The Cullens are a typical Cannabean family: there are the parents Carlisle and Esme and their three sons Emmett, Jasper, and Edward. While the first two are already married and well settled in their own lives, Edward, the youngest of the brothers, gives his parents some reason to worry. With no one to call his wife the young man spends most of his days surrounded by his nieces and nephews. Though he makes it seem as though he was actually quite content with his life, in reality he feels incredibly lonely. When he was younger he always thought that one day he would have it all - a wonderful woman by his side and some beautiful children - but alas, life seemed to have other plans. That and the fact that Edward swore himself to never easily trust another person again...

The Swan family consists of parents Charles and Renee and their daughter Bella. Together they live in Billings, Montana but due to the sad dwindling of their kind, they finally decide to move to Forks, Washington. There, news spreads quickly that another Cannabean family is about to arrive. On the first day in the new town, Bella befriends a tiny, pixie-like woman named Alice Cullen. Though she seems to be nice and helpful, Bella notices that she is always absent whenever the whole Cullen family gets together. As the Swans and Cullens get to know each other better, Charlie and Renee and Carlisle and Esme decide that Edward and Bella should begin a courtship before giving a relationship a try. What follows are many ups and downs of a new couple that is slowly trying to trust and learn more about the other. But what happens when Bella finds out the real reason for Edward's reluctancy to have a relationship? Will it be too much for her?

A Cannabean Betrothal is a very informative fanfic and hats off to ItzMegan73 for giving us an insight into the beautiful culture that is Cannabeanism. Even though this story is a piece of fiction, the author has the great talent to make it seem as if Cannabeanism actually existed in real life. At the beginning of every chapter, she starts with a little synopsis of the unusual culture, which not only hints what each chapter is about, but is also quite educational! The story has it all, from heartbreak to the typical conflicts a new couple faces. Ultimately, Edward and Bella overcome the fears in their relationship and build upon their unconditional love towards each other. The whole fanfic is written in third perspective and that is very helpful in figuring out what each character is thinking at the same time. The story is definitely a HEA and will make you smile as you come towards the closing. A beautiful story made by a wonderful author; definitely not to be missed!!!

People say there are moments in your life that define you. Edward Cullen is faced with one of them. Out of the blue, he is informed that he has a five-year-old son, Anthony. His mother, and Edward's former girlfriend, Jessica died in a car accident and left no immediate family behind who could take care of Anthony. So all of a sudden, Edward is given custody of a child he never met and his lazy bachelor days are over. With his low paid job at Forks' lumber mill he can hardly provide for himself, let alone a child. Additionally, Anthony's kindergarten teacher, Bella Swan, bothers Edward to no end when she points at his obvious inadequacies as a father.

A Rough Start is a very realistic story. Edward is totally unprepared of becoming a father and has no idea what to do. Because the relationship towards his own parents is close to non-existent, he is only left with the help of his friends and Bella. The latter supports him whenever she can and soon realizes that beneath Edward's hard shell, there is soft core.

A Rough Start consists of 41 chapters and a total of 253,554 words. All characters are human. The story is rated M for mature content.
