Charlie Swan is far from what you would call rich. Working as a cook in an Italian restaurant, he hardly manages to make enough money to make ends meet for himself and his 18-year old daughter Bella. So ever since her 15th birthday, Bella, who recently graduated from high school, has been working here and there to help pay the bills. Enter Carlisle Cullen, the King of the United States of America and unexpected guest at Charlie's restaurant. Amazed by the excellent food, Carlisle asks Charlie to quit his job and become a cook at Cullen Manor. Without hesitation, Charlie accepts and explains to his confused daughter how much their lives will now change for the better.

But Bella is far from being ecstatic. As she financially depends on her father, the young woman has no other choice but to leave her old life behind, follow her father's lead, and become a maid of the royal family. Especially the 22-year old Prince Edward is a thorn in her side as she deems him to be a spoiled and arrogant brat. Determined to ignore him, Bella starts her work but a meeting with Edward is soon unavoidable. To make matters worse, the new maid quickly realizes that the Prince is not who she thought he was. Instead of snotty and narcisstic Edward turns out to be smart and charming and Bella soon starts to fall in love with him. Too bad that Edward is engaged to Tanya, a.k.a. royal b**ch, who will do everything in her power to become the next Queen. But Bella is not willing to go down without a fight and decides to try everything necessary to win Edward's heart...

I absolutely loved this fanfiction, especially because of Royalward and Commonerella! If you expect the Cullens to be snobbish and rude you will be (pleasantly) surprised because they are far from it. In fact, the royal family is very down to earth and sweet and not even close to the cliché. Bella's clumsiness makes for some funny moments in this story and Tanya's intrigues give Royal Rebellions the needed drama. For me, however, Bella's rebellious character was the heart of the story. It was just perfect for the plot! If you also love a Bella who doesn't always do what is expected from her, I can only recommend this story!

Royal Rebellions consists of 35 chapters and 192,603 words. The story is rated M for the use of foul language and references to sexual activities.
