After Bella Swan finds out that the prestigious "Edward Cullen Scholarship" she had received was actually not meant for her and would thus be taken away again, she is royally floored. Bella has always dreamt about going to NYU with her best friend Alice and also planned to eventually settle down there. Only with the scholarship the young high school student would have been able to pay the college tuition fees for all four years. Now, however, Bella is an emotional mess and out of despair decides to contact the owner of the Cullen-Whitlock Inc. and explain her plight. Alas, after about twenty futile emails to one Mr. Edward Cullen, Bella sees no other way but to take matters into her own hands and talk to the man in person...

But just before she can do that, a knock on her doorstep immediately changes all her plans. Edward Cullen's personal right-hand man Alec stands before her and before she can even think twice, Bella finds herself in New York City, at his enormous yet beautiful house. In a one-on-one dinner, Edward plans to talk with Bella about possible solutions to her problem. As a multi-billionaire he could easily bear all the expenses necessary but refuses to do so without getting something back in return. And so he makes her an offer that she feels simply unable to deny, even though, at nineteen, it seems to be more than risky and frivolous. But there is something about the worried lines across Edward's forehead that make her agree to his offer anyway. What is it Edward so desperately wants from Bella? Why her? And why is he having severe trust issues?

This fanfic is filled with lots of romantic drama and will definitely have you hooked! Although Edward is portrayed to be much older than Bella in this fanfic, it does not make it uncomfortable for the reader to read. On the contrary, it is very touching and heartfelt to see an Edward, who is desperate for love and affection, after once having been hurt immensely.
