When Bella Swan wakes up one morning - tired, hung over, and really cranky - she isn't alone. Next to her lies a devastatingly handsome young man, whom she met the night before at a bar. She cannot remember much about what happened after they left but she knows it was amazing. Still, Bella feels uncomfortable and doesn't really know how to handle the situation. However, before she is able to sneak out of her apartment unnoticed, the young adonis wakes up and introduces himself as Edward. Awkwardly, the two part way (a.k.a. Bella throws him out politely), only to meet again at the NYC hospital. There, Bella has just started her internship and finds out that Edward is the resident assigned to her and her three young colleagues (Rose, Alice, and Jake). Embarrassed by what happened the night before, she tries to avoid Edward at all costs but as he is already way in over his head with her and won't just let her go...

Though Edward has just ended a three-year long relationship, he is more than willing to pursue whatever it is he feels for Bella. He's never met someone like her - witty, smart, adorable, and understanding - and can even imagine a future with her together. Too bad that Bella's insecurities and fears about violating the hospital's fraternization policy keep her from letting Edward in. It doesn't help that Bella desperately wants to become a surgeon, yet the Chief of Surgery at NYC is none other than Edward's father, Carlisle. Meanwhile, Edward's best friend, attending Dr. Jasper Whitlock, is giving up his manwhoring ways to chase after Tinker Bell a.k.a. Polly Pocket a.k.a. The Little Fairy a.k.a. Alice Brandon. The same Alice, who will later be there for Bella after she runs into someone from Edward's past that he'd rather have liked to keep a secret...

A Hard Day's Night was heavily inspired by Grey's Anatomy and if you are a fan of the show you will definitely recognize some scenes that have been borrowed by the wonderful SexyLexiCullen. This is one of her earlier works and not as angsty as some of her newer stories. In fact, this fanfic is, more than anything else, funny and romantic. The supporting characters lend some humor to A Hard Day's Night that will leave no eye dry. From Jasper, who's a bit of a nutcase yet a great friend to Edward, to Carlisle, who's more of a buddy to his son than an actual father, everyone has some kind of quirky side. All of them (btw: Emmett is an intern in another group) grow very close to each other and spend some memorable moments together. And once Edward and Bella, from whose POV this story is mainly written (there are a few chapters written from the POVs of some of the supporting characters), get their heads out of their as*** and give in to their feelings for each other, you are in a for a hilarious ride! A ride that includes some nice lemons, by the way! ;-) Enjoy!

A Hard Day's Night consists of 30 chapters and 209,631 words. The story is rated M for nice lemons and lots of profanities.

It's the summer of 1994: dial-up Internet, pagers, Walkmans, AOL chat rooms, and O.J in a white Bronco. Bella Swan works part time at an ice cream parlor, making ice cream sundaes to save up money for college. Under the blazingly hot weather of Brooklyn, New York, where eighteen-year-old Bella  lives, she tries to pass the time with her best friends and without the interruption of her suddenly concerned mother, who up to this point, never really paid her any attention (that is, until she started dating the creeper named Phil, who Bella suspects checks her out when she comes out of the shower). Trying to stay away from her home (and Phil) as much as possible, she goes to her best friend Alice's house, who talks her and their common friend Rose into meeting up with a few guys she met on a chat room. After a long night full of Ecstasy, subway rides, dark dance clubs, and a boy she doesn't want to stay away from, everything changes for our sweet and not so innocent ice cream scooper. Thugward came barreling through and he was there to stay.

This story brought back a lot of great memories from the 90's. The setting is perfectly established and it almost feels like you are really going back in time. Like most of Lexi's story, Higher comes with a dash of the nitty-gritty reality that makes it intense with the perfect amount of romance. The story is mostly told from Bella's point of view, but we do catch a few glimpses of Edward here and there - or as the author calls him, Thugward. He is suave, a bit dark and filled with a whole lot of passion. Intense doesn't even come close to describe what Bella and Edward experience. One time was enough for them to realize there is no going back for either of them. But both of their lives aren't perfect and their pasts are even less so. They will have to fight to stay together and defend their relationship against relatives, people they thought were friends, and, sometimes, even themselves. But what they definitely won't be able to deny is that they, as a couple, are worth fighting for.

The story is filled with a lot of ups and downs, the funny moments make up for the drama our favorite couple goes through, not to mention the couple of almost-heart-attacks we had at later chapters. However, we promise it is a happily ever after for Thugward and his girl! It's a great story with short chapters that really made it a fast read. We actually couldn't put it down until we were finished! Go give it a shot, you won't regret embarking on this ride.

Higher consists of 40 chapters and 167,007 words. The story is rated MA for adult language, drug abuse, and hot sexual situations.

1958: and Edward Medici gets out of prison and returns to his old neighborhood with a mission. The people who were the reason he spent the last ten years behind bars - the rats in his organization - would pay for what they did. However, a little vixen named Isabella Picara crosses his path and distracts him from his plan. He is enamored by the young thing and is forced to make a decision: go after Isabella or settle for the wife he already has. You know what they say: young women can act silly, but men like Edward Medici make bold gestures.

This story is written to represent the decade it is set in. The 1950s were certainly a different time, but more so for the women than for the men. This Gangstaward is tough, sometimes cruel, and a bit chauvinistic. This is not a sweet Edward, he had his moments, but this story is certainly not for the angst wimps. He is a child of the era, and while that certainly doesn’t excuse his treatment of his wife, it is what is it. Honestly, this fic made us think we were bipolar. One chapter we were happy and hating all those against Edward and Bella, and the next chapter we were crying our eyes out and hating Edward and Bella. Even our like and dislike for the other characters bounced like a pogo stick, but that shows how well Miss Lexi writes these crazy characters. It was easy to establish a connection with all of them and with the story in general.

 
Bold Gestures is told in both Edward and Bella’s point of view, so you will get the two sides of the coin. It certainly helps to understand why Bella started her chase for Edward in the first place, even though she knew who he was and to whom he was married to. They are both human and make mistakes, but at the end of the day, you can’t help but to wish them the best. We are not gonna lie, we hated the fact Edward got involved with someone so young, but it takes two to tango, and Bella certainly gave chase as much as Edward. In the end, the story did exactly what we were looking for: it pulled us in, made us fall for the main characters, it had a consistent plot, and then gave us the happy ending we were rooting for. We just went through a gamut of emotions and cursed out a lot, not to mention it costs us a jar of nutella in Ana’s case and a bottle of vodka in Mel’s, but we believe the story was worth it. Go ahead, angst lovers. Give it shot!
