"Up To Speed" by ericastwilight 0

(banner made by Jaime)

Edward Cullen is a professional race car driver who has managed to wreck his car yet again at a particular bad moment. This race was the last chance for him to prove to his sponsors that supporting him financially would not only be immensely helpful to him but very profitable for them as well. Needless to say, he failed miserably. So together with his pit crew Jasper, Alice, Emmett, and Rosalie, he starts looking for new sponsors and meets intelligent engineer Isabella Swan. She is not only willing to fix up Edward's race car but also offers him to add the best features to it so he can attract the sponsors he needs. In return, Bella wants to work with Edward in changing his public image, which means no more partying, no random girls, and definitely no more attitude for the young man. The deal is so well-thought out by Bella that Edward cannot help but accept the deal made by this infuriatingly sexy and smart young woman. She has the power to propel his career forward but can also bring him to his knees. But there is also something about her that makes Edward question her honorable intentions. Why is she so eager to do everything so quickly and with barely getting anything in return? When he confronts her about the matter, Bella is unable to lie to him and reveals that she has a heart condition and probably no more than 24 months left to live...

Up To Speed is a wonderful story that will completely take you by surprise! This is not a typical Racerward storyline and the twist of Bella's disease will have you completely hooked! What I really loved and admired about this fanfiction was how well the characters were written by ericastwilight; that despite the huge hurdle that was in Bella's life, she still refuses to let someone see her as anyone but the beautiful, comfortable, and strong woman that she is. Until Edward comes along, that is, and sees through her almost right away. Speaking of, this Edward is simply amazing! I mean, who wouldn't want a hot race car driver to stop all of his nasty and rude habits in order to be with you for the rest of his life?! He is extremely supportive of Bella and despite her heart condition, decides to shower her with every ounce of love in his body until her time is up - or is it? Will the two be able to have their eternal bliss after all? Well, I am not going to reveal too much about this story but it is one that shouldn't be missed at any cost. So go click on the link below and get reading ;)!!

Up To Speed consists of 39 chapters and a total of 145,663 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual content.

"Caught Looking" by Marvar 0

Posted by Anonymous
(banner made by Jaime)

Over the years, Bella Swan has developed a very grumpy attitude towards the world and especially towards baseball players. The reason for that lies in her less-than-spectacular childhood: first, her mother left her husband Charlie to run off with baseball player Phil Dwyer, then Renee dies in a car crash that said baseball player caused because he was driving under the influence of alcohol, then the di** of a sportsman signs away the parental rights to his son Seth - leaving him in Bella's care, and finally, Bella and her half-brother are kicked out of their home by Charlie, who doesn't want anything to do with the "bastard child". As all of it started with an a**hole of a baseball player, Bella is determined to never trust one of them again. Ever.

So, while carefully avoiding anyone playing for her college baseball team, the Arizona Wildcats, Bella indulges in her love for science, more specifically chemistry. Together with her geeky friend Jasper (who is a die-hard fan of Harry Potter and works on developing an invisibility cloak, among other things) she works at the office of her Chemistry professor Dr. Banner, answering the phone and doing research for her MA thesis. One day, a man with an enticingly charming and sexy voice calls the office, asking for Jasper. And even though Bella passes on his messages, Jasper never returns the calls, causing the mysterious man to pay a visit. The moment Bella lays eyes on the handsome man before her, her ovaries explode and fuzzy feelings take over her body. Edward Cullen is gorgeous, charming, polite, smart, and sweet - everything she is looking for in a man. If it wasn't for one thing: he plays for the Wildcats...

H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S! That's Caught Looking in a nutshell! Marvar did an amazing job in creating characters who are both indredibly smart and so funny they will have you in hysterics! Especially Jasper and Alice will leave no eye dry. With his obsession with everything Harry Potter-related, his crazy T-shirts, and even crazier apps, he is the ultimate geek. It takes a small make-over and the right girl before someone can... *cough*... ride his broom... which would be Alice. The latter is full of sexual innuendoes and, as a law student, prepares contracts for everything and everyone. Among other things, she comes up with a sexual contract for Jasper and a friendship contract for Bella. The Edward in this story - which is, except for one chapter, completely written from BPOV - is amazingly sweet and willing to fight for Bella. Even though she refuses his advances in the beginning, a few adorable love notes allow him access to her heart... and body. These two are insatiable and can't keep their hands off each other. Even though the epilogue is missing, the story comes to a more or less satisfying ending. Go ahead and read it for yourselves, you won't regret it!

Caught Looking consists of 26 chapters and a total of 45,967 words. The story is rated MA for foul language and graphic lemons.

"Little Fish, Big Fish" by Paige Parkker & Michelle M. Marie 0

(banner made by time-lights)

Unique, quirky, and honest Bella Swan has just lost her mother and embarks on a roadtrip to Forks with her best friend Jasper, In the small rainy town, Bella will have to live with her father Charlie, who she really doesn't know, but allows her and Jasper to stay together, like they have always been, in order to get to know the daughter he missed. Bella is a free spirit and not really happy about having to spend any amount of time in that small town in Washington. The young woman is the definition of a flower child with an unique sense of fashion. She likes to smoke pot and commune with nature. Her love for photography and art is also a useful way to cope with the pain of losing her mother. Jasper is her same soul and rock, she shares a special relationship with him and relies on it to help her move on.

Meanwhile, handsome, intelligent, manwhore Edward Cullen is bored and done with his life. Edward is the popular jock of Forks High, wanted by all the girls and envied by all the guys. However, he is unhappy with his life for he was molded into being the perfect student and athlete by his di*k of a father. Luckily, Edward has the support of his mother, but the obligation he feels to carry on his older brother's legacy has him stuck between a rock and hard place. It is in this mindframe that he meets Bella. Both Bella and Edward have no idea what will happen when their universes collide, but it could likely be the change they have both been waiting for. Follow the life of Bella and Edward as they meet in high school, fall in love, and part painfully only to reunite as adults – under very different circumstances.

Little Fish, Big Fish is a collab between Paige Parkker - who writes the point of view of funny and quirky Bella - and Michelle M Marie - who writes the point of view of morose and manwhore Edward. Though Edward and Bella are so different, they still seem to be perfect for each other. There were some funny moments that had us belly laughing, as well as heart-breaking ones that had us reaching for the ice cream and booze. Both Bella and Edward have issues, but together they discover more about life and themselves than they he could have ever imagined. This story is all about growing up, learning from your mistakes, and making amends. It is an amazing read, one you won't regret, and the happily ever after is just right, not over done, simply like it was always meant to be. So, go check out this great story and don't forget to leave a review!

Little Fish, Big Fish consists of 35 chapters and a total of 237,245 words. The story is rated MA for lemons, coarse language and drug use.

"Summer of Salt" by lola-pops 3

Posted by Anonymous

Every year, 19-year old Bella Swan and her cousins, the twins Rosalie and Jasper Hale, spend the summer at the log cabins their parents own in Northern California. For almost three months, the three do nothing but sleep, drink, take swims in the lake, and hang out. This year, however, they are joined by three people who will changes their lives forever. First, Charlie Swan informs Bella that Alice Brandon, the daughter of a good business partner, will stay with them for a couple of weeks. Alice has been massively abused by her former boyfriend and needs some time out. Though shy and very introverted, the moment she meets Jasper, the petite woman starts to live again. And just as taken as Jasper is with the little pixie, Bella and Rose are the minute they run into Edward and Emmett Cullen; or rather, the minute the guys run into them. Without asking if it's okay, the two handsome young man just join the group that has gathered around a nice bonfire and take part in the conversation. Bella is immensely attracted to the star quarterback at Texas A&M, who simply looks delicious in the black wife beater he's wearing. And even though Edward cannot seem to take his eyes off the beautiful brunette, he tells her rather rudely that she is not his type. What Bella doesn't know is that he outright lied to her...

Because Bella Swan is SO Edward's type; in fact, he is so mesmerized by her that he can hardly keep himself from having his wicked way with her. But what Edward realizes pretty quickly is that Bella is not like the other girls he usually likes to spend his time with. Because as a notorious womanizer, the young quarterback loves a one-night stand here and there and hardly ever keeps a girl longer than for a few days. He rarely remembers the names of his latest conquests and couldn't care less about his feelings. With Bella, however, Edward wants more and he knows she feels the same. Bella is the kind of girl who deserves nothing short of a relationship, yet the problem is that Edward cannot give her one, at least that's what he tells himself. But he also cannot keep his distance from her any longer, so the inevitable happens and the two start "fooling around" for the next couple of weeks. Bella is on cloud nine but receives the shock of her life when Tanya walks in, kisses Edward, and happily shares her sexual encounters with him...

Though Summer of Salt is fun to read and will have you smirk more often than not, there are also many moments which will give you a sick feeling in your stomach. Edward is a womanizer and even Bella cannot change that over night - though she comes pretty close. He is fooling around with other girls, despite his feelings for the brunette he left behind in California, and though you don't actually read about these encounters (well, not much at least), they still kind of hurt and one can relate to how Bella must feel. The story is written from both characters' POV but with slighty more chapters from Bella's perspective. The lemons are nicely written but not overly graphic as the heart of the story really isn't sex but the group of six, their chemistry, and friendship. All of them are really funny and never leave out an opportunity to make a joke. You will probably shed some tears while reading this fic, some from laughing, some from sadness. But you will definitely enjoy it anyway!

Summer of Salt consists of 26 chapters and 88,646 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities, angst, and profanities. Two outtakes of the fanfic can be found here.

"Evening the Score" by DH78 0

Posted by
(banner made by Bethany)

Both, Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan, thought that they had everything going for themselves. Edward had a different woman every night and Bella never thought too much about relationships and commitment either. With Edward being an upcoming soccer star and Bella on her way of being a talented journalist, both of them also had their dream careers; so needless to say, life was pretty sweet. Until the night they meet, that is. Bella runs into Edward in an elevator and finds him caught in a passionate embrace with a "Leggy Blonde".  Though Bella acknowledges him as attractive, his sly smirks turn her away. But confident Edward isn't willing to give up so easily. When they meet at a cocktail party after a game, Edward is determined to make sure Bella knows that she's his. It doesn't take long for them to get into bed together, even though neither of them knows what to expect of it.

Incidents in their pasts have turned Edward and Bella jaded and relationship weary. For both of them, things have never gone the way they planned, causing them to develop a certain disdain for the r-word, yet they still find themselves falling hard for each other. As "vulnerable" has never been part of either of their vocabularies, they'll have to learn the hard way to trust and appreciate each other like they've never done before. When things finally seem to fall in place, though, they get thrown for a curveball that leaves them struggling to regain control of their lives. After all, in a world full of publicity, vengeful enemies, and crazy sexual tension, changing their ways isn't as easy as it seems. Will two people who personify trust issues be able to put them aside and believe in each other? Or will they let their pasts dictate their future?

Evening the Score is a fanfiction that definitely leaves the reader intrigued. The thing I found very unusual yet also the most interesting about this story, is that Bella is just as much of a player as Edward. That's something that you don't see often in Twific, and it is quite refreshing. For all you readers out there, who are sick of only always seeing Edward in control, you'll definitely love this DH78's Bella; a Bella, who can definitely hold her own and does so repeatedly. She takes everything that Edward has to give and throws it right back at him. Bella Swan is no damsel in distress, that's for sure! The plot is interesting and very well paced. Though there are a few spelling and grammar issues, this fanfic is one that you shouldn't miss. If you're looking for some great sexual tension and strong characters, Evening the Score is the story you should read!

Evening the Score consists of 20 chapters and 103,266 words. The story is rated MA for foul language and explicit sexual content.

"Major Misconduct" by m7707 0

(banner made by Jaime)

"I officially met Edward Cullen the first day of my junior year in high school." And things were never the same for Isabella Swan after that. Strictly speaking, popular hockey player Edward Cullen and shy Bella Swan should never have had the connection that they did. Once they meet, though, there’s no stopping them. Introduced in biology class and held together by their mutual friends, Edward and Bella spend more and more time together. Edward can’t stop thinking about the timid, brown-eyed beauty and Bella can’t believe that he’s still after her, even after he’s witnessed her clumsiness: "Be safe. If you fall, I won’t be around to catch you until then." They’re both oblivious to the other’s attraction and, like true high-schoolers, need several pushes in the right direction to get to where they both want to be. Sweet first kisses and dates on the ice rink set up what will become one epic romance. But things can’t stay perfect forever...

Just as things between the new couple become better than either of them had dreamed of, Edward’s past comes back to haunt him. And Bella. When James, a vengeful and criminally bloodthirsty rival of Edward’s comes back, it is not just Edward who gets burned. Soon, Bella finds herself constanly having to watch her back in order to make sure that she doesn’t fall in the hands of a villain. Edward never thought he'd see the day when his enemies would put his girlfriend in danger, and now that it's happening, it's taking everything in him not to go mad with guilt. When he closes his eyes, all he sees is the broken, battered body of the girl he loves more than anything else. Will love be enough to keep them coming back to each other? We were young, and we’d learned the hard way that nothing in this life was certain, but there was no doubt in my mind we had something very special together.

Major Misconduct may have started off as a high-school love story, but the kind of love I read in this story is so much beyond just that. The first time I read this story, it left me speechless. The second time, it warmed my heart. The third time, I finally realized why I kept coming back for more, which is because this story has everything. It has humor, drama, romance, family, friendship, and just the right amount of fear. It’s also very real. At the end of the day, they’re high school students, and m7707 knows how to make it believable. In everything they do, though, it’s clear that they love each other deeply. It starts off as watching each other from afar, to flirting, to being willing to die for each other. The way m7707 wrote this fanfiction - which is completely written from Bella's POV - made sure that I was captivated by it from page one and I could hardly stop reading until I reached the end of the last chapter. Despite the minimal grammatical errors, m7707’s writing is simply perfect. This is a story that no one should miss out on!

Major Misconduct consists of 36 chapters and 160,515 words. This story is rated MA for language, a little violence, and descriptive sexual activities. Coincidental Major, the events written from Edward's POV, can be found here.

"First and Ten" by Nolebucgrl (guest review by Susan) 0

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5874934/
(banner made by Jaime)

Bella Swan is a college football reporter, aspiring to make it to the big leagues and be able to interview the top players of the NFL. At a bar, she runs into Edward Cullen, one of the league's best and definitely hottest quartbacks. The two hit it off immediately and their electric energy between them is palpable in the air. Yet when they are about to hit, a fangirl ruins the moment by slipping Edward her number, causing Bella to become jealous and angry. She shows Edward the cold shoulder and leaves him confused and annoyed. The next morning, they meet again at Jasper's house, as Bella was far too drunk to go back home alone. It allows them to hash out their insecurities and misconceptions about each other, so that they hesitantly decide to embark on a relationship. A relationship that will transform both their lives irrevoacably...

Edward, who has only ever experienced superficial and shallow relationships, quickly grows attached to his quirky, yet refreshingly honest girl. At the same time, Bella finds out quickly that her gorgeous, strong football player also has a very sweet side to him. With their friends Jasper, Alice, Emmett, and Rose strung along for the ride, their lives soon intertwine seamlessly with one another as if it was always supposed to be this way. Bella's job, a few jealous colleagues, and desperate fangirls tend to put a strain on Edward and Bella's  relationship, but the hilarity of Emmett's antics and their friend's sweet behaviors always make up for it. Can a football-player and a reporter, who is forced to be completely unbiased, ever be together and keep their jobs?

Aside from the excellent quality of writing (grammar and spelling-wise), intriguing characters, and great dynamic, First & Ten is one of those stories that you keep coming back to. It's a fairly old story in fanfiction terms (being first published in 2010) and a classic example of "old is gold". Nolebucgrl is an excellent writer and her love for writing and football just leaps off the page. When I read the first chapter, I instantly knew that I'd enjoy this fanfic very much. It has one of the most memorable beginnings ever when Edward and Bella meet in the locker room - reporter and football-player - and the sexual tension is utterly palpable. The chemistry is only heightened by the fact that he's only in a towel and the two are supposed to remain nothing but professional. Anyone with a locker room fetish will absolutely love this scene as well as the rest of the story! Nolebucgrl is very diverse in her writing abilities and you can be sure that her characters will offer plenty of personality to keep you interested! If you haven't read this fanfic already (it's very popular after all), I'd definitely recommend it! And if you have read it already, then it's definitely worth it the second time! A MUST READ!

First and Ten consists of 55 chapters and a total of 375,555 words. The story is rated M for foul language and sexual activities.

"Learn You Inside Out" by wolfpgirl 0

(banner will be made by Jaime)
Edward Cullen had everything in his life: he grew up in a rich and loving family and was on the best way of becoming a doctor at the University of Maryland. But a tragic event strikes him so hard that he drifts to a dark place, abandons his family, and withdraws to himself completely. The once lively and loving Edward slowly turns into a broody and angry young man. Yet still, luck seems to somehow be on his side as he miraculously manages to receive an amazing scholarship from the University of Washington; offering him to start a second career as a football player. Considering that he is in dire need of money and a new persective in life, Edward accepts the Dean's offer, but also needs to accept some conditions. As the Dean is well aware of Edward's escapades in the past he is only willing to welcome him to UW if he either stays in his dorm room all the time, thoroughly watched by surveillance cameras, or goes to live in an apartment with four other young people, one of whom will keep an eye on him. Needless to say, Edward chooses option number 2 and finally becomes the newest member of the Huskies Football Team...

What he doesn't expect is that his four new roommates will change his life irrevocably. First of all, Edward shares the apartment with three women - Alice, Rosalie, and Bella - and one guy - Emmett. The latter is supposed to keep Edward in check all the time and informs him rather harshly that he'd better stay the hell away from his girlfriend Rose. Moreover, Emmett also wants him to stay clear of Alice's and Bella's way all the time and, for now, that doesn't sound like too big of a challenge for Edward. At least until he meets Bella. Though the two don't start off on good terms when they meet, the still realize quickly that they suffer from similar traumatic pasts. Edward falls hard for her but is patient enough to let her set the pace of the relationship. They both decide to continue whatever is happening between them in secret for a while, at least until Emmett gets a lot more comfortable around Edward. But of course, their plan doesn't work and Emmett finds out way too suddenly for their liking. What will happen then? And will Bella's and Edward's pasts eventually break them apart?

I can't believe I did not find this story earlier! In the vast Twilight fandom, it seems as though Learn You Inside Out was hidden somewhere and I had to dig hard and deep to find it. But now that I did, I strongly encourage everyone to read it! This story has is all: whether you are looking for angst, a sexy Sportward, who aspires to become a doctor (gah! I need a fan!), lovely lemons, comfort, fluff, or even some college drama - I don't think there is anything this story lacks! wolfpgirl has also created great character personalities apart from the awesome plot-line. She manages to include a peppy Alice as a dance leader for the Huskies and the girlfriend of Edward's best friend Jasper; a bold and car-loving Rose and her lover, the overprotective bear, Emmett; as well as our lovely Edward and a dancing Bella all into one! Furthermore, you will never miss out on both Edward's and Bella's thinking since the story alternates between their respective points of view. The story will clench your heart in ways you have probably never experienced before and leave you hooked until the very last word, leaving you sighing happily at the end. Experience a superb written fanfiction that I'm sure you'll enjoy more than the best rollercoaster you have ever sat in - no kidding! So WORTH THE READ!!!

Learn You Inside Out consists of 31 chapters and 163,199 words. The story is rated M for foul language, mature discussions, and lemons.

"Shadowboxer" by nobloodnofoul 1

Posted by Anonymous

When her stepfather Phil becomes a little bit too friendly for Bella's liking the young woman decides to pack her bags and leave. All she takes with her are a few essentials and her good old red truck, which brings her all the way to Chicago. There, she manages to get a job at "The Ring", a gym owned by Emmett McCarty. She is about to familiarize herself with her new working place and the many rooms she has to keep clean from now on when she stumbles upon an unconcious young man, who looks like he was beating badly. Knowing that she just can't leave him on the cold floor of the locker room, Bella takes him home, after being able to coax his name - Edward - and address from him. Once she's at Edward's home, she cleans him up carefully, makes him some breakfast, and tidies up his fancy apartment. When he finally comes back to the living, he asks her, who she is... and if she would stay.

When Edward regains consciousness he is more than suprised to find a nice and utterly beautiful young girl in his home. Bella catches his attention from the moment he lays eyes on her and he can't help but feel completely captivated by her. So when she tells him that she has to go to work soon, he doesn't even think twice before asking her to come back. And when she does, the two spend the most passionate night of their lives together. The next morning, Edward explains to Bella that he is a professional (though not legal) underground boxer and as he is pretty good at what he's doing, he earns a lot of money. Bella seems to be rather fine with what he does and also promises him to keep his profession a secret. The two start a sweet romance but soon have to realize that they are walking down a bumpy road. From the fact that Bella hides from Edward that she has no place to stay and sleeps in her truck, to his over-protectiveness and her real reason for leaving her home, the new couple has to work through issue after issue. The cherry on top: Edward's fight against James, a man who never learned to play fair!

Shadowboxer is an immensely well written story, presented from both Edward's and Bella's POV. Both of the main characters are strong headed and used to get their way, so now that they have to find compromises to live with each other, sparks fly. But Edward and Bella are more than willing to make it work as both realize pretty quickly that their feelings for each other are deep. Unfortunately, due to her tragic past, Bella has some difficulties trusting others and believing in a lasting relationship, something that will cause fights and misunderstandings more than once! The fanfiction contains some angst and lots of violence. Edward is extremely hot headed and when someone accidentally runs into Bella he literally pummels the shit out of that guy. Yet beneath all the drama you'll find a couple, who couldn't be more perfect for each other! The only question is, will they see it? A wonderful story without typos and grammatical mistakes! You will be greatly entertained, and let's be honest, who doesn't like strong and muscular Fighterward! ;-)

Shadowboxer consists of 21 chapters and a total of 171,703 words. The story is rated MA for lemons, foul language and violence.

"Overtime" by missmargo 0

 (banner made by time_lights)

As a writer for the magazine "Woman Today" Bella Swan finds herself working on an article about the shadowing experience of three women, who traveled with the the Colorado ice hockey team for ten months. Unfortunately, Bella has to accompany those women in order to write a genuine article. She is less than thrilled but gives the whole thing a chance for the sake of her career. So the young woman leaves the warmth of Florida to arrive at snow, ice, and hockey skates. As the team hopes to gain a positive image from Bella's article they try their best in making her as comfortable as possible. That includes paying for all of the accomodations and welcoming her into the family. There is the team's head coach Carlisle Cullen and his wife Esme, their daughter Alice, who's dating goalee Jasper Whitlock, son Emmett, who is engaged to Rosalie Hale, and, last but not least, son Edward, the team's superstar.

Bella and the Cullens soon become close friends. She and Edward are the only singles of the group and it doesn't take long for the hunk to fall hard for the journalist. Yet Bella doesn't want that her new family thinks she's a gold digger and only doing this to have access to fame and money. And most definitely she doesn't want to be fired by Esme (or her magazine) for exactly that reason. So she turns Edward's advances down; what she didn't expect, however, is that the young man doesn't give up that easily. How convenient that Bella's bedroom window can be seen from the apartment of Alice and Jasper... Will Edward and Bella be able to have a relationship? And what will Edward do once his ex Tanya comes back to town? Is she serious in her threats to ruin Bella?

If you ever feel in the mood for some good Sportsward, that fanfiction is definitely a must read for you! The lovely hockey men of Overtime really manage to melt the ice: Emmett will have you in stitches and Edward and Bella will have you running to the freezer to cool off. This story has humor, romance, drama (both on and off the ice), and a pinch of angst. Overall, all the great and necessary ingredients to create a wonderful Sportsward fanfic! I'm sure you'll become fans of Overtime in no time!

Overtime consists of 33 chapters and a total of 135,259 words. It's rated M for lemons, language, and adult matters.

After having served him a cup of coffee, Bella Swan developed a serious crush on hockey star Edward Cullen. Watching him enter the coffee joint and taking his order (a stale coffee) quickly became the highlight of her day. So when he doesn't show up for four long days in a row, Bella believes he might have simply chosen another place to give him his dosis of coffeine. The fact that she might have thought he had taken an interest in her as well, only plays a minor role in her disappointent (or so she thinks). Because, if she thinks about it rationally, her feelings for Edward weren't that strong after all. So is completely taken off guard when the young man suddenly sneaks up on her and before she knows it the two of them have a date. From now on, their lives will be full of playoffs, awkward flirting, and flighty mothers. And what happens when Edward's ex, Victoria, suddenly appears from out of nowhere? Prepare for a whole "lotta lovin"!

Prettykittyartist has written a great story; in fact, it is one of the few stories out there that realistically captures a girl's emotions. We see how Bella struggles to maintain a relationship with her best friend, her flighty mother, and her devoted boyfriend. Although the structure of sentences and dialogues in the fanfiction seem slightly T rated, the story as a whole depicts a great, realistic plot which will keep you hooked with a light heart. Join Bella as she overcomes the trouble of maintaining an intense relationship which involves Edward to travel a lot, the constant nagging of her mother, and the heartfelt, motherly figure played by Bella's boss, Rosalie. Even though Bella tends to be slightly over-dramatic in the story, the author has written other characters, especially Edward, to balance out her emotions and comfort her at most times. This drama filled romantic comedy will surely have you laugh, cry, and die with all the love stuffed into it. Furthermore, the lemons included in the story will have you sigh contently at the couple's love for one another. Romance, humor, and dramatic conflicts; what more can you ask for from a great story such as this? A story that is definitely underrated and should be given a try!

So far, Slapshot consists of 22 chapters and a total of 64,901 words. The story is rated M for sexual activities and some violent scenes.

"Take the Ice" by BellaMarie117 5

 (banner made by Mandy)

Ice princess and Olympic silver medalist figure skater Bella Swan had always envisioned her future to be full of success. Yet when she fell hard during practice and injured her knee, chances of her getting back on the ice became slim. Disheartened by the terrible turn of events as well as her incredibly pushy mother's disappointment in her, Bella decides to escape from her life for a bit and moves to her hometown, Minnesota. At the airport, she meets a strikingly handsome young man who helps her with her baggage and escorts her safely to a taxi. The two connect instantly but when they go their separate ways again, all Bella knows is that is first name is Edward and that he has the most beautiful set of emerald green eyes she had ever seen...

But luck is still somewhat on her side when she meets two lovely young ladies: Alice and Rosalie. As they live right next to her, they take care of Bella and before she even knows it, they have become her new best friends - a new experience for Bella since she had always doubted other people's intentions with her being a famous ice skater. Yet despite the fact that the young woman is finally beginning to lead a somewhat normal life, she can't get the constant negative comments from her mother on getting back on the ice out of her mind. Furthermore, tantalizing Edward has never escaped far from her thoughts since she saw him last. So, to say that she is positively surprised when she sees him again at a hockey game would be an understatement. It turns out that Edward, and Alice's and Rose's boyfriends, Emmett and Jasper are successful NHL players on the ice. What follows the intense plot is a roller-coaster of emotions, but will Bella be able to return Edward's strong feelings for her? And will she ever be able to compete again and deal with her mother at the same time?

Get ready and tighten your skates for this wonderful ride of a story! When I was reading it, I was captured by it from the very first chapter and found myself actually going through it as if it told the story of my own life, not Bella's. Such is the power of BellaMarie117; she really pulls you into the story and creates a real life experience of what it means to be on the ice. With regards to the other characters, let me say that you would often find a super bubbly Alice and a mean Rose in fanfics but Take the Ice will have you adore the two women to pieces with the way they maturely stand by Bella through thick and thin. And with the two women come their partners, Jasper and Emmett. Rest assured, you will find that these guys will manage to shove back the tension and make you laugh out loud at their special antics. And where do I even begin with our lovely Edward? He made me fall in love with his character even more, if that is even possible. He's the most patient, loving, and considerate partner any girl out there could hope for! He really brings out the funny feeling in your stomach when you are reading and is a stark contrast to Bella's frustrations. Did I already mention hot make-out sessions and smut? Don't be intimidated by the story's length because trust me, it's really worth it! You will regret it if you don't read, big time!

Take the Ice consists of 26 chapters and a total of 425,876 words. The fanfiction is rated M for language and sexual situations.

"Never Said I Didn't" by purelyamuse 2

"You got a ballpark for that?"
"Wrigley."
"Dammit."

Edward's having a bad day. His parents are separating and his girlfriend is as insensitive as she is clueless. The only person who could make his day better is his best friend and next-door neighbor, Bella Swan. She knows him backward and front and will know exactly what to say and do to help ease his worries. However, what he doesn't see coming is a surprise kiss initiated by he himself followed by an intense chemistry that throws Edward completely off whack. But one slip of the tongue from a flabbergasted Edward and Bella is slamming on the breaks.

Suddenly Bella is longer seen as his tomboy next-door neighbor/best friend with a killer curveball. Now everything about her he once overlooked and took for granted are shining through as amazing and desirable--and those knee high baseball socks she wears all the time are super hot! How did he not notice these things before? With his new revelation, Edward begins the task of winning Bella Swan's heart back. Because she sure as hell has his. And it really doesn't help that she's been hanging out with that Jake guy, and his older siblings keep giving him crazy advice, oh and his parents are still separating. What's a guy to do?

First of all, anything written by purelyamuse is unmistakably going to be pure gold. Never Said I Didn't is yet another 'homerun' for this author. Written entirely in EPOV, the reader gets into the mind of your typical teenage boy. But this one has a heart of gold--well, once he gets his head out of his ass. Character development is definitely accomplished in this "June witfit prompts" inspired tale. I loved reading Edward's hilarious thoughts and Bella's sassy attitude. These two really are made for each other and they are so freaking adorable! Oh, and bonus points to purelyamuse for having a side plotline with Edward's parents. I felt it was a wonderful contrast to Edward's pursuit of Bella.

Never Said I Didn't consists of 23 chapters and 72,786 words. This fic is rated M for language and adult content.

"Yosemite Decimal" by MagTwi78 0

After graduating with a college degree in journalism, Bella spends two years travel writing for various tourism blogs. Her growing up in Forks, Washington made her appreciate and enjoy the nature already at a young age. As a child she spent countless hours in the outdoors with her dad and just now, the young woman discovered her love for rock climbing.
After an humiliating break-up, Bella decides to leave her hometown and move to Seattle. There, she takes on a job as an outdoor web writer for The Seattle Times and quickly befriends with the newspaper's fashion editor, Alice. Her excitement could not be bigger when she hears that there is a rock gym not too far away. Bella rushes to Rock Face only to find Alice, her boyfriend Jasper as well as her brother Emmett and Rose, the owners. From time to time she runs into their cousin Edward, a cocky and arrogant young man, whom Bella dubs the "bulldozer".

For her next assignment, Bella invites her four new friends to a weekend climbing trip. Unexpectedly, Alice brings Edward along and the group of six drives off enjoying exhilerating climbs, good food and a fun games of Truth or Dare. Soon, Bella learns that Edward's coldness is due to a horrible event in his past for which he blames himself heavily. In fact, it has weight him down so much that he cannot climb anymore. On the last day of their trip, the friends decide to head home early as the weather is far too bad for climbing. Unfortunately though, the roads are soon completely washed over, making it impossible for them to get back home. Stuck with each other in an empty cabin for at least a couple of days, Edward and Bella realize that they need to move on from their pasts and learn to trust others again if they want to lead a happy life. Will Bella get Edward to climb again? And can Bella forget the humiliation of her previous relationship and put her heart on the table for Edward?

Yosemite Decimal is such a fun story! In all the time I've been reading Twilight fanfiction I've never come across a story like this before - I mean, have you ever read a fanfic where a lemon takes place on a rock climbing wall? Me neither. In a captivating and deep way, the author combines the technical side of rock climbing (you'll learn many climbing terms) with the personal stories of our favorite characters. Except for one brief moment of angst, Yosemite Decimal will have you laughing, fanning yourself, or going "Ahhh". Trust me, you won't regret reading it!

Yosemite Decimal consists of 129,560 words and 23 chapters. The story is rated M for language and lemons on a rock climbing wall.

"The Give Away Girl" by MrsSpaceCowboy 1

Welcome to the 90's.

Bella is unintentionally living two lives. One in Forks with her dad and her three best girlfriends who are like family; and another in Port Angeles with her mother and the fake privileged kids who have too much money and not enough supervision. Her only ally in PA is Emmett, a big bear of a guy with a jovial outlook and impenetrable tolerance for not only her bullshit, but everyone else’s. It’s why he’s the only one who would willingly head over to Forks at the end of summer vacation to visit Bella and her wild and crazy friends—dubbed “The Pack.” But this year brings change in the form of Emmett’s slightly nerdy cousin, Edward Cullen. Shy and nervous with shaggy hair and glasses, he approaches Bella with caution, but reverence. In fact, he’s pretty determined to make sure they become friends as soon as possible. Especially since school is about to start and he's the new guy.

They connect almost instantly and quickly become an inseparable item. It’s then that Bella sees the true Edward, a boy who is unsure of himself, but on the brink of figuring it out. Like baseball for example, he’s a great player and wants to try out this year for PA, much to Bella’s apprehension. She knows the guys who play on the team and wants Edward as far away from their poison as possible. But no one wants a controlling girlfriend, so with a forced smile she encourages him to and soon he's on the team. That fake smile continues on while watching the boy she loves slowly slip away from her and into a replica of what she hates about Port Angeles. Choices are made that set course to a domino effect unlike anyone could have anticipated.

Written in Bella's POV, The Give Away Girl is by far one of the most well written and true stories in the Twilight fandom. It follows a girl coming of age in a word filled with liars, cheaters, drugs, and sex. Living between two parents on two opposites sides of town, Bella takes onto her shoulders a weight that continuously grows heavier with each day. Edward is not your perfect cookie-cutter boyfriend in this fic, he is real in that he is lead by popularity, jealously, lust, and vengeance. He makes mistakes that are hurtful, but ones that any boy his age would probably make. It’s called reality and I love how bittersweet and angsty this fic is. I love angst and I cried more than five times during this fic, but good lord was it worth it! Edward's transformation from a boy to a man is amazing. Especially since we see it all through Bella's eyes which takes a true talented author to accomplish. Not to mention she managed to get you to not only fall in love with Bella and Edward, but all of Bella's friends as well, which is not something I take lightly since she even managed to get me to love Alice! It's a true pleasure to watch both of Bella's world collide into one and to watch her grow into a woman. If there were a rating system on this blog, I’d give this fic five stars!

The Give Away Girl by MrsSpaceCowboy consists of 244,025 words and 32 chapters. This story is rated MA for language, graphics lemons, drug use (heavy on the pot smoking), and violence.

"Going Under" by sparklnfade 1

Posted by

Bella’s dad’s job has just moved them from the little cold town of Forks, to the sunny sands of Santa Cruz, CA.  Enrolled to start at UC Santa Cruz in the fall, Bella has her whole summer ahead of her to do whatever she wants. But being the new one in a town filled with tourists, regulars, and endless possibilities, Bella has no idea what the heck she wants to do. Until she finds CC Surf and Skate. Hired on the spot, Bella accepts graciously - but there’s a catch. The shop’s owner, Edward Cullen, wants to teach her how to surf.

Edward is tall, older, and drop-dead-gorgeous - he also has a four-year-old son and a clingy ex. But no matter, with each crack of dawn surf lesson, Bella and Edward grow closer. She hides her crush, thinking someone like Edward would never go for a girl like her. Edward’s younger brother, Jasper, would agree. Suddenly lines are crossed and to hell with the consequences, they’ll fight hard to make it work. Well, that’s the plan… until reality comes crashing down on them like a 6-foot tidal wave.

Going Under is one of my favorites. I know I say this a lot, but I can’t help but share these treasures with you guys! I’ve read this about four times so far and each time I still find myself getting sucked in until the late hours of the night. Bella’s naïve innocence and Edward’s intense loyalty suck the reader in and keep you glued to the story. The descriptions are awesome (especially the surfing!), the writing is very well done, and keeps a consistent pace and tone plot wise. Not to mention, “L” is adorrrrable!

Going Under consists of 46 chapters and 78,358 words. This story is rated M for language and tastefully written lemons.

"Game, Set, Match" by MandyLeigh87 0

Posted by Anonymous

It's her first job interview in weeks and Bella Swan is late. Really late. Nervously pressing the button for the elevator, the beautiful photographer despearately hopes that whoever God is sitting up there, means her well. Unfortunately though, just a couple of seconds later, Bella finds herself stuck in said elevator, together with a tiny brunette and her blonde bombshell of a friend. She has no idea that this meeting will change her life forever.

Edward Cullen has exactly to passions: tennis and women. For the former, the successful sportsman is willing to give everything he has. He forgoes alcohol (well, for the most part) and is constantly chased around the tennis court by his trainer Emmett, practicing services, footwork, and reaction. Now, seducing women is a lot easier, and almost as fun. And it isn't until Edward gets to know the photographer who will accompany him for the next couple of months that the young man finally finds his equal, well, sort of...

Game, Set, Match is a classic and I'm sure many of you will already know the story. However, for those of you who don't, let me tell you what awaits you: cocky Tennisward, wise DearJasper, and clumsy Bella. It's a really nicely written story - you won't regret reading it!

Game, Set, Match consists of 34 chapters and a total of 187,739 words (incl. 3 outtakes). The story is rated M for foul language and lemons.

"Sideline Collision" by Nolebucgrl 1

Posted by Anonymous

Edward Cullen loves two things: football and women. As the star quarterback of the Florida State Seminoles the cocky young man has been intimate with pretty much every woman, girl, and wife available and willing.

It is right before the beginning of the game against the Gators, when Edward's concentration is at its peak, that he runs into a beautiful girl. Bella Swan plays the oboe in the college marching band and is shocked to realize that her collision with the town's playboy extraordinaire caused her reed to break. Although Edward is seriously bothered by the tiny girl who wants him to apologize and buy her a new reed, he is also aware of her beauty and wit. Before the two know what's happening they end up having hot and steamy sex in the locker room. And for the first time Edward not only wants to see his conquest again but he is eager to date her as well...

This story was originally written as a one shot - ending right after the sex between Bella and Edward. But Nolebucgrl, bless her heart, apparently listened to the ecstatic reviews of her readers and decided to turn the one shot into a long story. And what a story it is - full of humor, lemons, and yes, even some romance! The bickering between Edward and Bella is hilarious as both are smart but pigheaded. And it is exactly that intelligence and charme that enables Bella to achieve what no one has before: taming Edward Cullen.

Sideline Collision consists of 31 chapters and a total of 189,264 words. The story is rated M for graphic description of sexual activities.

"Melt With You" by Jenny0719 0

This wonderful one-shot is the winner of the "GOING FOR THE GOLD" contest - and rightfully so. In this story Bella, a successful figure skater, and Edward, an equally successful snowboarder, meet at the Olympic Games in Russia. The two have secretly followed the career of the respective other but never found the courage to talk to each other. That changes when Bella is escaping her room mates naughty party and runs straight into handsome and cocky Edward. And although the two can hardly keep their feelings under control, Bella's insecurities and worries are about to prevent them from having their happily ever after...

It's a wonderful story! Beautifully written and with some very cute and romantic scenes. And if the Edward's humor or there passionate night they spend together doesn't keep you glued to the screen, the little extra drama put in by Jenny0719 will definitely do!

Melt With You is a one shot and consists of 10,290 words. The story is rated M for mature content.

"Chasing Victory" by mpg 0

Posted by Anonymous

For Edward Bella was his best friend, the love of his life, and his soul mate. Yet panic, fear, and a misunderstanding persuade him to throw it all away. He leaves his home town in Brisbane and moves to Sydney, where he becomes the youngest driver ever to win the V8 supercar championship.
Yet although success, money, and women are at Edward's feet, he is unable to get Bella out of his system. Day and night he dreams about the brunette and has more and more trouble focusing on his job. After crashing his car for what feels the 100th time in the season, his boss and team manager Carlisle forces him to take a break. He offers him his apartment in London where he is supposed to "get his shit together."

Yet Carlisle's plan misfires. On the plane to London Edward is seated next to Bella and has no other choice but to talk to her. What starts as an innocent encounter turns into a tearful night of revelations and confessions. Due to a coincidence, Edward discovers that he is the father of a three-year old daughter, Phoebe. Yet that isn't the only shock waiting at his door that night: Phoebe had a twin brother, who did just three days after he was born.

Though this story is comparatively old and has probably already been read by many fans out there, it wasn't until recently that I discovered it for myself.
Chasing Victory is set in Australia which might take some getting used to if you've only read fanfictions taking place in the U.S. or Great Britain. Edward's character is very difficult and broken. Because of his failed relationship with Bella he turned into a manwhore and somewhat recovering alcoholic and drug addict. Throughout the story he often takes one step forward and two steps back which is why the reader often has the need to beat some sense into him. Yet, after some time, Edward is really willing to make a change and become the father his daughter needs and the boyfriend Bella wants. The only question is whether he isn't already too late... Very realistic!

Chasing Victory consists of 47 chapters and 179,076 words. The story is rated M and thus suitable for teens over the age of 16. A sequel has been published: Claiming Victory.
