"Gothic" by author-self-insert 0

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by beegurl13)

Gothic: pertaining to a style of literature characterized by a gloomy setting, grotesque, mysterious, or violent events, and an atmosphere of degeneration and decay. This describes not only focus of the classes Dr. Isabella Swan teaches as a professor of Early Modern Literature, but it also her proclivity in her personal life as a connoisseur of horror films and 19th-century Gothic novels. She rationalizes that these things are her safe haven where she can immerse herself in the tortuous existence of the characters in these stories - as a way to escape from her own; choosing the safe haven of books with characters that will cause her no pain as opposed to people in real life who can. She is extremely intelligent and thought-provoking, often leaving you chuckling from her unusual and hilarious thought associations, but she is also constantly disparaging herself as awkward or not socially acceptable or what a “burden it must be for people to have to look at someone like me”. She is always expecting the worst from others and questioning every action and word for ulterior motives, but she endeavors to appear ‘normal’ and charming in front of her colleagues and students; trying to present herself as tolerable and carefully following all the rules of etiquette. What could have happened in her life to leave her so disturbed and damaged? What had she endured as a young girl to drive her to only find solace in books of Gothic literature?

For one thing, meet Edward Cullen, the bane of her existence. Back in high school he was the leader of the resident ‘brat pack’ who made it their sole purpose in life to bully, humiliate and torment Bella and her best friend, Alice, making their daily lives a living hell. Now he shows up ten years later at the bar where her department colleagues are having ‘happy hour’ and he has the audacity to approach and speak to her, and even has the nerve to ask her to help him solve the mysterious cold case murder of his ex-girlfriend, Tanya, that happened right after high school. And why ask Bella? Because willing or not, she was his only alibi that kept him from being tried for the murder himself, and the only one who knows without a doubt he did not do it. Now he’s intruding on her personal life once again, saying he’s a doctor, he’s changed, and he’s sorry. You have to give him credit for being a persistent fella who keeps asking her questions, eventually figuring out how to play by her rules - but still pushes her buttons to get her to talk. Then he listens in fascination as she goes on one of her crazy rants - even though most of the time he has no idea what she is talking about! Her passive-aggressive treatment of Edward, and the changing dynamics and dialogue between these two is like watching a championship tennis match.

Author-self-insert will definitely keep you on your toes with her brilliant and articulate word play, the intense, intriguingly complex plot and the absolutely unique voice she has given Bella. You will be torn between cracking up over Bella's inner dialogue and feeling heartbroken for her damaged sense of self-worth and complete distrust of everyone. You will discover that Gothic is so much more than a murder mystery, even though that part will have you continually racking your brain to come up with your own theories as to ‘whodunit’ and keep you riveted on the edge of your seat. It is also an intellectually challenging and emotionally provoking study of the struggle of two flawed individuals to deal not only with the demons of their pasts, but with increasingly disturbing events that start happening in the present; while at the same time forging the basic foundation of a budding relationship with each other - seemingly against the all the odds. Can they figure it all out? Do you think you can figure it out? Are you up for the challenge? Don’t miss out on this gem, it's perfect for Friday the 13th ;-)!

Gothic contains 23 chapters and a total of 116,449 words. The story is rated M for language and content.

"Tip of the Spear" by Robsmyyummy Cabanaboy 1

(banner made by Mina)

As a casualty assistance calls officer (CACO) for the U.S. Marine Corps, Captain Edward Masen's job is to notify families who have lost their Marine. The hardest part of the job is seeing their faces fall and hearing their cries as he relays the information. Though he usually tries to be as sympathetic as possible, he doesn't get attached to any of them in order to uphold his own emotions. That is, until he meets an Isabella Newton on the doorstep of her North Carolina home while on call to inform her of her husband's death with a fellow officer. As devastated as the widowed beauty is by Mike's death, she manages to find comfort in Edward's friendship and is determined to stay positive for the sake of her unborn son. But, when one loss turns into two, she falls into a deep depression.

Fast-forward three years, Bella - literally - bumps into Captain Masen on a flight to Hickam Air Force base in Oahu. While on the plane, they catch up on what they've been up to since they last saw each other at Mike's funeral. Conversing during the flight, Edward finds out Bella has applied for transfer through the department of defense education activity (DODEA) for a first grade position in South Korea. Once landed in Oahu, they agree to travel the islands together until the summer is over and make the most of their time together. During their travels, they treat themselves to basic tourism: trying local cuisine, sightseeing, and meeting new people - both locals and Marine friends. As they get to know each other better, they both find themselves falling in love - and it seems as though their friends are mostly supportive of their growing relationship... Trouble follows the couple in paradise and, combined with the death of a close friend, Edward and Bella drift apart. Can they save their relationship before it's too late?

I can't express just how much I love this story. Tip of the Spear is truly a captivating story and takes the reader on the couple's journey through the islands. Told from both Edward's and Bella's point of views, Tip of the Spear sheds light on both perspectives in every situation. It's a slow burn, and the reader will enjoy every moment of the development of their relationship. This story is pretty well-known out there in the Twilight Fandom, and has even achieved multiple awards for the amazing plot! Personally, one of my favorite things about Robbsmyyummy Cabanaboy's uniqueness in writing is that she's able to write the smallest of details about a Marine's life within the fic, which captures the reader immediately because there is a relation of emotions to connect to. Tip of the Spear is an extremely well written fanfiction with a complex story love and will have you laughing, crying, and cheering for joy by the time it's over. A MUST read!

Tip of the Spear is complete. It consists of 36 chapters and 238,971 words. Rated M for foul language and mild sexual content.

"Gateway to the Heart" by samekramer 0

(banner made by Jaime)

When her husband Jacob reveals that he is in love with another woman, Bella decides that enough is enough. With her marriage broken and her beloved father dead, there is nothing that keeps her in Seattle anymore. So she packs her belongings and throws a dart at a map of the United States. It lands in the small town of St. Louis in Missouri. She finds a position as a teacher at an elementary school in Kansas City and buys a small condo. It is while moving into her new home that Bella meets Edward, his brother Emmett, and their good friend Jasper. She is also warmly welcomed by her new neighbors Alice and Rose, who give her fashion and dating advice whenever they can. Though Edward has made a lasting impression on Bella the two kind of lose touch and don’t see each other again until the handsome young music professor walks into Bella’s new class room, accompanied by his cute little six-year old daughter, Carlie…

As both Edward and Bella don’t get each other out of their minds, it doesn’t take long until they start dating. Though the fact that Bella is Carlie’s teacher makes their relationship difficult, the two are not discouraged by it. They know their feelings run deeper than mere attraction and both are ready to start a new chapter in their lives. Unfortunately, there are a few things that keeps them from living their happily ever after, namely Bella’s ex-husband Jake and Edward’s past acquaintance Carmen. A few years ago, the latter was the one, who introduced Edward to the secrets of BDSM relationships and taught him the secrets of the female body. Though Bella is open to try out a few things with Edward in the bedroom (and enjoying his sexual expertise immensely), she is furious when Carmen suddenly appears in St. Louis and wants her former Sub back…

First and foremost, Gateway to the Heart is not a BDSM fanfiction in the classical sense. You won’t read about whips and chains, but some more unusual methods of love making. Though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea (personally, I’m not a fan of BDSM myself), the subject is tackled in a very delicate way and has been “downgraded” immensely. Edward is unwilling to inflict pain on Bella and she on the other hand has her limits with what she wants to do as well. That said, you need to decide for yourselves if you feel up to a story like that. Naturally, because of the BDSM influence and the couples strong sex drive, the fanfiction is rated MA. Moreover, it is written from both characters’ perspectives, resulting in some repetitions along the way. Getaway to the Heart is filled with likeable characters (first and foremost Emmett), very funny moments (Carlisle dressed as a princess is priceless), and lots of love. Add some drama to it and you have another wonderful story by samekraemer! Make sure to check it out!

Gateway to the Heart consists of 38 chapters and a total of 265,603 words. The story is rated MA for graphic description of sexual relations, references of BDSM, and foul language.

"Accidentally in Love" by Missus T 1

(banner made by time_lights)

Edward Cullen has found himself in a more than precarious situation. After another one of his mother's inquisitions about possible girlfriends, weddings, and grandchildren, he blurts out that he is, in fact, engaged and that there is no need for her to keep pestering him about the topic. Unfortunately, Edward's mother, as well as his father and the rest of his family, are now insisting to meet the young woman, who has finally stolen his heart. They invite her and Edward to a weekend at the Hamptons and now Edward has to do is find that beautiful fiancé of his. So together with his best friend Garrett and the help of some drinks, the young med-student inserts an ad on Craigslist: "Fake Fiancé Needed for Weekend in the the Hamptons. Cash Reward."

The girl replying to this rather unusual ad is Bella Swan. She has just started work as a math teacher and could use the $3,000 she would be given to pay off her student loans. So, under the watchful eyes of her best friend Angela, Bella meets Edward at a small café to talk out the details and get to know him better. The two hit it off right away and their attraction is immediate and strong. However, both keep their distance, unsure of what to make of these feelings. Edward prepares Bella as good as he can for his family and the weekend they will spend with them. Yet it isn't until she actually meets the Cullens that Bella gets an idea of what she has gotten herself into: Edward's mother Esme is a pseudo-alcoholic, instead she isn't; his sister Alice is like a little Energizer bunny, his brother Emmett likes crass jokes, and Edward's sister-in-law Rose thinks Bella is a pregnant gold-digger. Will Bella and Edward be able to keep up their lie of being the madly-in-love couple or will the lie turn eventually into the truth?

Accidentally in Love is a story full of fluff and with virtually no angst or drama. The fanfiction is kept pretty light and funny, which constitutes for a wonderful read if you've just finished a particularly angsty story. The fic is written from both Edward and Bella's POV, with only minimal repetitions. The supporting characters play an importan role in Accidentally in Love as they basically set the background for Edward and Bella's weird journey in the Hamptons. Especially Esme will probably take some getting used to for many of you readers out there, as one doesn't really know whether to be concerned about her little "problem" or just laugh it off as being insanely funny. I guess you all have to judge for yourselves - go read and check this sweet little story out!

Accidentally in Love consists of 32 chapters and a total of 134,493 words. The story is rated M for lemons and foul language.

"Where There's Smoke" by NJNYTwiGals 0

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5366194/1/Where-There-s-Smoke

Elementary school teacher Bella Swan is having a hard time getting over the disaster that was her last relationship. Weeks before she was supposed to walk down the aisle to her year-long boyfriend Jacob, the latter confesses that he fell in love with another woman and even got her pregnant. Broken and hurt, Bella forces herself to somehow get through the next few weeks, yet is only kept from multiple breakdowns by her best friends Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rose. It isn't until she runs into a handsome, yet arrogant, young man that she starts believing in love again...

Alice's cousin Edward is still not over the end of his relationship with his true love Tanya. But as he sees that being surrounded by memories of her and them together is not really helping his psychological state, he decides to leave Chicago and start a new life in Seattle. Thanks to his lovely cousin, Edward manages to share an apartment with Jasper and Emmett (just about the one Alice and Bella share) and manages to get a job as a firefighter at Emmett's station. It's there that he runs into Bella, who is looking for someone who might want to talk a little to her waiting students about the pros and cons of being a firefighter. But Edward is utterly confused by the emotions this woman evokes in him, especially because he swore to himself not to date again in the near future. So afraid of what he feels he rudely brushes her off. But fate has different plans and Bella and Edward meet again at a bar, where they both decide to become friends - though they actually want more. A bumpy road lies ahead of them...

This story has a slow beginning as it takes a while until the reader actually meets Edward. And once they do, they also kind of get off on the wrong foot, but fortunately soon come to their senses. It is Edward, who prevents the two from getting into a relationship right away as he still loves Tanya and is afraid to let her go. Reading about the pain and heartache he feels with regards to his former girlfriend is heart-breaking and the reader can definitely relate to Bella's insecurities about if she'll ever be able to fill her shoes. Ups and downs are waiting for the reader and when you finally think, Edward and Bella are up for a fluffy future, tragedy strikes in form of a horrible accident, leaving Edward with a memory loss. Bella desperately fights for him and their love and it's difficult to read how they both struggle with their feelings. Where There's Smoke pretty much has it all: humor, drama, angst, sex, and fluff. You should definitely give it a try if you haven't already!

Where There's Smoke consists of 30 chapters and a total of 250,508 words. The story is rated M for lemons, profanities, and some angst.

"The Party" by compass54 0

Posted by Anonymous
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/9751082/1/The-Party

Edward is bored out of his mind. The only reason why he hasn't yet broken up with his pseudo-girlfriend Tanya is that, at least, every Wednesday he's getting laid. Yes, Tanya is shallow, not the best in bed and definitely not at all interested in Edward but hey, a man has needs, right? But sooner rather than later the young pathology doctor realizes that he can't stand another day with the blonde woman he shares a bed with once a week. And so, when he finds out she going to move into a new apartment, together with three other girls, he decides to take this opportunity to tell her their "relationship" is over. Enter roommate numer 3: an English teacher with a hot body, deep brown eyes, and a refreshingly direct sense of humor.

Because Bella Swan says pretty much what she thinks and also well-raised, smart, and independent. Edward feels the connection toward her immediately and doesn't say no when she invites him over to a birthday party that same night. As Tanya appears not to give a damn where he goes and with whom, Edward agrees and dresses up nicely before taking Bella to her friend, Heather. The latter is, for lack of a better words, a bit unconventional and crazy and wants all her male guests to take off their shirts before entering the house. Reluctantly Edward does and, together with his brother Emmett, he attracts a number of more than interested women. But his eyes are for Bella only and though it takes a while until they finally make it out of there and get on their way to a more private place, the sparks never cease to fly between the two...

What a wonderful, fun, and sexy little fanfiction! Completely written from Edward's POV The Party by compass54 has everything you need if you don't have much time to start multi-chaptered stories. There is absolutely no angst and drama, but lots of naked Edward, snarky Bella, and a sweet Emmett! Dozens of hilarious scenes won't give you a moment without laughter and, sometimes, that's excactly what you need after reading fanfics that are literally overflowing with gut-wrenching scenes! Give it a try, you will be throughly entertained for an hour or two!

The Party consists of 3 chapters and a total of 17,115 words. The story is rated M for lemons and foul language.

"The Practicum" by TheFicChick (guest review by Anjali) 0

(banner made by Jaime)

The story begins with a normal bunch of high schools teachers having a drink at a bar. Bella and her fellow co-workers and friends start talking about the hot new PE teacher Edward Cullen and it just so turns out that he and Bella are paired together to teach Sex-Ed for the year. Awkward much? So the two start to plan their lessons during fourth period and despite the uncomfortable topic that caused them to get together, there is a instant friendship between them. As they go through lesson after lesson with crazy students and embarrassing encounters, Edward and Bella slowly progress in their personal relationship.

It turns out that "SexEd-ward" has not really had a real girlfriend since high school and only dated one girl back when he was in Boy's Boarding School. Well, don't worry, Edward, Bella is there for you! Suddenly one of the two teachers given the task to educate their students about an uncomfortable topic, is shown what all that means in reality by the the other teacher. Good old Bella shows Edward how each base is really covered but will they be able to stop with that? As teachers they are supposed to make rational decisions, with the best interest in mind, but will they be able to apply that rule to themselves?

I read this story in one sitting as I simply couldn't stop till I was done with it. The chemistry between Bella and Edward, combined with their immediate attraction, is beautifully captured by TheFicChick. Although the first sexual encounter between the two is quite shocking, the author was able to brilliantly capture the sweet beginning of a new relationship and, together with crazy friends and heavy pasts, managed to mix it into one great story. You should definitely read it if you are looking for some romance and humor all in one! A fanfiction that will have you laughing at the couple's awkward moments with their crazy students and sighing sweetly at their blooming romance! A story that will definitely keep you hooked and light-hearted at the same time - not to be missed!

The Practicum consists of 15 chapters and 97,904 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual situations/discussions.

"The Sound of Silence" by Besotted 0

(banner made by time_lights)

Edward Cullen had his future perfectly planned out: he was double majoring in pre-medicine and music and straight on his way to become a successful doctor. Yet due to the huge amount of studying he had to do, Edward never had a steady girlfriend. So one might call it accident or fate when he unexpectedly encounters a beautiful young woman in a grocery store. Captivated by her, Edward offers to carry her bags for her but the young lady does not respond. And the reason behind that, Edward should learn soon, is not that she vehemently tries to ignore him but simply that she didn't hear him. Because Bella, the beautiful stranger, is deaf.

And luck keep being on his side when Edward figures out that Bella is enrolled at the same university he is at. But Bella is not a student, she's teaching sign language! The two make it a habit to meet everyday, 20 minutes before her class starts, and get to know each other by conversing through iPads and the little sign language Edward has already been able to pick up. He decides to learn the language well enough to be able to really talk to Bella and spends hours studying. Meanwhile, he and Bella develop close feelings for each other and though she is hesitant at first, she eventually decides to give their relationship a chance. But how will Edward's friends and family react to Bella's disability?

Hats off to Besotted for creating such a beautiful story - completely told from Edward's perspective! She realistically depicts the conflicts that a disabled person encounters while also pointing out that being deaf is not the end of the world. The author has portrayed the characters extremely well: Bella, though deaf, is a mature and strong female, who ignores those who try to exclude her from the norm. Our lovely Edward is exactly that: lovely. He is immensely patient and lets Bella set the pace of their relationship. What makes The Sound of Silence so special, however, is that Besotted shows her (hearing) readers how utterly unaware we are of so many fascinating aspects of life. Like the sound of the waves you hear when you put your ear down in the soft sand. Or the fastened rhythm of your lover's heartbeat when you are near him. Soon, one comes to the conclusion that, indeed, silence does have a sound and if you read this heartfelt story, you will know exactly what I mean. Experience love at first sight that will have you hooked till the end! A must-read!

The Sound of Silence consists of 30 chapters and 164,251 words. The story is rated M for language and hot sexual activities.

"Coming Home" by Sarge's Girls (guest review by Stephanie) 0

(banner made by Mina)

By writing a letter to Seargent Masen Bella Swan simply intended to do a good deed. After hearing from her friend and Sgt. Masen's sister Alice that his girlfriend Tanya broke up with him while he was in Afghanistan serving his country, she grabs a pen and writes him a letter. But what starts out as a normal correspondence between pen pals, soon turns into a heart-warming romance. The letters get sweeter and dirtier and emails are added to respond quicker. But the fact remains that Bella's job as a high school teacher keeps her in the States while Edward is stuck in Afghanistan. Can the two maintain their relationship while he's overseas? And what will happen once Edward returns back home... if he returns back home?!

Um...can I get one of those ShamWow's over here, please? *holds up hand in the air like a child asking the teacher permission to speak* The lemons are H.O.T! But besides the steamy hook-ups, this story was well developed, realistic, and made my heart soar with all the love Bella and Edward send to each other. Coming Home has everything one could want in a good story: wit, fluff, and so many moments that will leave you either crying or laughing and always wanting more! You can tell right off the bat that this isn't a normal relationship as they talk through e-mails, phone calls, and video chats, but the love and connection is still there. I have read this story multiple times, and each time, I still fawn over the adoration that is clear between these two. But honestly, there are no words as to how much I loved this one.

Coming Home consists of 174 chapters and 285,821 words. The story is rated MA for graphic sexual or violent scenes.

"Show and Don't Tell" by Brits23 0

Posted by Anonymous

It was like they were in a scene written for a cheesy romance novel: when Edward Cullen picks up his nephew Masen from pre-school he meets his teacher Bella Swan. The two look into each other's eyes and know right then and there that they are meant to be together for the rest of their lives. Their instantaneous attraction is mindblowing and both feel the immense emptiness and loss when Edward eventually leaves. Though Bella is trying to get Edward out of her mind (A hunk like him single? Yeah, right.) she is less than successful. So when her good friend and mother of Masen, Alice Whitlock, calls to invite her to dinner with friends, which includes Edward, she doesn't hesitate to accept. Once at the restaurant Edward and Bella start talking about this and that and notice that they have similiar tastes and the same sense of humor. After a heated dance Bella is pulled into the restroom by Alice who tells her what she feared all along: Edward is not single...

But he is not really taken either. For weeks he had tried to break it off with his girlfriend Tanya, as it became clear to him pretty quickly that they did not "click". Unfortunately though, Tanya's mother died unexpectedly which throws the young woman into a depression like state. Unwilling to add another negative event to her life just then, Edward decides to wait a bit until Tanya has had a chance to cope with the past events. Yet after a couple of weeks have passed and Edward tries to end the relationship once more, Tanya is either ignoring his words, throwing a tantrum, or avoiding any kind of confrontation in the first place. Both, Edward and Bella agree that they would more than like to give whatever was happening between them a try but they also decide that they would not cheat on Tanya. That means that, as long as the young woman, who is also Bella's colleague, still calls herself Edward's girlfriend, the two won't allow themselves to get physically close to each other. No kissing, no sex, no groping, and hand holding is only allowed if no else sees it...

Two things shape this story more than anything else: humor and a good amount of cheesy moments. Bella and Edward don't hide their affections for each other and because they can't actually show the depths of their feelings they have no other way but to express it verbally. It's beautiful to read and makes you sigh from happiness more than once. They are worshipping the ground the other walks on and let me already tell you that, even though Show and Don't Tell contains some drama, the relationship between our favorite couple is never really in danger of breaking. Furthermore, many supporting characters add a lot of humor to the story! Masen's crazy choice of clothes, Jake's (or Jakie's) wonderful friendship with Bella, and the live wire that is Renee will put a grin on your face that simply refuses to disappear! Finally I'd like to add that even though Show and Don't Tell is completely written from Bella's POV the reader doesn't have to miss out on Edward's view on things because Brit23 also wrote a good number of chapters from his perspective! Sometimes it is actually really helpful to read both POVs in order to better understand the characters actions! A great read with a few smutty scenes!

Show and Don't Tell consists of 27 chapters and a total of 135,119 words. The story is rated M for adult situations, profanities, and some violence. Click here to read many chapters of the story from EPOV!

"Tube" by Annilaia 2

Posted by Anonymous
After helping her friend cleaning up the mess of an amazing party, Bella finds herself waiting for her train at Ravenscourt Park station. Though the young woman works half time as a teacher at a local school, her real passion is writing. She just recently published her first book successfully and is now hastily making notes for the sequel while waiting for the tube to arrive. Once the carriages are in front of her she makes her way inside and sits down. After taking a thorough look at her fellow passengers Bella peeks through the glass window separating her carriage from the next and lays eyes upon a stunning bronze mob of hair...

Bella cannot help but stare at the gorgeous man, who is reading while listening to his ipod. It doesn't take long, however, and the object of her affection looks up and right into her eyes. He then scribbles a not on a piece of paper, holds it up and shows it to Bella. She laughs and reads that his name is Edward. The two start a sweet conversation via paper notes until Bella's station approaches and she leaves the tube to head for the connection train. It is then that she hears a wonderful velvet voice who belongs to no other but the friendly stranger with the bronze hair. Bella and Edward happen to head in the same direction and decide to spend their journey home together. And what happens the next couple of minutes is nothing short of magical...

What a wonderful and immensely well written little story! The idea of letting Edward and Bella meet on a train and communicate via notes is adorable and so, so sweet! Edward is feeling the same weird connection as Bella does and behaves slightly jealous and possessive when some teenage boys join their carriage. But Bella is far from innocent either and is not too amused to find a girl with big boobs hitting on her newfound friend! Yes, this story does not contain any lemons and, believe it or not, not a single swear word (whether there will be some kissing involved I'll let you find out yourselves). But trust me, even though this fanfic is rated K it is full of sweet young love, cute gestures, and tons of fluff!

Tube consists of five chapters and 9,580 words. The story is rated K and thus suitable for readers of all ages.

"A Night with the Royal Staff" by MrsK81 0

Posted by Anonymous

Shortly after graduation, Bella Swan is persuaded by her girlfriends to spend the next couple of months exploring and enjoying London. However, the moment they arrive in the rainy city, they realize that in order to have a roof over their heads and some food to eat, they need to work. Bella and her friend Jessica find a job in an haute cuisine restaurant that also happens to sometimes cater for the Royal Family. And so, one evening, Bella finds herself waiting on kings, queens, princes, and people worth more money than her father's house. And among the many guests, one man has taken a particular interest in her...

HRH Prince Edward hates his life. Bugged by his conservative parents and his even more conservative grandmother (aka Grand Bitch), the young man longs for nothing more than normalcy. Instead of being the future King of England, Edward would love to enjoy the night with his friends and marry out of love rather than convenience. As fed up as he is by the people of the high society, it is no wonder that the moment he meets Bella at a banquet, he is more than intrigued. The girl is smart, funny, never says or does what he would expect, and, most importantly, doesn't seem to give a damn that his a prince. Unable to stay away from her they spend a passionate night together at Bella's apartment (having the best sex of their lives, thank you very much) and promise to stay in touch. Until Bella's visa expires in six months, she and Edward agree to spend as much time together as possible. However, they also promise each other that no feelings would get involved. Yeah, right...

This fanfiction is funny, smartly written and well researched (everything having to do with the royalty sounds very realistic). Edward and Bella have wit and own a sizable amount of sarcasm. Bella's occasional lack of filter is hilarious and Edward's opinion about his grandmother will probably have you falling from your sofa laughing. Moreover, the two don't waste any time in getting intimate. As A Night with the Royal Staff was initially planned to be a one-shot (thank God, MrsK81 changed her mind and expanded the story) you will already have your first lemon in the first chapter. Last but not least, the story also has some serious drama in store for you, let me just say that Edward's deal with his father is more than... interesting.

A Night with the Royal Staff consists of 24 chapters and a total of 117,978 words. The story is rated M for lemons and language. A sequel has also been published, A Life with the Royal Staff.

"The Workings of Fate" by RosieRathbone 0

Posted by Anonymous

When Bella Swan meets the young kids she's supposed to teach how to swim, one boy sticks out. Little Cooper is not just a quick learner but also a very eager one. And when she finds out that he is the son of one Edward Cullen, a former class mate of hers during high school, she makes sure to arrange a short meeting. Yet Bella is not prepared for what awaits her in the nearby café: instead of the lanky young boy with bad skin and nerdy glasses, she comes face to face with a handsome, well-built young man with a sharp jawline, the greenest eyes she had ever seen and the most intriguing grin. The feelings she secretly harbored for him in high school return and seem to magnify by the minute. It also helps that Edward tells her that there is no Mrs. Cullen...

Because Cooper's mother Tanya died shortly after giving birth due to a weak heart. Edward makes sure that his son knows about his mother and her love for him but when Cooper hears that his father used to have a crush on his swim teacher, he wants Bella to somewhat fill this position (and provide him with siblings). Additionally, little Coop also falls in love for the first time, constantly begs his dad for a new pet (they already have a gecko, three frogs, and two guinea pigs), and learns about big wieners, hairy body parts, and strawberry flavored balloons. ; )

The Workings of Fate can be described in three words: slow burn and hilarious. If you want Edward and Bella to jump each other's bones the moment they meet again after high school, you'll be thoroughly disappointed. Edward's lack of sexual experiences and shyness keep him from showing Bella what he feels and it isn't until about two thirds into the story that our two love birds actually do the deed. There are not many lemons in this story as the main focus lies on the relationship between Edward and Cooper but those few that are in there are tastefully written. I know, many of you will say that a fanfiction without graphic lemons shouldn't actually be considered a good story - but wait, because even though The Workings of Fate is not about sex, the plot is still entertaining as hell. Little Cooper is such a sweet young guy, whose addiction to super heroes and animals is the cutest thing. And whenever Emmett is in the picture as well, no eyes remain dry! RosieRathbone's story is wonderfully written and exremely realistic, so please give it a try! ; )

The Workings of Fate consists of 27 chapters and a total of 75,444 words. The story is rated M for lemons and profanities. RosieRathbone released a sequel, Because of Hope.

"The Ride of Your Life" by Forever-Liz 0

Posted by Anonymous

After one of her four-graders, Masen Cullen, chose a rather... colorful language to deal with one of his annoying classmates his teacher, Bella Swan, invites his parents to a meeting. She definitely didn't expect to come face-to-face with the most handsome young man she had ever seen. Edward Cullen was not only tall and muscular, he also sported a number of tattoos and, to put it mildly, a massive hard on. The two get down to business and talk but are constantly distracted by the unmistakable air of lust and tension surrounding them. And so, after only a couple of minutes of small talk (in which Edward assures Bella that there is no Mrs. Cullen), Edward and Bella find themselves in the middle of a hot make-out session on the piano. And even though they technically don't have sex, they both agree that it was the single most sexual and sensual experience they've ever had in their lives.

So Edward doesn't hesitate and asks for Bella's number and for the next couple of days, the two text and talk over the phone. On their first semi-date on Sunday, Bella invites her crush over to her beach house (the story takes place in Florida) and cooks a wonderful dinner. But the two just cannot take their hands off each other and so, after a wonderful evening of witty banter and interesting conversations, they spent a passionate night with one another. And even though Edward and Bella have no doubt that they like each other for more than just the sex, both agree to put their love-making on the hold until they get to know each other better. For the time being, Edward decides to neither tell his son nor his freaky family (he owns his own motorcycle shop, together with his siblings Emmett and Alice and their partners Rose and Jasper) until he really knows where things with Bella go. Also, the fact that Bella began an affair with one of her student's parents, might not go well with the school board...

This story is hot! Right in the first chapter, a wonderful lemon awaits the reader and there are more, oh so much more, on the way. The way Edward and Masen are portrayed in this story is just amazing. Masen is pretty much the spitting image of his father (a chuck-wearing, energized 9-year-old with a potty mouth) and is thus affectionately called Mini-Me by his family. But next to his father's love for video games and Muse, Masen also inherited Edward's musical talent. His fantastic abilities when it comes to playing the piano astound Bella so much that she offers to give him private lessons. Last but not least, The Ride of Your Life is exceptionally well-written and incredibly funny. Whenever Edward is at work and has to deal with nosy Emmett or little troll Alice, I guarantee that you'll cry tears from laughing so hard!

The Ride of Your Life consists of 28 chapters and a total of 210,412 words. The story is rated MA for lemons and foul language.

"Deviant" by planetblue 0

"Who wants another motherfucking shot!" Bella shouts zealously, followed by a bar full of patrons cheering in excitement. Her boots stomp atop the counter and a bottle of whiskey then pours into a crowd of open mouths. Filled with sexy confidence, Bella wow's the inside of The Steel Horse  'Coyote Ugly Style' every night. But come morning, she's a passionate professor at Bellmont U--lecturing young minds in the subject of social deviance. A topic that most consider erotic and uncommon, but to Bella its an untapped desire within. Life is awesome for Bella, she has her dream job, she riles the crowds up at night in her brother Emmett's bar, and she has a great group of friends. However, life's also become a bit predictable--until one Friday at her local cafe changes everything.

It starts with witty banter every Friday morning, then upgrades to hot parking lot rendezvouses. He drives her crazy with his sexual deviance and that damn manchu mustache! Only Edward Cullen could pull that off and also get away with toying with her the way he does. Working her up and leaving her dry, teasing her and taunting her with a touch here, a whispered word there. Suddenly Bella finds herself in a purely sexual relationship with a man she tries her hardest to keep at arms length. But there are things about 'Manchu' that can't be ignored, and when emotions become involved, the game changes and Bella has a serious choice to make...

Filled with hotter than hot lemons and exciting twists and turns, Deviant does not disappoint. Dirty talking Edward will make you need a change of undies and sexy Bella will have you cheering and fist pumping. But don't think this just another lemon fic with no plot--nope! There is definitely more to these characters than meets the eye. You think you know, but you have no idea. Save this in your bookmarks, because trust me when I say this is worth more than one read. Especially when you feel like reading something steamy with a touch of sweet.

Deviant by planetblue consists of 83,093 words and 23 chapters. This story is rated MA for graphic lemons and language.

"Red Elephants" by Amber1983 0

Rosalie Hale is convinced that her best friend Bella Swan needs to see more than just the rainy countryside of Forks, Washington, and manages to persuade the young teacher to join her on a safari in African Kenya. No sooner said than done, Bella sits in a lodge in the middle of nowhere and waits... for the rain to stop. Instead of seeing the big five, the two girls are stuck in their rooms for three days, playing Black Jack as torrential rain platters against the windows. Once the weather improves a little the girls get their bags and rush out of the hotel, right into their jeep. Too dumb that hey don't get too far: soon, their car gets stuck in the mud and the only help they have seems to be two complete strangers, one of which has beautiful bronze-like hair...

Red Elephants is a wonderful one shot by a promising author. Amber1983 manages to convincingly describe the living circumstances in Kenya (her own experience helped her a lot with that) as well as the love-at-first-sight experience Bella and Edward go through. The ending is a real tear-jerker, let me tell you, but in a REALLY good way!

Red Elephants is a one-shot and consists of 10,961 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities.

"A Pound of Flesh" by jaxon22 0

At nine years old Isabella Swan must helplessly watch as her father Charles is robbed and beaten to death by a gang of thugs. Without the help of a young stranger, who pulled the little girl away from the scene and dragged her into an old warehouse, Isabella would have faced the same fate as her father.

Fifteen years later, Bella follows up on the promise she gave Charlie which is to help others and make a difference in the world. The smart and exceedingly beautiful woman decides to work as a tutor for English Literature at Arthur Kill Correctional Facility in Staten Island. Though her students intimidate her a little at the beginning (after all they all have an astounding criminal record), she manages to get through to them pretty quickly. There is, however, one young man who seems angrier, and more broken than anybody else. And as inmate 061901, aka Cullen, sees his new tutor and inhales her fruity smell, memories from the past come back to the surface...

There are only a handful of authors out there who can pretty much write what they want and it will always end up being brilliant. jaxon22 is on the best way of becoming such an author - her writing and style are sophisticated and the story line is gripping and innovative. Because of Edward's "current place of residence", he and Bella are unable to act on their building tension and attraction towards each other. But, don't worry, peeps, our Edward has the chance of early parole and we shall all be damned if  Bella won't do everything in her power to get it for him!

A Pound of Flesh consists of 47 chapters and a total of 517,119 words. The story is rated MA for graphic description of sexual activities, foul language, and violence. If you're under the age of 18, I'll advise you not to read the fanfiction!

"Winter Song" by Jessypt 0

Posted by Anonymous

Edward Cullen works for a pharmaceutical company and has to go to Seattle to oversee some tests. He happens to run into an old friend who tells him that Bella Swan still lives in town. Immediately, images of the past appear in Edward's head: how much he loved her, how beautiful she was, how bad things ended... Because he can't get Bella off mind, he decides to visit her at the university where she is a professor for English literature. The moment they meet at her office, Edward knows he's more than willing to give things a second chance. The question is, does Bella as well?

Winter Song is a wonderful story because it is immensely realistic. Bella is hurt by the way Edward ended things ten years ago and thus far from welcoming him with open arms. Instead of jumping his bones at the first chance she gets, she needs time and space to learn to trust him again. And so for this fanfiction the motto is: baby steps instead of giant leaps.
The story is completely written from Edward's point of view.

Winter Song consists of 68 chapters and a total of 123,785 words. The story is rated M for the description of sexual activities.

"Fatherhood, Formula, and Other F-Words" by anhanninen 1

Posted by Anonymous

Edward enjoys exactly two things in his life: freedom and women. Being a manwhore extraordinaire Edward is far from being interested in settling down; so when one of his former flings shows up at his doorstep and hands him over a newborn, Edward is lost for words. The little bundle in his arms is his daugter Sofia - and from now on Edward's responsibility.

Needless to say, Edward has a problem. Not only does he lack any kind of experience with children, but he also doesn't know how to incorporate Sofia in his busy work schedule. As a doctor, he often has to stay longer than anticipated and is often called in in the middle of the night.
Thank God for Bella Swan! The shy neighbor from next door offers Edward her help and expertise. As a kindergarten teacher Bella knows how to handle small children and it doesn't complicate things when she and Sofia also take an instant liking to each other. And it doesn't take long until Bella manages to capture Edward's heart as well!

Fatherhood, Formula, and Other F-Words is an incredibly sweet story. Without virtually any kind of drama or angst, the reader can just lay back and enjoy seeing Edward with his newborn daughter (whom he calls "Little One" - too cute!). The dialogue is very well written and the characters nicely developed. Taking into consideration that anhanninen actually prefers the pairing of Esme/Carlisle she does an amazing job in portraying the wonderful relationship of Edward and Bella. If you're looking for a story that makes you swoon and sigh happily, go ahead and read!

Fatherhood, Formula, and Other F-Words consists of 36 chapters and 134,484 words. The story is rated M for mature content. anhanninen plans to begin posting a mini-sequel in November.

"Blue Christmas" by amoredjenaue 0

Posted by Anonymous

For Edward christmas will never be the same again. Ever since he let Bella walk out of his life six years ago, the winter holidays, the exchange of gifts, and the glittering lights seem dull and meaningless. Every hour of the day, Edward spends regretting to not let Bella know how he felt, how he still feels.

Yet two days before christmas eve, Edward and Bella's paths cross again. The old sparks return, the fuzzy feelings come back to the surface, and hope lingers in the air. But will Edward know how to use the second chance he's been given?

I rarely read one-shots because they just make me yearn for more - and this story is no different. amoredjenaue once again creates characters that are interesting, moving, and authentic. Now, just a couple of weeks before the beginning of christmas time, Blue Christmas gives you a taste of what's to come. It's perfection!

Blue Christmas is a one shot and consists of 9,606 words. The story is rated M and thus suitable for teens over the age of 16.
