“Cutlass” by TKegl 2

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Brandi)

Captain Edward Cullen was popularly known as one of the most ruthless, murdering, thieving, dread pirates of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly of the areas between the Caribbean and the American colonies. He ran a tight ship named the Black Arrow, and rightly so since it was one of the fastest pirate ships in the known world. He needed the speed of his boat and the utmost respect and loyalty of his crew because he wasn’t just after any treasure, he was on a quest searching for specific relics portrayed in a cryptic journal he possessed that were rumored to be the keys to finding a hidden, enormous Aztec treasure. The main problem was, there was only half a map known to exist and it was currently in the hands of his arch-nemesis and competition for the treasure - another notorious but vile pirate - one that Edward had vowed to get his revenge against for more reasons than one. Said pirate was also constantly evading being caught by ships of the Crown; a wanted man for all his heinous crimes.

Raised a proper young lady, Isabella is convinced the notorious pirate Edward Cullen is responsible for her father's death two years ago, since "Cullen" was the last word he spoke with his dying breath. His prized cutlass with a large sapphire inlaid in the handle had also been stolen, and from her private investigator, she had gained knowledge that Cullen is, in fact, in possession of it. Come hell or high water, she was determined that she would get her revenge for her father's death and get the cutlass back. So she flattens her breasts with strips of cloth, disguises herself in breeches and other clothing of a young boy, rolls her long hair up and tucks it in a hat and manages to get hired on board the Black Arrow. Her target is the captain, ‘One-Eyed-Eddie’, wearing the black patch that covers the scar of his missing eye and his signature red bandana tied over his long hair that is twisted into reddish brown dreads. She will just bide her time until she can get to him and then, kill him! Will she get her revenge and retrieve her father’s cutlass? Or will she be discovered and find out things are may not be as they seem?

Of course Cutlass by TKegl is loosely based on the Pirates of the Caribbean, but the author definitely puts her own unique spin on it. At her flawless words and vivid imagery, you will experience a total immersion with cut-throat adventures on the high seas and beyond, and the characters and action will spring to life before your very eyes! Her Bella is one kick-ass little hellion that doesn't take grief off of anyone. She gets herself into all kinds of difficult circumstances, but a well-placed knee to the groin, a punch in the nose or a rum jug smashed up side a head usually takes care of it! Eddie's one hot, sexy, tough-as-nails pirate, but has all kinds of secrets of his own, like where he came from and how he came to be a pirate. These two constantly butt heads and antagonize each other and the tension builds and builds until...you’ll have to read to find out! There is action and adventure in every chapter along with mystery and intrigue, all shrouded in danger and of course UST and more! Batten down the hatches, mates, and jump on board with TKegl for this voyage of your life! (Unedited version of the story can also be found on Archive of Our Own.)

Cutlass consists of 27 chapters and a total of 134,307 words. The story is rated M for content and sexy times.

"Deep in the Heart of Me" by counselor 0

(banner made by Romy)

Since Edward “Tonio” Cullen is the oldest of nine, he carries the weight and responsibilities of being a firstborn on his shoulders. The responsibilities that he holds towards his family have been instilled within him early on, giving him the insight of a grown man in an almost fourteen year old’s body. His personality is an interesting cross between his hard-working/ready-to-fight-for-family Irish father and his fiery, passionate Italian mother. He contemplates that he might be handsome; his 'granma' says it's common knowledge and his dad says, "he won't break a mirror." And although he is accustomed to working long, hard hours on the family farm, often from before sunrise until after sunset, he sometimes wonders what life could be for him beyond just the farm and his duties. Little does he know how soon he will come to find that out...

Everything is as it should be in his world until one day when a sleek black car passes him, his brothers and sisters on the dirt road as they are walking the mile to school, bringing the new sheriff to town to drop off his daughter and turning Tonio's life completely upside down. This new girl is dressed in a crisp new dress and shoes with ribbons in her hair - the prettiest thing he has ever seen. The teacher starts to introduce her as “Isa-”, but her father quickly corrects her saying, “Her name is Sobe.” Not only is Sobe Swan sweet, pretty and smart, but apparently also a harbinger of all kinds of trouble. Trouble not only for a smitten young Tonio’s heart, but a host of other situations, some of which she keeps deeply hidden. Why is her father giving her a different name? What kind of adventures will these two young people experience and what obstacles will they encounter before they can be together?

Deep in the Heart of Me is of course, our beloved counselor’s latest addicting gem in the crown of her many fanfiction accomplishments. My words cannot adequately praise her unique ability to so completely and vividly immerse you into the mindset of her characters that transport you to another place and time; this time through the riveting point of view of young Tonio Cullen! counselor’s superior mastery of words will evoke the rawest of emotions from you, from total disbelief of what is happening, nail-biting suspense of what will happen, complete angst and rage against powers that be, and of course, swooning over the yearning and adoration Tonio has for his beloved Sobe and his determination to let nothing or no one keep them from being together. This coming of age journey is of epic proportions, spanning several years while his character matures and evolves from being reckless and hard-headed to someone with vision and purpose; enduring and surviving many adventures, twists, turns, trials and tribulations on his way to becoming the man he is destined to be, with the woman he is destined to be with. If you are not already reading this, what are you waiting for? You need to click on the link right now and go share this spectacular experience!

Deep in the Heart of Me has 100 Chapters and 155,396 words. It is rated M for themes and content.

"Duty and Desire" by Aspenleaf 0

Meet Mr. Edward Anthony Masen, who when he twenty years of age found himself heir to the huge estate of Pemberley, a fortune, and guardian to ten year old little sister, Alice. He feels bound by his duty to preserve his impeccable family name and status in high society, and the responsibility for all of those in his employ. Now, at twenty-seven years of age, he endeavors to observe obligatory social functions from a safe distance to avoid being accosted by the artificial, superficial, incessant women who only want him for what he stands for, not who he is, including Emmett's evil harpy of a sister, Tanya. Tired of the endless pursuits of such women, he becomes more and more jaded. He continually wonders if he will ever meet a woman who is of high caliber, but who is also intelligent, witty, and spirited; when one day it happens out of nowhere. While riding his horse during a storm, he encounters a beautiful young woman walking along the road and dancing in the rain. He is intrigued and gets closer; entranced by her beautiful features, her long dark hair and gets lost in her big brown eyes. He asks politely if he could be of assistance and introduces himself, finding out she is Isabella, the daughter of a gentleman whose estate is nearby as he kisses her sweet hand. Then, with complete disregard to the duty of his station and against all rules of propriety and polite society, he leans down and kisses her soft lips.

In the days that follow, he learns that she is one of five sisters and that although her father is a land owner, they are far beneath what is considered socially acceptable for a man of his high status. To be with her would taint and ruin his family name that he is bound by duty to preserve and uphold. He determines he must distance himself from her, yet he is almost driven to madness with hopeless dreams of her. She is his heaven and hell, the one woman he had been searching his entire life for, but Isabella, no matter how beautiful, intelligent or talented, comes from an unsuitable family. His actions towards her run hot and cold and many times he treats her intolerably - trying desperately to maintain that distance; yet he is undeniably physically attracted to her and emotionally torn. Will he let her lower station in life continue to make him shun her as unattainable, or will he overcome this deeply ingrained sense of duty to pursue his desire and find happiness? Would she even accept him if he did?

Set in early nineteenth century England, this is a spectacular adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by Aspenleaf that will keep you entranced with it's poetic Victorian prose, visual imagery, character development and it's own unique twists and turns in the compelling plot. You will find this flawless story emotionally engaging, full of drama, romance, a little angst, a dastardly evil villain, action, and of course, some sweet loving! This is one of the early fanfiction classics that was just as exciting for me to re-read now as it was several years ago. Allow yourself to get immersed into another wonderful place and time and go read this!

Duty and Desire consists of 30 chapters with 115,375 words. It is rated M for themes, violence and sexual situations.

"The Last Breath" by FirstBlush 0

(banner made by beegurl13)

This magnificent story takes place in 1944 during WWII, and begins when Edward, who was in the army, is regaining consciousness. He discovers that he is in an army field hospital in London, has been recovering from a serious shrapnel injury as well as a surgery and has been unconscious for nearly two months. The story is so eloquently written that you will literally feel the vivid descriptions; such as Edward's first reactions as he wakes up to the pain, nausea and vertigo from being in a coma for so long. As the doctor explains where he is and what happened, he also offers his condolences for the loss of his wife, Bella, whose car was bombed during an air raid by the Germans in London. To say that Edward was shocked would be an understatement, but but he knows deep in his heart, that this can not possibly be true; his Bella had to be alive. As he deliberates what to do, we see through his memories how their relationship began in the first place and how their marriage came to be. Their deep love for each other despite the risks around them solidified Edward's conscious thoughts that Bella indeed, cannot be dead, because without her, he wouldn't be awake either. He is intent on being released as soon as possible to go find her, which leads him to a heart-breaking journey over two continents. What obstacles must he face and overcome in his journey to find her? What situation will he find her in and what is her story?

I was naturally drawn to this because I have a passion for historical pieces, but as I began reading FirstBlush’s passionate descriptive words, I was quickly impressed with what an intricate plot it was as well! The story pulled me in even more with its intense drama, intrigue and action and I just could not put it down. This is one of those fanfictions that will impact you on an emotional level and stay with you for days. It is brilliantly written and well-researched to be as authentic as possible - considering the time period - by FirstBlush; with enlightening explanations and links of important details given in her A/Ns. Through her words she will have you sharing a sense of urgency and determination with the main characters as they journey to survive and reunite with their loved ones. There is also a major plot twist that compounds this urgency and I promise, the action will keep you on the edge of your seat! I encourage you to check this out for yourself.

The Last Breath has 31 chapters and 170,164 words. It is rated M for themes, violence, and sexual situations.

"Foolish Hearts" by LyricalKris 0

(banner made by Bethany)

Tour guide Edward Masen has had his fair share of experiences with the Oregon Trail - one of the most gruesome travel a person can possibly make. His past choices has led him to work as a full time tour giver under his boss, James, on the trail to those that are traveling in order to aid them with all the necessities essential for them to reach West successfully. When a certain eighteen year old Brunette happens to embark upon this very same trail with her family relatives, Edward cannot help but notice her beauty and quick wit. Unfortunately for him, he is too grief-stricken  by his past that he refuses to lay his eyes on another woman. But with our Bella being ever so persuasive in getting this handsome man's attention, will Edward finally give in and realize that Bella is his one true love? But the issue remains: the trail is not easy to surpass. Are the two lovers being foolish by expanding on their relationship on a trail that can possibly be fatal? Will their love survive in the end?

Foolish Hearts is a mind-blowing story that really brings out the bond of true love between two people. We all know from historical knowledge that the Oregon Trail, was in fact an extremely dangerous path to travel upon when people had to go to the West. Not only does the story portray realism in the sense of the time period, but it also creates two very complicated characters that are somehow, meant for each other. Bella is much younger than Edward, but her sense of wit may lead you to think otherwise; she had lived without her parents for quite a bit of time and knowing that her father had crossed this very same trail and made it to the other side was enough to keep her spirits up. Edward, on the other hand, is more or less the opposite of Bella in terms of his spirits. He still cannot get over his past and its course of events, but with Bella's presence, he seems to be recovering mentally and finally putting his foot down on things. The love between the two of them is really strong and one that will make want to read this fanfiction over and over again! So don't miss out on this fabulous story and leave LyricalKris some love!

Foolish Hearts consists of 28 chapters and a total of 99,249 words. The story is rated M for some language, and sexual activities.

"Plight Thee My Troth" by gingerandgreen 0

(banner made by Jaime)

England, 1795. Lord Edward Masen and Miss Isabella Swan are getting ready to exchange their marriage vows with each other, excited to be finally bound to their other halves. The first chapter of the story covers their martial ritual and the chapters that follow go back in time so the readers get a glimpse with regards to their first meeting and how the wedding came about in the first place. When he firsts sets out from his castle at Seat to Forbrigg in order to meet up with his cousin Emanuel, he does not expect to find a brunette lady that he will come to fall in love with. Their initial meetings are very pleasant and they both find each others company extremely valuable. It isn't long before they decide to tie the knot with Bella's father, Charlie's blessings. But Edward can't but notice that there is something he is missing with the way Charlie is behaving, as if he has an underlying purpose behind everything that he is doing. The story then comes back to present time continues on with the newly married couple's lives. Will the forces outside their bubble allow the two of them to fulfill their vows? What does Charlie want? Will they be able to continue their love story with peace?

Plight Thee My Troth  is an amazing historical story that will capture your heart instantly. Royalward is something we all fangirl over, let's admit it, and this Edward will fulfill that fantasy! He is the epitome of patient and his soft, velvet voice is so sexy that it will bring you to your knees. The chemistry between our two lovebirds is palpable, and gingerandgreen creates a very realistic plot around them, especially in the given time period. What I absolutely love about this fic is that the love between Edward and Bella is what, ultimately, allows the two of them to fight through the hurdles they are faced with. You may come to dislike a few characters in the story, especially Jacob and Charlie, but as the story progresses you come to realize the reason behind each of them. This story is pretty well-known out there in the fandom, but definitely not enough! There is a good mix of fluff, romance, and drama, which makes the story whole. So go and give this fic a read, I promise it won't disappoint!

Plight Thee My Troth consists of 29 chapters and a total of 160,023 words. The story is rated M for some language and sexual content.

"Orange Kisses and Peppermint Hearts" by SparrowNotes24 0

(banner made by Bethany)

- I'd like a selection of chocolates that reflect all the things that made me fall madly and deeply in love with her. I have to admit that I'm no chocolate connoisseur, but she is, and she always tells me that your shop does the best.-

Bella Swan is the proud owner of Cocoa Swan, a small shop that sells self-made pralines and chocolates. One morning, a neatly written letter addressed to Bella arrives at the shop. A man asks her to help him in creating the most perfect gift for his wife for their anniversary: a box of chocolates that reflect all the things that made him fall deeply in love with her. No sender's address is given and the envelope has no stamp on it. Confused, yet touched by the romantic words she just read, Bella starts creating the most amazing pralines - always based on the letters that continue to arrive day after day. Cappuccino Swirls, Dark Orange Crisps, Chocolate Caramels, as well as a few other delectable chocolates find their way into the lavender-cream box of Cocoa Swan, waiting to be delivered. Once the time comes and Bella finally stands before the wonderful man whose love for his wife was almost oozing out of each letter he wrote, she drops the delicate box to the ground. Could it really be?

Wow, this must be one of the most romantic stories, I've ever read! Seriously! This Edward will melt your heart with his words and Bella's memories of him are nothing short of adorable and swoon-worthy! Originally written as a birthday present for the lovely MagTwi78, SparrowNotes24 has really outdone herself with this one-short; one that I'd really like to see expanded into a multi-chapter story! Though the exact time the story is set in is never mentioned, based on Bella and Rose's clothes, one can assume that the O/S takes place in the late 1960s/early 1970s. The fanfic is written from Bella's POV, a young woman who is a lovely and talented young chocolate connoisseur and who is missing her boyfriend like nothing else! Read this O/S right now, it will put the biggest smile on your face!

Orange Kisses and Peppermint Hearts is a One-Shot consisting of 10,303 words. The story is rated T.

"California Dreamin'" by chocaholic123 1

Posted by Anonymous

The year is 1967 and the heat is blistering in the small town of Wentworth, CA. Bella Swan and her best friend Angela have just graduated from High School and enjoy their last summer before starting college. They spend their time hanging out at the lake, listening to The Beattles and Sergeant Pepper, and gossiping about Jessica Stanley's unexpected pregnancy. They are also very much involved in the anti-Vietnam-war-protests, which makes them go on a daytrip to San Francisco, where Angela wants to listen to a speech held by one of Martin Luther King's staff. The girls are joined by four friends: Angela's boyfriend Ben and his three buddies Eric, Tyler, and Edward. Due to the limited space in the car, Bella spends the whole journey to Frisco on Edward's lap and feels strongly attracted to him...

Edward is a pre-med student, who is supposed to follow the footsteps of his father, congressman Carlise Cullen, and his brother Emmett, even though he has no interest in politics whatsoever. He has also been drafted to go to Vietnam and will leave town soon to start basic training. Falling in love with a lovely girl was the last thing he intended to do, but it happens nonetheless. He enjoys every minute he spends with Bella on their trip and stays in contact with her once they get back home. The two become a couple and Bella loses her virginity to Edward - just a day before he leaves for training. With promises to come back to her, Edward starts his journey that is the Vietnam war and, surrounded by bombs, blood, and death, loses himself and what he thought he had...

This story is both incredibly wonderful and heart-breaking. Edward and Bella fall quick and hard and when the time comes to say goodbye, the reader is just as devastated as they are. Edward starts writing her sweet yet also horrible letters; describing how much he misses her and her warmth and telling her about the horrors of war. I have to admit, I had a few tears in my eyes when I finished each letter, which were written with immense honesty and love. After leaving Bella to receive training, the two meet two more times, each and every time Edward comes back more broken than before. The war in Vietnam, a war that he never believed in in the first place, is taking its toll on him and Bella isn't only one "thing" he uses to ease the pain. It's incredibly sad to see him fall apart like that, becoming a shell of the charming young man he once was. Yet despite it being an angsty story, it DOES have a happy ending. An ending that leaves you dreaming about their wonderful future together! The story is completely written from Bella's POV and Jasper, Alice, Rose, and Emmett are not mentioned at all or play just very small roles. Read it, it's worth it!

California Dreamin' consists of 23 chapters and 93,809 words. The story is rated MA for profanities, angst, drug use, and lemons.

"Sovereign Fate" by A Cullen Wannabe 0

(banner made by time_lights)

In a time of hierarchy and royals, politically arranged marriages were a daily occurence and marriages - or even relationships - with commoners were more than frowned upon. Princess Isabella of Spain finds herself in a vey celicate situation when she loses her heart to Tony - a young handsome man whom while traveling Italy - yet has been promised to Prince Edward of England. Their marriage was arranged in exchange for England's loyalty to and cooperation with Spain during times of war. And though the Spanich princess has absolutely no desire to be a bargaining chip to her father, she cannot seem to find a way out. She has heard about the horrible rumors regarding Prince Edward's womanizing ways and that, in combination with her love for another man, makes her fight the arranged marriage in every way possible...

For years, Prince Edward of England has set his heart on marrying the young lady he had met in Italy so long ago. He has been seducing women left and right as a form of rebellion; something that now stands in the way of his personal happily-ever-after. Because in opposite to the lovely Bella, the women who throw themselves at his feet have the social status necessary to become the future queen of England. Bella, he believes, is a commoner and therefore out of his reach. However, no one could have prepared him for the moment when he meets his bride, Princess Isabella, for the first time on their wedding day. Standing before him is no other but the charming Bella, who stole his heart in Italy. After the wedding, Edward and Isabella go on their honeymoon but have to return early when France is about to start a war against their countries. Most of the Court welcomes their new queen, with the exception of Edward's former mistresses. All of them are more than willing to cause Isabella lots of trouble...

Sovereign Fate is an underrated gem. Set in 17th-century-Europe, we're transported to a time where love didn't conquer all and women were used as pieces instead of as human beings with feelings. This is one story nobody should miss out on as it's beautifully written and depicts the time period in a very realist manner. The journey of Edward and Isabella's growing and ever changing relationship is intriguing and captivating. I was able to read through this story within a day and loved every moment of it. I was hooked and so upset when I realized it was over! This story is written in third person point of view but alternates between Edward and Isabella.

Sovereign Fate consists of 30 chapters and 98,936 words. Rated M for sexual content, cat fights, and mild language.

"All I Have To Give" by LyricalKris 0

Posted by
(banner made by Jaime)

"For a princess, virtue is a prize to be given away to the highest bidder. This is a problem when you're in love with a man who cannot possibly win."

Bella is a princess betrothed to Prince James, a man who can be charming and gentle, but who can also be cruel and violent. She has no other choice but to marry him - even though her heart belongs to the young servant boy Edward, who was abandoned by his parents when he was a child. They grew up together and their friendship soon turned into love. Their deep feelings for each other are the only thing keeping them from falling to pieces after the announcement of Bella's engagement. Bella only wishes for Edward, her true and only love, and wants him to be her first. To feel loved by him and only him before anyone else. Taking the council of her hand maiden Alice, she discovers a way to lay with Edward and keep her womanhood for her future husband. Love is very powerful, but when birthright and titles hold power above everything else, it is difficult to find your happy ending. But things aren't always as they seem and secrets long kept might become the key for Edward and Bella to have it all.

This story was an entry for the Let#s Do Anal Contest and we gotta admit, it was a pretty clever premise! It made us wonder if, maybe, back then, there were more who found themselves in Bella and Edward's position and would do the same to be with the one they love before they were given away to another. Poor Bella has it rough, she has duties but no powers. She might be a princess, but as power is only held by men, she has little say. Thanks to her Uncle Aro, a man whose greed for power orchestrated a lot of atrocities throughout the years, she has no choice but to wed the future king of Nomadia. It's an angsty and tragic tale, especially when James singles out Edward to torture and demean, but both Edward and Bella hold strong, knowing the payoff will be worth it. We are not gonna lie, this was a tough read for us - we don't like it when Edward gets hurt but like every story by the talented LyricalKris, we weren't disappointed as things end up on a happy note. Go check out this great short story that is written from a third-person's perspective and don't forget to leave a review. You won't regret it!

All I Have To Give consists of 15 chapters and 54,333 words. The story is rated M for violence and sexual activities.

"All That Jazz" by javamomma0921 0

After their mother dies, newly orphaned sisters Bella and Alice Swan move to Chicago to live with their aunt Esme. While Alice is more than enthusiastic about being adopted by aunt (even though they have never met), Bella is extremely hesitant and skeptical to meet the one person her mother used to hate. Raised to always listen to and believe in every word Renee said, Bella has turned into a naive young woman, who doesn't know much about the world, much less about men. Her mother taught her that men only us women and that things like love don't exist, period. In opposite to her loyal sister, Alice has a bright personality - one that her Renee hated with a passion -  and is absolutely certain that love will find you. Everyone has their significant other, she believes, and not all men are out there to hurt women! Until she meets none other that Edward Masen in Chicago...

After hours of traveling by train the two sisters finally arrive at their destination. Esme is more than welcoming and soon makes both girls realize that she is, indeed, a kind-hearted and compassionate woman, who has gone through a rough past but finally got the happiness she deserves in marrying Carlisle, the love of her life - a decision that resulted in her straying away from her family. To marry out of love was not considered proper behavior back in 1919. Bella can see how wrong her mother had been about Esme and welcomes the latter's idea to allow Alice and her to get them up to date on the education that they missed out on. Enter Edward Masen, best friends with Esme's son and a close family friend, who is planning on studying law and doesn't mind teaching Alice and beautiful Bella. Needless to say, when he and Bella meet for the first time, sparks fly. Edward is more than eager to convey his deep feelings for Bella, but realizes that she is more than shy on the matter - the latter confuses him on whether or not Bella reciprocated his feelings. Will Bella learn that Edward is not one of those men out there to hurt woman but that he wants to love her?

javamomma0921 has written a beautiful historical fanfiction and its fabulous writing style will have you hooked from the beginning. And though the flawless style helps following and enjoying the story immensely, the plot itself also plays a major role in why I loved this fanfic so much. Set in 1919 - right after the influenza epidemic - women were raised to be very naive creatures when it came to men, let alone the sexual aspects of what a marriage entails. Arranged marriages were considered ideal and normal while love was completely frowned upon at the time - both aspects that Bella has do deal with in this story. And though it may be slightly frustrating to read about her tendencies to forsake all men as well as her own happiness, you will enjoy reading about her learning the truth about love and men and finding 'the one'. Which brings in Edward, who will simply steal your heart in this fic. Who wouldn't want a man, who loves you so unconditionally that he'd be willing to patiently wait for as long as it takes for you to love him back? Gahh, it's mind-blowing! This story is very much liked in the Twilight fandom, but there is still some out there who have not read it yet - now is your time! A more than recommendable story!!!

All That Jazz consists of 23 chapters and a total of 184,134 words. The story is rated M for sexual references and some profanity.

When resourceful Bella Swan rescues and takes care of a wounded Edward, their lives take a turn neither could have expected. Nights in a cold cabin and nothing but time make them fall for each other, despite their completely different lives. Promises are made and hesitant kisses are shared. Though deep down, both of them know that their lives are heading in directions that simply cannot intersect, they aren’t willing to accept that their story will end here. When Edward’s men find him and bring him back to his castle and his fiancée, will he be able to keep his promise? Will he even remember the brunette beauty that saved his life?

For Edward, life before Bella held no color. There was duty and there was the kingdom. He was the perfect son - the son who did what he had to do for the sake of his country. He would marry the beautiful though stoic Rosalie and rule his kingdom as had been planned since the day he was born. When he meets Bella, however, things change and he feels attraction and tenderness. Time with her is like a breath of fresh air. He admires her and her independence. He knows that their experience is short-lived but can’t imagine never seeing that intriguing woman again. Bella just hopes he will follow through on his promise. Will the expressive brown eyes that he can’t forget be his downfall?

Elise de Sallier, previously known as twiloversue, comes out with another wonderful regency tale in her new story Restoration. Inspired by Cinderella and the movie Ever After, Restoration explores the life of an impoverished but wonderfully strong and independent Bella. There are so many times in Twilight fanfiction that I wish Bella would be more assertive and take care of herself. There’s no shortage of that in here. Bella is completely willing to go after what she wants alone if no one wishes to help her. That’s probably what first endeared me to this story. Edward respects this completely, which also appealed to me. The two of them together just work. Elise de Sallier does a great job weaving together the lives of these two characters. Fresh from publishing her own story, it’s clear that Elise de Sallier definitely knows what she’s doing. Even though there are only 11 chapters so far, this story is definitely one to look out for and add to your alerts!

Restoration consists of 22 chapters and 85,900 words. This story is rated M for slightly coarse language and sexual activities.

"Reign" by RuthlesslyYours 4

(banner by Bethany)

A new King takes the throne in the shadow of his ruthless predecessor. The frustration of the people is the frustration of the king. Upon the advice of his council, Edward makes a trip to Devonshire, a part of the kingdom where the people are highly impoverished and opinionated. Upon arriving, the first thing the King sees is Isabella Swan, the daughter of the duke, riding barefoot on her horse. He soon realizes that the wild, young, and soon-to-be-betrothed Isabella is every bit as headstrong and stubborn as the rest of her people, yet still she stirs feelings within him that he never thought possible. The worst part though is that she doesn’t even try. Not used to having to work for a lady’s affections, he finds himself learning and experiencing new things just to please her. Will his wooing make her see how truly enamored he is with her? Is the King even supposed to woo?

Isabella Swan doesn’t want to admit just how much the King gets to her. She knows that the handsome man has already wormed his way into her heart but unlike other women, the thought of becoming Queen frightens her to no end. She can think of no greater prison than having to conform to court’s beliefs of what is right and wrong. She’s perfectly content caring for the poor, yet no less valuable people of Devonshire. But Edward knows just how to get under her skin. His sweet words and careful seduction win her heart before she knows it. He knows of her to-be-fiancé and her obligations back home, but he can’t bring himself to part with this brazen, disarming woman. He may have been the King of the country, but she was the Queen of his heart. Will he have to defy his Queen?

I have to be honest, this story is not without its flaws. There are several grammatical and spelling issues that can easily distract you from the plot. However, this is work that could be overseen by a beta and the storyline itself, as well as the characters, are very well-developed. It’s a pleasure to read their interactions and both of the characters are really endearing. I think it would be a mistake to write off this story simply because of minor errors. Though it’s only eleven chapters in, it’s proving to be a very promising read and RuthlesslyYours is doing a fantastic job by and large. Don’t miss out on watching this story grow!

So far, the story consists of 16 chapters and a total of  63,866 words. The story is rated M for (future) lemons.

"A Kingdom Reborn" by ammNIwriter 2

Posted by Anonymous

King Edward has a serious problem: he is in desperate need of an heir yet his wife of fifteen years has miscarried once again. So he does what every royal in his position would do - he gets rid of Queen Tanya as quickly as possible. Once that is over and done with, Edward starts looking for a new wife and his eyes fall on one Isabella Swan, the daughter of the Earl of Suffolk, and an immense beauty at only eighteen years of age. The King makes arrangements to spend some more time with Isabella and soon comes to the decision that he wants her, and not his mistress' daughter Lauren, to be his new wife. Unfortunately, Bella is less than thrilled to hear about her upcoming nuptials as the King has not only a few problems with his temper but he often acts cold-hearted and cruel. To him, Bella is nothing but a way to finally get an heir; that she always yearned to marry out of love doesn't concern him in the least.

And he is not alone, because Isabella's parents Charles and Renee also couldn't care less what their daughter wants. Ever since she was born, they abused her physically and emotionally; calling her a whore and considering her nothing but a way to go up in ranks. Beatings are part of Bella's daily life and so the young woman aquieces to her parents' and the Kings wishes. Once the wedding ceremonies are over and the feast comes to a close, Edward lies with his Queen that night, taking her roughly, ignoring the pain his wife is in. It isn't until he is informed by his trusted doctor Carlisle that his animalistic behavior in the bedroom really hurt his wife and wounded her body that the King starts to change. He makes an honest effort to take good care of his Queen, even though he still tends to have outbursts. Soon, the two get closer and closer, developing feelings that neither ever felt before. Just then, Isabella gets pregnant, but will it be the son the King desires? And what will happen once Edward finds out about the abuse Bella has to endure?

Believe it or not, but I read this story in one sitting. Admittedly, it was a long one and it took me a few hours but I just couldn't put the fic away. A Kingdom Reborn is a thoroughly research historical fanfiction that is written in a very realistic way. Edward is just like every other king ruling at this time (17th century): chauvinistic, cold, and arrogant. For him, women are a way to get pleasure and produce children, both things that Tanya cannot give him. So he has a mistress whom he meets whenever he feels like it and he doesn't even feel the need to hide it. In fact, he sometimes even lets the door open so everyone can hear what he's up to. So many of the things he does and says are really cruel - from the way he gets rid of Tanya, to trying to kill Bella's dog, and brutally taking her virginity. Yet there is also a softer and sweeter version of Edward, a version that comes out more and more often the better he gets to know his new Queen. Bella is extremely wise for her age, yet often insecure enough to openly talk about the injustice done to her. That can be frustrating at times but it is simply part of her character. A very realistc fanfic that is written from a 3rd person's perspective! Enjoy!

A Kingdom Reborn consists of 17 chapters and a total of 50,935 words. The story is rated M for a few lemons and some angst.

“A Love Not Meant For This World” by sheviking 0

(banner made by Mina)

It's the year 79 AD. Pompeii is drowning in chaos as the Vesuvius roars and covers the sky with soot and fire. Amidst the ruins of the once rich city, a young Roman noblewoman runs along the cobblestone streets. But Bellona, as she was named by her father and mother, isn't running to save herself from the doom that befalls Pompeii, but to save the one person she has chosen for herself. The one person who makes everything worth it. The one person who taught her how to love.

She searches for him at the place they met - that enthralling place where she first laid eyes on him under the bright sun. Where he had stood in all his glory, a victor among the fallen...Back then, Bellona had been a young girl on a mission. She'd wanted to give herself to someone of her choosing. It was right there, in the arena of the colosseum that she found him. A champion of the blood and sand. She could immediately tell that he was from the North, and even though she had been warned about the barbarians from that area, she did not care a bit. Bellona wanted him to be the one to teach her the pleasure of the flesh before she was given in marriage to someone she despised. Eideard, or Victorinus as he is called, was very happy to oblige the wishes of the young noblewoman, who seeked him out right inside the slaves' quarters after his last victory. And that is exactly where Bellona runs to amidst the chaos - where she hopes to find him - inside the barracks of the colosseum. The place where the gladiator Eideard had rested after fighting every day -  for his life and for his Domina, Bellona.

This is the first work by sheviking that we've read and we gotta say that if her other stories are as good as this one-shot, then consider us a fan. It won first place in the 2012 Age of Edward contest in the Literotica category. Though not exactly accurate, the story is incredible well written and paints a clear picture of the time of the once so proud and beautiful city of Pompeii. The author drew inspiration from an actual find inside the city ruins and that just there was reason enough for us to read it. This is a romantic tale of two people fighting an already lost battle, and even though things are precarious once the volcano erupts, the story does have a happy ending. It might not be what most of you are used to, but both Domina and Eideard are able to be together and enjoy their love for eternity. So, give it a shot, when have we steered you wrong? ;)

A Love Not Meant For This World is a one-shot with a total of 11,306 words. The story is rated M for adult language and graphic sexual situations.

"Resisting Love" by just-a-crazy-fanpire 2

(banner made by Bethany)

The year is 1152 and Bella Swan lives happily with her older sisters Angela and Rosalie in England. The three girls put all their trust into their father, who is solely responsible for earning enough money to be able to provide and care for them. So far, Papa has never disappointed them but things change when their mother passes away a few years after Bella's birth. Not only do the girls and their father go through a difficult time full of grieving and sorrow but financial problems strike the family as well. As Charlie Swans cannot seem to pay of the loan he took out so many years ago, he makes a decision no father should ever make: he sells off his youngest daughter Isabella for marriage to a laird. Though the sisters are shocked to say the least, they know their father wouldn't make such a choice if it weren't absolutely necessary. So begrudgingly, Bella agrees to leave her family behind and get married to Laird Edward Cullen - a Scotsman. Needless to say, the latter doesn't make the situation any better for the future husband and wife, after all, the animosity between England and Scotland has been going on for years...

With both of them being stubborn and more than persistent in their personal beliefs and values, Edward and Bella begin to form a rather unique relationship. And though it takes days for Bella to get used to Edward's huge castle as well as his constantly changing mood-swings, she gradually starts accepting the fact that she now holds a high position as his wife. Moreover, his amazingly good looks make it difficult for Bella to come to terms with her conflicting feelings for him, and, before she knows it, she is head over heels for her husband. However, despite the immensely passionate nights that he spends with his attractive wife, Edward shies away from allowing the feelings he harbors for Bella to grow. Yes, he cares for her but unfortunately he doesn't trust her. Bella learns from his relatives that Edward has gone through an extremely tough time when he was just a little boy as witnessing the murder of his parents has been taking a toll on him. Knowing that, Bella does not force Edward to confide in her, even though there's nothing she wants more. And so they continue living their lives: with passionate love-making at night and refraining from opening up during the day. But what happens when the person responsible for the death of Edward's parents comes back and threatens to take away all he loves? Just when he thinks he has discovered something deeper than love with Bella, will it be snatched from his life once again?

Join historical Bella and Edward in this wonderfully written story by just-a-crazy-fanpire! What I love most about this fanfic is that each character has been given an immense amount of depth by the author. To adopt the writing style of the past is not an easy thing to do in the first place, and yet fanpire does an incredible job in not only doing that but also enabling the reader to connect with each of the characters. Your heart will definitely reach out to Edward for his troublesome past and to experience Bella thawing out his icy edges with the power of love is simply amazing. There are tons of historic/time period stories out there in the Twilight fandom, and let me tell you that this one is for sure in the top five of that category! Although the couple start out pretty rough in the beginning of the story, please have faith in the two because they do get their HEA (which makes all the angst in this story so worth the read!). You have to understand that they are from opposing families and not only do they have to learn to understand each other, but they also have to deal with their problematic pasts and need to face any future troubles. This story, that is written from a third-person's perspective, should not be missed at all. Laird Edward is waiting for you to check him out! ;D

Resisting Love consists of 27 chapters and 104,891 words. The story is rated M for lovely lemons and language.

"Volition" by Rochelle Allison 0

To Bella Swan, there’s nothing more painful than being hopelessly in love with her brother’s best friend and infamous womanizer, Edward Cullen. Especially when she believes to know that the man who owns her heart will never think of her as anything other than a little sister. In Belfast, Ireland, in 1972, the time calls for anything but for a rebel to fall in love. The involvement of Edward and Bella’s brother Emmett in the Irish Republican Army terrifies Bella to know end, but she keeps close to the two anyway, unable to resist Edward’s persuasive, green eyes. When Bella finds a gun, hidden under her bed by her brother Emmett, it’s Edward who ends up having to explain and their argument is quickly halted when he kisses Bella. The next day, a bomb blast strands them together in a shelter for the night. What Bella believed could only happen in her wildest dreams has suddenly become reality. She knows that falling in love with a rebel is the stupidest thing to do, given the circumstances. But she does it anyway.

Edward Cullen knows everything about his best friend’s little sister. He even knows that she’s been in love with him ever since she was old enough to start liking boys. With a sister of his own, he knows that the last thing he needs right now is putting another beloved person in danger through his activities. Unfortunately though, he just can’t seem to stay away from the beautiful brunette that he’s grown up with. When fate presents him with a night away from the violence; a night that allows him to spend it with the one girl he could never have, he can’t help but seize the moment. Now, he not only has to deal with lusting after his best friend sister anymore but also with his enemies targeting a woman that he simply can’t bare to lose. Can a girl-next-door and a rebel ever get their happy-ever-after?

Rochelle Allison is one of Twilight fanfiction’s most beloved authors, and for good reason. She knows exactly what to write and how to write it. The very first chapter is enough to get you hooked to the entire story. Her introduction of the characters is fluid and effortless and you will find yourself falling in love with them quickly due to their firm and likeable personalities. Another plus is the flawless grammar and spelling, which makes reading this story so much more pleasant. The plot itself is perfect - absolutely believable and heart-warming, and the fact that Bella and Edward are stuck in a forbidden love just adds that much more appeal to the story. Volition is a classic among Twilight fanfictions. Reading it is almost like a rite of passage. So if you haven’t read the story already, make sure you give it a shot!

Volition consists of 31 chapters and 150,667 words. The story is rated MA for descriptive sexual activities, foul language and slight violence.

"Cobblestones to Corsets" by TrueEnglishRose 3

(banner made by Mina)

Isabella was born as the daugther of farmer Charles Swan and has had a very simple upbringing. When she is still a teenager, her father passes away after a long illness and Bella takes over the responsibility to care for her sick mother and younger brother, Charles Jr. From making sure to earn enough money to be able to pay the rent, to organizing the household, Bella is dealing with it all. Additionally, she constantly has to worry about her poor mother, who is barely staying alive, as well  her brother, whose education is far too expensive. So at the tender age of 18, the young yet very mature woman, has many weights to carry on her shoulders and it is one cold winter that she eventually struggles with making ends meet. What she doesn't know is that, behind the scenes, a few people pull some strings to help her go through this difficult phase in her life...

Situated right next to the little cottage of the Swans, is the mansion of Lord Carlisle Cullen and his wife Esme, their landlords. For years, the latter has been best friends with Bella's parents and has always felt a special connection to the brown-haired girl. When Esme notices how much Bella struggles to keep a roof over her family's head and everyone fed, she is determined to help her with the payments. But her plans are ruined - or rather temporarily intervened - when Mrs. Swan eventually passes away. Esme decides to let Bella and her brother move into her home, at least for the amount of time the young woman needs to recover from the loss of her mother. Coincidentally, it just so happened that only a few days earlier, Esme and Carlisle's oldest son Edward was back in town and visited his parents. He sees Bella and is utterly fascinated by her. Yet Edward can't stop thinking about his late wife as he is constantly reminded of her by their two children. Meanwhile, Bella refuses to start any kind of romantic relationship until her brother's future has been settled, despite the fact that she likes Edward, too... Will the two of them be able to deny the intense chemistry they have between them?

Set in the 1800s, this story is very precise in capturing the details of the time period. Not only that, TrueEnglishRose manages to write a mind-boggling plot that will have you hooked until the very end! The story portrays Bella's and Edward's characters wonderfully. It is great to see a very independent Bella, who, despite what is expected of her, has her own opinions of how things should go (even such mundane things as not wanting to wear a corset). The way she behaves and thinks is extremely mature and your heart will break when you'll read about the impact she has on Edward due to her natural charme. Edward, on the other hand, is quite moody in the beginning; mainly because he is worried about raising his children without a mother. But with Bella interacting so well with both him and his kids, he is adamant on making her his wife. Unfortunately, Bella wants some time as she needs to figure things out and is slowly finding out what Carlisle and Esme have been doing behind her back. Don't worry folks, our sweet Edward is willing to wait for the love of his life and the story has an adorable HEA! This fanfiction is definitely one of the best out there and yet, there are many who have not read it - this is your opportunity! What are you waiting for? ;-)

Cobblestones to Corsets consists of 50 chapters and 96,588 words. The story is rated M for some language and sexual situations.

"Higher" by SexyLexiCullen 0

Posted by
(banner made by Mina)

It's the summer of 1994: dial-up Internet, pagers, Walkmans, AOL chat rooms, and O.J in a white Bronco. Bella Swan works part time at an ice cream parlor, making ice cream sundaes to save up money for college. Under the blazingly hot weather of Brooklyn, New York, where eighteen-year-old Bella  lives, she tries to pass the time with her best friends and without the interruption of her suddenly concerned mother, who up to this point, never really paid her any attention (that is, until she started dating the creeper named Phil, who Bella suspects checks her out when she comes out of the shower). Trying to stay away from her home (and Phil) as much as possible, she goes to her best friend Alice's house, who talks her and their common friend Rose into meeting up with a few guys she met on a chat room. After a long night full of Ecstasy, subway rides, dark dance clubs, and a boy she doesn't want to stay away from, everything changes for our sweet and not so innocent ice cream scooper. Thugward came barreling through and he was there to stay.

This story brought back a lot of great memories from the 90's. The setting is perfectly established and it almost feels like you are really going back in time. Like most of Lexi's story, Higher comes with a dash of the nitty-gritty reality that makes it intense with the perfect amount of romance. The story is mostly told from Bella's point of view, but we do catch a few glimpses of Edward here and there - or as the author calls him, Thugward. He is suave, a bit dark and filled with a whole lot of passion. Intense doesn't even come close to describe what Bella and Edward experience. One time was enough for them to realize there is no going back for either of them. But both of their lives aren't perfect and their pasts are even less so. They will have to fight to stay together and defend their relationship against relatives, people they thought were friends, and, sometimes, even themselves. But what they definitely won't be able to deny is that they, as a couple, are worth fighting for.
The story is filled with a lot of ups and downs, the funny moments make up for the drama our favorite couple goes through, not to mention the couple of almost-heart-attacks we had at later chapters. However, we promise it is a happily ever after for Thugward and his girl! It's a great story with short chapters that really made it a fast read. We actually couldn't put it down until we were finished! Go give it a shot, you won't regret embarking on this ride.

Higher consists of 40 chapters and 167,007 words. The story is rated MA for adult language, drug abuse, and hot sexual situations.

"A Tale" by totteacher 0

(banner made by Bethany)

Bella Swan grew up in a world where men treated women rashly; using them for their own pleasure and throwing them away later like a piece of trash. As she had to witness her mother going through exactly that kind of abuse daily, she naturally felt hatred towards Baron Sir James Welshford, who not only ill-reputed many women from his kingdom, but also had his father killed just to have her mother all to himself. Now, as an orphan of eighteen years, Bella works as a servant in the Welshford household: desperately trying to hide herself in dirt and a slouching gait in order to prevent men from getting too attracted to her.  She definitely didn't want the same fate as her mother. Her life is completely changed, however, when Lady Alice and her two brothers arrive at Welshford for a visit. Bella is assigned, rather unexpectedly, as Alice's personal servant, who is supposed follow and take care of every one of her commands and needs. Fortunately, dear Alice is a sweetheart and treats Bella more than nicely, especially when she finds out about her servant's personal history and learns that she wasn't actually born into slavery! She formulates a plan in her head: after making Bella "disappear" she tells everyone that her husband Jasper's sister is missing. She then orders Edward, her brother, to go find her...

Well, as superb as Alice's plan turns out to be, Edward is completely unaware of Bella's past and mistakes her for a royal Lady, falling in love with her immediately. It isn't long before he proposes to her and Bella readily accepts. All she sees is a bright future with this kind, gentle, and handsome young man, who completely managed to sweep her off her feet. But soon, she is overcome with guilt and eventually reveals the truth about herself to him. Surprisingly enough, Edward takes it pretty well and couldn't care less about who she was before they met. He loves her unconditionally and intends make her a true Lady by marrying her. Unfortunately, despite their beautiful wedding, Sir James still seems to have an evil eye out for Bella when he realizes that she is Renee's daughter; the same Renee, whom he ravished without control, eventually killing her. Now he has to have Bella too, but will Edward let that happen?

totteacher does an explicit job in writing such an amazing, and realistic, story. Though we don't know exactly when this story is set, one can deduce that it takes place some time in the 1800s. Her wonderful use of diction creates really a good imagery for readers as they feel like they are right into the story. The best part about this fanfiction is the intricate characters the author has built. The way Edward stands by Bella through everything makes your heart melt! It is also really great reading about how Bella overcomes her fears and grows as a person, discovering that not all men are cruel and treat women badly. Though she seems slightly naive in the beginning, we have to remember what Bella has gone through and witnessed in the past - it is not surprising that she has a rather dense idea about true love. That said, the moment she finally realizes her deep love for Edward is absolutely heart-warming! Yes, men like him really do exist! Don't worry, it is a HEA and I bet you will thoroughly enjoy yourself as you read about James' punishment! A story that one should definitely NOT miss!

A Tale consists of 30 chapters and 67,237 words. The story is rated M for mention of abuse and sexual activities.
