depicts how the selfless but near-fatal act of one brave firefighter choosing someone else's life over his own, brings one troubled family to their knees; but how that event is a catalyst for changes and healing for both Edward and his family members. The author takes you on an intense journey of a man who had achieving his goals within reach, but because of who he is and a split second decision, he agonizingly almost lost it all. Will he ever be able to walk again after his back injury? Will he ever think beyond his own pain and difficulties to see the sacrifices Bella makes; how she is always there to meet his every need, calm his fears and offer words of encouragement? TtF is indeed a slow agonizing burn, but so worth it in the end. Don't miss out on this compelling story, but maybe have a box of tissues handy!

Through the Flames has 41 chapters with 200,140 words. The story is rated M for themes, language and sexual situations.

Diary of An Ugly Girl by Anton M 1

Posted by KatHat
(banner by Romy)

This amazing story by Anton M is set up as insanely hilarious entries to a seventeen year old Bella’s diary where her main ongoing concern is her appearance. She considers herself to be ‘ugly’-because apparently that was ingrained into her at an early age by bullies as well as her mother - as she constantly, although humorously, describes and berates her appearance throughout the story. You will sometimes hear her comparing herself to ‘fortunate’ girls, and it goes without saying that she considers herself unfortunate. She is, however, snarky, sarcastic, and witty and thus projects an outward confidence in the unique way she dresses, her love of drama class among other things, and her outrageous interactions with her big brother, Emmett.

Her junior year, Edward moves to town and starts school with them. Of course being handsome and athletic, he has instant admirers and is a shoe-in with the ‘it’ crowd. When he sits down at Bella’s lab table in science, she assures him it is pretty much social suicide to talk to her. After listening to some of her crazy ranting, he says, “You are...something else.” She pretty much assures Edward that she'd rather be the latter "else" and that she is not a person to be considered at if he was looking for "normal". But she gets caught off guard when Edward responds to her comment by saying that he is simply in need of a friend, not normalcy. After they accidentally get locked inside the school auditorium overnight after a drama practice, their friendship truly begins and the fast-paced give and take of their banter will knock your socks off as you witness the beginning of the epic journey of their relationship.

I was immediately hooked and found this to be a refreshingly unique story filled with consistent humor from Bella's thoughts and actions. But it becomes increasingly heart-wrenching as we realize it is mostly a coping mechanism for deep-seated insecurities and a hidden pain regarding Bella's past. What happened back in middle school that led her to be what she is now? What further obstacles will she have to overcome? The fanfiction not only addresses the against-the-odds journey of one remarkable young woman to search, create and develop her own identity - above and beyond what she perceives as her appearance; but she also finds her voice to address social injustices and encourages others to stand up as well, which makes the story all the more realistic in its overall plot. Right next to her in this journey is an equally remarkable young man that we watch evolve from friend, to a best friend and then more. DoaUG has left a lasting impact on me. Absolutely magnificent!

Diary of An Ugly Girl has 26 chapters with 289,228 words. It is rated M for language and sexual situations.

"Counsel" by Write Sisters 1

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Romy)

Edward is a formidable, ruthless prosecutor in the courtroom, possibly the best ADA in the District Attorney’s office. He is driven to seek justice by a devastating childhood that involved poverty, neglect and witnessing the premature death of his mother. His merciless approach to litigation has earned him the name Counsel by those he works with, and bastard or worse by the criminals he prosecutes. Of course women are naturally drawn to him, not only because of his dominating well-publicized persona in the courtroom, but also because he is extremely good looking. Edward however, has little time, patience or interest in a relationship with these superficial and pretentious women. The obstacles he has had to overcome to get him to where he is in this point in his life have left him uncaring behind his thick, protective, professional shell, but you will come to find out there is so much more to this seemingly arrogant man.

Within a few hours time, his axis is thrown off kilter by a series of events. His so-called live-in girlfriend has had enough of his inattentive ways and packs up and leaves, but he can’t find it in himself to care. He also finds out via the news that his former best friend, now Senator Jasper Whitlock, has been alleged with using a high dollar escort service and maybe more. Then, some woman rear ends his new Mercedes at a stop light because she said she was reaching for her phone, she has the audacity to smart off at him as he is chastising her, and to top it all off, he finds out later she gave him a bogus insurance number and a fictitious name of ‘B. Cygnet’. All he can discern from her graceful movements as she exits her car and the way she is dressed is that she must be a dancer. Of course you can probably figure out that was Bella. She is pretty much an enigma for the first part of the story, but as her character and story are slowly revealed, we find that despite circumstances that forced her to compromise her integrity, there is a lot more to her than first meets the eye. Just hang in there with her before you send the jury out to judge her!

Counsel is brilliantly written by Write Sisters as an intense keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat action thriller both in and out of the courtroom, with coordinated efforts between the DA’s office and the Boston PD to find evidence and round up suspects in a number of high profile criminal cases. The multiple fragments of the plot are expertly interwoven and gradually revealed with stunning precision and clarity. Can they find enough convincing evidence and missing key witnesses to convince to jury in each case? Will anything ever change the repulsion and animosity between the counsel and Bella: a key witness for the prosecution and alleged escort? A couple of the pairings are non-canon and heads up if you are an American reader: although the setting for this story is in Boston, MA, USA, the author is Aussie and often uses the old English spellings and terms. This was overall a magnificent story and I could not put it down. It also has a companion fic, Cygnet, which tells Bella’s story.

Counsel has 56 chapters with a total of 330,532 words. It is rated MA for themes, language and sexual situations.

"Marriage and other Catastrophes" by Angel-Miyu 1

Posted by
(banner made by Bethany)

Bella Swan thought she had escaped every tie she had to high society, and her family. She refused to go to the top schools her family wanted her to go to, majored in a less than desirable degree, and built her own publishing house. She was breaking the binds, and they didn't like it. Unfortunately for Bella, her grandfather had been the person who financed the start of Phoenix, and would stop at nothing to get his way. So, when she was told she must marry a stranger by the name of Edward Cullen, she outright refused. Well, until said grandfather threatened the publishing house she had worked for years to make successful. She found herself backed to a corner and, against her own desires, she agreed. She didn't want to marry for any other reason besides love, and she certainly didn't want to marry so her family could get access to the better and wealthier social circles in Boston.

Edward Cullen, on the other hand, was content with his shallow relationship with Tanya Denali. He and Bella had agreed, while discussing their prenuptial agreement, that Edward could maintain his relationship with Tanya as long as he was totally discreet and out of the public eye.  He agreed, not expecting to be charmed by this witty beauty. As a more personal relationship with his wife began to develop, and work overtook most of their time, Edward didn't get to spend as much time with his mistress as she would have liked. Tanya, who needed more of Edward's attention, began using more extreme tactics in order to get a reaction. Unfortunately for her, she only received negative attention from Edward, his wife, and his family in return. Even after Edward decided to break things of with Tanya, and chose to focus on building a relationship, there would always be forces trying to tear this couple apart.

Marriage and other Catastrophes has a wonderful plot, but there are many errors in grammar that can be distracting to some readers - I know I was tempted (more than once) to stop reading, but was so intrigued with the plot that I just had to finish. MaoC has moments where, as a reader, you're bound to be exasperated, laughing, and maybe even shedding some tears. Angel-Miyu has done a great job portraying Bella as such an independent woman, who refuses to take part of the lifestyle her family carries. Edward has his moments, as does every character - every person. There are times, when reading from his view, where the reader will likely want to punch him (*raises hand*) and shake some sense into him. There are many twists and turns in this story, and all loose ties come together in the end. Plus, there are plenty of lemons which will satisfy any reader.

Marriage and other Catastrophes consists of 38 chapters and 207,234 words. The story is rated M for foul language, violence, and lemons.

"Hot Commodity" by blueeyedcherry 0

Posted by
(banner made by Mina)

Edward Cullen is a well-known young, wealthy, and successful Wall Street stockbroker - and with his rising fame, came arrogance and more than willing women. In short, he's used to getting what and who he wants. He tries to seduce Bella Swan into his bed at a private event but is rejected, leaving him angry and his suit drenched in champagne. Out of spite, he and Jasper - his best friend and wing-man - make a bet: Edward has to make Bella fall in love with him and, in return, he'll receive Jasper's house in the Hamptons. What's the harm, right? As part of his plan, he hires Bella to handle the PR for his upcoming book and though she's resistant at first, she soon admits it's in her career's best interest to take him on as a client. Part of him expected her to be an easy conquest, but he finds that she's far from it...

He forms a friendship with Bella as part of his plan but what he doesn't expect, is to find himself falling for her in the process. With so much to do for Edward's book, they spend most of their time together and become closer to one another than they thought possible - to the point that Bella agrees to date Edward exclusively. Everything is going smoothly for a while, and the couple's blissfully happy. Unfortunately, secrets always have a way of getting out. Instead of following Jasper's advice and coming clean to Bella, he just calls off the bet but remains quiet about it. Well, until Bella's best friends find out about it and refuse to hide it from her - but, even then, he won't budge so her girlfriends take matters into their own hands and spill. With Bella's devastation on his shoulders, can Edward find it in him to tell her the truth and fix the cracks in their relationship?

I had read the first chapter of Hot Commodity while it was still a work in progress but, because I'm so impatient when it comes to waiting for updates, I chose to wait until it was complete before starting it. It would be an understatement to say it was well worth the wait. Be warned: Hot Commodity is a slow burn and has a healthy dose of angst - though not overwhelmingly so. This is a story where you're likely to find yourself bursting out laughing and wanting to pull your hair out, at the same time. I personally found Edward's initial attitude towards women disgusting, but it's something that changes with time as the story continues. The 34 chapters in this story fly by - at least they did for me. I really enjoyed it and hold it high on my list. It's beautifully written, has little to no grammatical errors, and will have you wanting more!

Hot Commodity consists of 34 chapters and 211,461 words; it's rated M for foul language and lemons galore.

"In Plain Sight" by Dishie 3

Posted by
(banner by Bethany)

At the tender age of 12, Bella Swan lost both her parents as well as her eye-sight in a tragic car accident. Now 24, the young lady has learned around her ways and lives contently with her German Shepherd and best companion, Conrad, by her side. She is a one-of-a-kind woman who doesn't complain about her loss of sight much, and instead is proud of her personality. Unfortunately though, that didn't mean she let a lot of people close to her, especially men who were often judgmental. But she has a secret crush on the very famous Dr. Edward Cullen, who steps into the very same café that she is in, for his morning espresso. His strong, manly scent always made Bella wish she could see him. Well, lucky and unknown to her, Edward too had been noticing this all too familiar woman sitting in a corner of the café with her dog every morning. It isn't very long before he finally decides to man up and approach her, wanting to know her more. It was no surprise to him that she was blind - her helper dog being one of his hints, but he also specialized in eye surgeries for the blind, so he knew what he was looking out for. Will the two be able to hit it off and be in a relationship? Is it possible for Bella to regain her eyesight back with the help of Edward?

Let me start off by saying that this story is not as angsty as you would think. In contrast, it is a perfect mix of fluff, romance, and some drama that will keep your eyes on the story. So don't be hesitant to read this wonderful fanfiction. As a matter of fact, Dishie plans on pulling this story from fanfiction.net on September 1st, so get your hands on it now before it is too late! You will find yourself loving Doctorward in this particular story - don't we all? - as he maneuvers his way around different types of surgeries and as he gets the guts to finally ask Bella out. We realize from the very beginning that both have the hots for each other, so it's just a matter of some patience on our part before we see exactly that unraveling before our eyes. I was also very fond of Bella in this story, particularly because Dishie made her a strong character despite her blindness - and that is exactly how it should be. No matter what, Bella always had a smile upon her face and she even held a successful career as a vocalist for audio books. Join Edward and Bella, and lovely Conrad, on this beautiful journey of love! Read it before it's too late - remember, by September 1st!

In Plain Sight consists of 35 chapters and a total of 237,813 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual content.

"Lose The One You Love" by Discordia81 2

Posted by
(banner made by Mina)

After her long-term boyfriend breaks up with her, San Francisco lawyer Bella Swan goes into a deep depression. She blames herself for the split and begins losing herself in a string of one night strands, convincing herself she will never find love again in the process. When she makes her regular visit to her friend Leah's bar one day, she doesn't expect for this bronze-haired man sitting next to her to begin a conversation. What surprises her even more is that she—for the life of her—cannot stop looking at him and admiring his looks: a chiseled jaw, long eyelashes, wild hair, and sharp greyish-blue eyes. It doesn't help that his voice is velvet smooth when he introduces himself as Edward and orders a Macallan twenty-five—he’s rich too. When Bella gets a little too drunk—in more than one way—Edward offers to drive the brown-eyed, yet broken beauty back to her house. The attraction is mutual, but Edward finds himself trying to break through the shell that Bella has created around herself and not be just another faceless man for her. He is determined to make Bella his in every way, but how much patience will that take? Will Bella ever see the man in front of her and believe that she can love, even more than before, again?

Lose the One You Love is a fabulous story that will wrench your heart in many ways! One thing I should start by saying is that the characters are very OOC in this fic, as you can tell by Edward's grey-blue eyes and Bella's depressive one-night stands but the different characters are amazingly portrayed by Discordia81. She makes the reader fall in love with them with her detailed writing style. I absolutely adored Edward in this story; he is the epitome of the perfect man out there, one who is willing to build the fire within you and one who is willing to wait as long as it takes for you to love him back. In addition, he is a professional museum curator in this fanfiction, which only adds to his sexiness because of all his artistic knowledge. The entire story is told in Bella's perspective, so the initial few chapters are pretty hard to get through because you can literally feel her grief and loneliness. But as the story progresses, Discordia81 manages to let the readers see how Bella unravels from her shell and begins to realize who she really loves with the help of Edward. And did I mention the lemons? Because they are so toe-curling that you will definitely be hooked to the story if you aren't already by the plot! A MUST read story!

Lose The One You Love consists of 46 chapters and a total of 225,348 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual content.

"Ruthless and Ivory" by MujerN 0

Posted by
(banner made by time_lights)

"She finds every corpse he hides. She follows every trail he leaves behind. A ribbon. A clue. A crime. She doesn't know he'll do anything to keep her alive."  ~ MujerN

Known as the Red Ribbon Assassin, Edward Masen is adept at what he does—killing. With his lucky gun, Ivory, by his side and his symbolic red ribbon that he leaves behind at his every crime, Edward knows exactly what he is doing and that he can never be caught. But when journalist Bella Swan happens to find said ribbon at one of the crime scenes, she knows it's a huge deal for her since she will be able to take a lead on the assassin's case. The question is: how will that sole clue help her in tracking him down? Well, it turns out that she doesn't have to, because he already seems to know her. When a certain attack by an old friend goes wrong, it's the green-eyed man with his pockets full of the all-too-familiar red ribbon that saves her from going down in ashes. Oddly enough, she feels comforted in the arms of this strange man...

When Bella opens her eyes, she finds herself in a completely unknown place and trapped with three unfamiliar faces staring down at her: Dr. Carlisle Cullen, his daughter, Alice Cullen, and her “kidnapper,” Edward. After a brief introduction, Bella is more than panicked about the entire situation and it does not help that the assassin is put in charge of keeping tabs on her at all times. Unfortunately for Bella, she does not realize that the people whom she fears are actually the people that want to protect her. It takes a while before she gets used to the idea of this Adonis of a killer, with a tattoo of vines running up his neck, taking care of her. But there are still many questions unanswered in her mind. Why was Edward in this “business” and what does it involve? How did they know her and why do they claim to protect her? And most of all, why was she finding herself falling dangerously in love with Edward Masen?

I cannot emphasize enough on how much I adore this story! I have been around in the Twilight Fandom for over five years now and have read over four hundred fanfictions, but Ruthless and Ivory is definitely in my top favorite five list. MujerN has weaved together such an amazing story that will raise goosebumps and curl your toes with every single chapter. This story is a continuation from the author's one shot Red Ribbon, and I am so very thankful to her that she decided to make a whole story out of it. The two paragraphs above don't even begin to describe this roller-coaster. I could write pages about it, but I don't want to reveal or spoil anything within this fabulous plot. Each chapter will have you gasping and will pull out an emotion within that you didn’t know was possible for such a premise! The story's unexpected twists all lead up to one main plot-line perfectly mid-way through the story, and from then on the couple embark on an even more dangerous run to achieve their goal. Through all of the running, killing, and blood, there is also deep affection, love, and toe-curling lust—a phenomenal mix. Don't hesitate to read this story over and over again to fall in love with a hot, ruthless Tattward combined with a determined Bella fighting for their love. A MUST read!!!

Ruthless and Ivory is a HEA, consists of 33 chapters and a total of 256,786 words. The story is rated MA for some graphic scenes, foul language, and sexual content.

"Tip of the Spear" by Robsmyyummy Cabanaboy 1

(banner made by Mina)

As a casualty assistance calls officer (CACO) for the U.S. Marine Corps, Captain Edward Masen's job is to notify families who have lost their Marine. The hardest part of the job is seeing their faces fall and hearing their cries as he relays the information. Though he usually tries to be as sympathetic as possible, he doesn't get attached to any of them in order to uphold his own emotions. That is, until he meets an Isabella Newton on the doorstep of her North Carolina home while on call to inform her of her husband's death with a fellow officer. As devastated as the widowed beauty is by Mike's death, she manages to find comfort in Edward's friendship and is determined to stay positive for the sake of her unborn son. But, when one loss turns into two, she falls into a deep depression.

Fast-forward three years, Bella - literally - bumps into Captain Masen on a flight to Hickam Air Force base in Oahu. While on the plane, they catch up on what they've been up to since they last saw each other at Mike's funeral. Conversing during the flight, Edward finds out Bella has applied for transfer through the department of defense education activity (DODEA) for a first grade position in South Korea. Once landed in Oahu, they agree to travel the islands together until the summer is over and make the most of their time together. During their travels, they treat themselves to basic tourism: trying local cuisine, sightseeing, and meeting new people - both locals and Marine friends. As they get to know each other better, they both find themselves falling in love - and it seems as though their friends are mostly supportive of their growing relationship... Trouble follows the couple in paradise and, combined with the death of a close friend, Edward and Bella drift apart. Can they save their relationship before it's too late?

I can't express just how much I love this story. Tip of the Spear is truly a captivating story and takes the reader on the couple's journey through the islands. Told from both Edward's and Bella's point of views, Tip of the Spear sheds light on both perspectives in every situation. It's a slow burn, and the reader will enjoy every moment of the development of their relationship. This story is pretty well-known out there in the Twilight Fandom, and has even achieved multiple awards for the amazing plot! Personally, one of my favorite things about Robbsmyyummy Cabanaboy's uniqueness in writing is that she's able to write the smallest of details about a Marine's life within the fic, which captures the reader immediately because there is a relation of emotions to connect to. Tip of the Spear is an extremely well written fanfiction with a complex story love and will have you laughing, crying, and cheering for joy by the time it's over. A MUST read!

Tip of the Spear is complete. It consists of 36 chapters and 238,971 words. Rated M for foul language and mild sexual content.

"Truths, Lies, and Alibies" by eternally Addicted 0

Bella Swan is one of the best in her field: a first-class FBI profiler, who seems to be able to read people's minds like no other. What hardly anyone knows is that Bella is gifted. Just like her grandmother, she is able to sense people's feelings and emotions and can tell right away when someone is lying or purposely omitting important information. It is exactly what helped her bring serial killer James Reynolds behind bars, yet also what will change her life irrevocably. Because not long after Reynolds goes to prison, Bella begins to receive mysterious packages: apples with little "love notes". To her supervisor Emmett McCarty it becomes clear right away that the "gifts" must have been sent by Reynolds through an accomplice and he thinks Bella to be in grave danger. He is able to convince her to stay with her grandmother in Capri, Italy, for a couple of weeks until he manages to solve the problem. To make absolutely sure that Bella is protected, Emmett sends his old friend Edward Cullen, former soldier in the Army and now specialized in security, to keep an eye on her, but refrains from telling Bella...

And so, together with his best friend Jasper Whitlock, Edward flies to Capri and starts watching Bella. Though he knows he should keep a professional distance, one look at her is enough to put a spell on him. Edward is absolutely mesmerized by the brunette beauty living with her grandmother and cannot for the life of him stay away from her. So he approaches her on the beach and what follows are romantic and very intense days. Bella confides in Edward with regards to her gift and also admits that, for whatever reason, she is unable to read him. He takes in her confession in a stride and the two get closer and closer. However, when Bella finds a package of apples at her gran's house, their bubble bursts and all three have to fly back to Seattle. It is then that Bella starts doubting Edward's intentions and cannot ignore the coincidence that the hideout is "found" just shortly after she met the bronze-haired adonis. Is he the accomplice of James Reynolds?

In this story, the author takes the gift that was originally assigned to Jasper in the books and hands it over to Bella. However, the fact that, for the first time in her life, she meets someone, whose emotions she cannot make out, resembles Edward's situation in Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. The Bella in Truth, Lies, and Alibies has always relied on her gift (even though she's condemned it for the majority of her life) and has difficulties dealing with the fact that she now has to rely on her instincts and her instincts alone. She needs to trust Edward and her colleagues, something that doesn't come easily to her. She feels drawn to Edward yet doesn't know what's right and wrong. Her struggle to find a way to deal with the situation takes over a good part of the story. The rest is dedicated to hunting the bad guy, something that is cleverly written and quite suspenseful. Edward's character is very sweet and protective and doesn't hesitate to openly show the affections (and possessiveness) he feels towards Bella. The story is written from both Bella and Edward's POV and has some nice, though not overly graphic lemons. It's a good, long read!

Truth, Lies, and Alibies consists of 32 chapters and a total of 291,022 words. The story is rated MA for violence, foul language, and sexual content.

"Sins of the Father" by bethaboo 0

(banner made by Mina)

Edward Cullen is used to impressing people by pretending to be someone he's not. His life consists of a different woman in his bed every night, tons of alcohol, and spending most of his time on the road with his band Athair. He wasn't missing anything... Or so it seems, on the surface. But the handsome artist actually feels quite alone and it doesn't help that the release of the band's latest album has brought the success he'd hoped for. The only constant in his life is his bodyguard. So when Edward meets Bella, - a rebellious young blogger - he naturally assumes she's just going to be another lay. But things change when they are both kidnapped from Edward's dressing room. Little did he know he'd come to depend on Bella, and find himself with more than he ever knew...

Bella Swan has been progressively breaking free of her mother's tight grasp for years. She refuses to become the kind of woman Renee is and wants to make something of herself without depending on her looks or her mother's connections. So she starts a music blog, focusing on the local punk scene in Boston. Though her blog is struggling to take off, she is able to write a successful piece while ranting about Athair's new and surprisingly disappointing album Aimin' To Misbehave. Wanting to get an exclusive interview with the mysterious Edward Cullen, Bella goes out of her way to gain access to his dressing room. In the process, she finds herself (dressed provocatively, mind you) in the middle of a war she could never see coming a war involving herself and a secret organization.

Sins of the Father could be considered a misleading title, as neither Bella nor Edward are parents. However, it the story focuses a lot on Edward's family's past. Sins of the Father is a slow burn, filled with steamy lemons, drama, and some angst. It's a wonderfully written story that delves into long-buried secrets within a family and the journey to become our own, independent person. Both Edward and Bella are going through their own phase of rebellion but learn to overcome everything in order to survive and, eventually, find their happily-ever-after.

Sins of the Father consists of 38 chapters and 223,081 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities, foul language, and slight angst.

"A Hard Day's Night" by SexyLexiCullen 0

(banner made by Mina)

When Bella Swan wakes up one morning - tired, hung over, and really cranky - she isn't alone. Next to her lies a devastatingly handsome young man, whom she met the night before at a bar. She cannot remember much about what happened after they left but she knows it was amazing. Still, Bella feels uncomfortable and doesn't really know how to handle the situation. However, before she is able to sneak out of her apartment unnoticed, the young adonis wakes up and introduces himself as Edward. Awkwardly, the two part way (a.k.a. Bella throws him out politely), only to meet again at the NYC hospital. There, Bella has just started her internship and finds out that Edward is the resident assigned to her and her three young colleagues (Rose, Alice, and Jake). Embarrassed by what happened the night before, she tries to avoid Edward at all costs but as he is already way in over his head with her and won't just let her go...

Though Edward has just ended a three-year long relationship, he is more than willing to pursue whatever it is he feels for Bella. He's never met someone like her - witty, smart, adorable, and understanding - and can even imagine a future with her together. Too bad that Bella's insecurities and fears about violating the hospital's fraternization policy keep her from letting Edward in. It doesn't help that Bella desperately wants to become a surgeon, yet the Chief of Surgery at NYC is none other than Edward's father, Carlisle. Meanwhile, Edward's best friend, attending Dr. Jasper Whitlock, is giving up his manwhoring ways to chase after Tinker Bell a.k.a. Polly Pocket a.k.a. The Little Fairy a.k.a. Alice Brandon. The same Alice, who will later be there for Bella after she runs into someone from Edward's past that he'd rather have liked to keep a secret...

A Hard Day's Night was heavily inspired by Grey's Anatomy and if you are a fan of the show you will definitely recognize some scenes that have been borrowed by the wonderful SexyLexiCullen. This is one of her earlier works and not as angsty as some of her newer stories. In fact, this fanfic is, more than anything else, funny and romantic. The supporting characters lend some humor to A Hard Day's Night that will leave no eye dry. From Jasper, who's a bit of a nutcase yet a great friend to Edward, to Carlisle, who's more of a buddy to his son than an actual father, everyone has some kind of quirky side. All of them (btw: Emmett is an intern in another group) grow very close to each other and spend some memorable moments together. And once Edward and Bella, from whose POV this story is mainly written (there are a few chapters written from the POVs of some of the supporting characters), get their heads out of their as*** and give in to their feelings for each other, you are in a for a hilarious ride! A ride that includes some nice lemons, by the way! ;-) Enjoy!

A Hard Day's Night consists of 30 chapters and 209,631 words. The story is rated M for nice lemons and lots of profanities.

"Little Fish, Big Fish" by Paige Parkker & Michelle M. Marie 0

(banner made by time-lights)

Unique, quirky, and honest Bella Swan has just lost her mother and embarks on a roadtrip to Forks with her best friend Jasper, In the small rainy town, Bella will have to live with her father Charlie, who she really doesn't know, but allows her and Jasper to stay together, like they have always been, in order to get to know the daughter he missed. Bella is a free spirit and not really happy about having to spend any amount of time in that small town in Washington. The young woman is the definition of a flower child with an unique sense of fashion. She likes to smoke pot and commune with nature. Her love for photography and art is also a useful way to cope with the pain of losing her mother. Jasper is her same soul and rock, she shares a special relationship with him and relies on it to help her move on.

Meanwhile, handsome, intelligent, manwhore Edward Cullen is bored and done with his life. Edward is the popular jock of Forks High, wanted by all the girls and envied by all the guys. However, he is unhappy with his life for he was molded into being the perfect student and athlete by his di*k of a father. Luckily, Edward has the support of his mother, but the obligation he feels to carry on his older brother's legacy has him stuck between a rock and hard place. It is in this mindframe that he meets Bella. Both Bella and Edward have no idea what will happen when their universes collide, but it could likely be the change they have both been waiting for. Follow the life of Bella and Edward as they meet in high school, fall in love, and part painfully only to reunite as adults – under very different circumstances.

Little Fish, Big Fish is a collab between Paige Parkker - who writes the point of view of funny and quirky Bella - and Michelle M Marie - who writes the point of view of morose and manwhore Edward. Though Edward and Bella are so different, they still seem to be perfect for each other. There were some funny moments that had us belly laughing, as well as heart-breaking ones that had us reaching for the ice cream and booze. Both Bella and Edward have issues, but together they discover more about life and themselves than they he could have ever imagined. This story is all about growing up, learning from your mistakes, and making amends. It is an amazing read, one you won't regret, and the happily ever after is just right, not over done, simply like it was always meant to be. So, go check out this great story and don't forget to leave a review!

Little Fish, Big Fish consists of 35 chapters and a total of 237,245 words. The story is rated MA for lemons, coarse language and drug use.

"Black Silk Tie" by sospecial21 1

(banner made by Bethany)

Bella Swan has just moved to Seattle from her hometown Phoenix and hopes to make the best of her new job at Cullen Industries. Though the job is clearly below her qualifications, Bella is grateful to have gotten it anyway, given her lack of experience. Sorting through the mail at Cullen Industries might not be the best thing she's ever done, but it pays for the rent. Also, she is happy to get to know the lovely ladies in the department, make new friendships, and learn about the latest office gossip. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't take long until she finds herself in the middle of a conversation about bronze-haired billionaire Edward Cullen - the boss of Cullen Industries and apparently an incredibly handsome young man with amazing looks and a hot body. Bella isn't sure whether any man deserves to be described as 'dreamy' and 'sexy' (Can a man really be so attractive?) but when she finally comes face to face with Edward at the parking garage, she changes her opinion...

Edward Cullen is a peculiar young man. At the age of twenty-eight, he is not only rich, but has accomplished much more than most other people have, with regards to both business and personal pleasure. Because with the success and money comes a certain type of power, and with power come certain desires - ones that not many people would openly talk about. Edward likes to indulge in a BDSM dom/sub relationship as often as he can and is always looking for willing partners. However, though Edward has no problems finding said partners, he gets bored rather easily and usually ends the relationship after only a few weeks. The billionaire does not believe in serious and long-term relationships but prefers no-strings-attached-trysts. Needless to say, when he meets his new employee Bella Swan, he is more than intrigued - despite the fact that she does not look like his usual conquests. Edward cannot get her out of his mind and wonders who the beautiful brunette is who captivates him so much. He knows that Bella is not one to be subdued but even though he tries, his dominant nature and desires cannot be suppressed for long. Will Bella be willing to accept him for who he is?

Black Silk Tie is an extremely sensual fanfiction that will leave you gasping and wanting for more! There are a lot of dom/sub stories out there in the fandom and this is one of the underrated ones! The plot of the story is really well-developed and slowly unravelling the reasons for why Edward does what he does and feels what he feels. Bella is pretty adament about changing her lover's controlling tendencies, even though she enjoys the sex with him as much as he does. His ideas of having her whenever he snips with his finger and of always being 'in charge' don't go well with her and she makes sure he knows. In the process of doing so, she softens Edward in such a way that will pull at your heartstrings. But you need to have patience with the characters; and you need to be patient with the writing. Though the grammar and sentence structures are not perfect, the fabulous plot will leave you unable to put the story away. An extremely sexy story that shouldn't be missed! It is definitely worth reading should definitely be given a chance!

Black Silk Tie consists of 42 chapters and a total of 215,058 words. The story is rated MA for a lot of sexy lemons, some BDSM relationship, and language.

"Gateway to the Heart" by samekramer 0

(banner made by Jaime)

When her husband Jacob reveals that he is in love with another woman, Bella decides that enough is enough. With her marriage broken and her beloved father dead, there is nothing that keeps her in Seattle anymore. So she packs her belongings and throws a dart at a map of the United States. It lands in the small town of St. Louis in Missouri. She finds a position as a teacher at an elementary school in Kansas City and buys a small condo. It is while moving into her new home that Bella meets Edward, his brother Emmett, and their good friend Jasper. She is also warmly welcomed by her new neighbors Alice and Rose, who give her fashion and dating advice whenever they can. Though Edward has made a lasting impression on Bella the two kind of lose touch and don’t see each other again until the handsome young music professor walks into Bella’s new class room, accompanied by his cute little six-year old daughter, Carlie…

As both Edward and Bella don’t get each other out of their minds, it doesn’t take long until they start dating. Though the fact that Bella is Carlie’s teacher makes their relationship difficult, the two are not discouraged by it. They know their feelings run deeper than mere attraction and both are ready to start a new chapter in their lives. Unfortunately, there are a few things that keeps them from living their happily ever after, namely Bella’s ex-husband Jake and Edward’s past acquaintance Carmen. A few years ago, the latter was the one, who introduced Edward to the secrets of BDSM relationships and taught him the secrets of the female body. Though Bella is open to try out a few things with Edward in the bedroom (and enjoying his sexual expertise immensely), she is furious when Carmen suddenly appears in St. Louis and wants her former Sub back…

First and foremost, Gateway to the Heart is not a BDSM fanfiction in the classical sense. You won’t read about whips and chains, but some more unusual methods of love making. Though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea (personally, I’m not a fan of BDSM myself), the subject is tackled in a very delicate way and has been “downgraded” immensely. Edward is unwilling to inflict pain on Bella and she on the other hand has her limits with what she wants to do as well. That said, you need to decide for yourselves if you feel up to a story like that. Naturally, because of the BDSM influence and the couples strong sex drive, the fanfiction is rated MA. Moreover, it is written from both characters’ perspectives, resulting in some repetitions along the way. Getaway to the Heart is filled with likeable characters (first and foremost Emmett), very funny moments (Carlisle dressed as a princess is priceless), and lots of love. Add some drama to it and you have another wonderful story by samekraemer! Make sure to check it out!

Gateway to the Heart consists of 38 chapters and a total of 265,603 words. The story is rated MA for graphic description of sexual relations, references of BDSM, and foul language.
