It all started with a poker game among friends and ends with Edward gaining a lot more than he anticipated. After having rid fellow player James of his beloved, yet old truck, Edward says good-night to the rest of his buddies and goes outside to inspect hit latest conquest. Nothing, however, prepared him for what he would find in the car's trunk: a young girl, barely alive, and apparently horribly abused. The young man immediately calls his uncle Carlisle, who happens to be a skilled doctor. Together, the two men bring the young and frightened girl inside Edward's house and examine her closer.

After they come to the conclusion that the girl is in a bad yet stable condition, Edward makes sure she is bathed, dressed in fresh clothes and put to bed. From this moment on, he tends to every one of Wisp's (Edward's name for Bella) needs and while doing so, gets closer and closer to the person hidden beneath all the pain and fear. He is also determined to find whoever is responsible for her wounds, both physical and psychological, and accompanied by his brother Emmett, an officer in the Forks police force, he begins his search...

Words cannot describe the love I have for this story. Its beautiful but oh so tragic. Wisp had to experience some horrific things yet surprisingly managed to remain the smart, sane, and cute girl she was born as. While one minute one could die from Wisp's adorableness, the next minute one comes close to crying one's eyes out when learning about her tragic past. The reader wants to rescue both Wisp and Edward from the darkness and danger that is the world outside, because, let me make one thing clear, this fanfiction is not an easy undertaking! When I say it is heavy, I mean really heavy! Although they are not described explicitely, acts of child abuse and rape are mentioned and discussed in this story. There might be some of you who don't like to read angst (I'm one of them, actually) but please trust me when I say that you might still like this story if you only give it a chance - it really is highly recommendable. It is beautifully written, sweet at times and immensely sad at others. In a nutshell, Wisp is one thing: laden with emotions.

Wisp consists of 63 chapters and a total of 325,303 words. The story is rated MA for angst, and violence. Please only read the fanfiction if you're 18 years or older!
