"Negative Twenty and Falling" by katinki 0

Posted by Anonymous

Bella is on her way to Canada to spend her spring break with her best friend Alice, her boyfriend Jasper, her brother's Edward and Emmett, as well as Emmett's wife Rosalie. They will share a cabin together and enjoy the winter. Too bad that Bella is used to living in Arizona and minus 20° Celsius (damn Canadians and their metrical system) is a tid bit too cold for her.

It doesn't make things easier that she has been pining for Alice's older brother Edward for years. Everytime the two meet, Bella is mesmerized by his perfect physique, starts to swoon whenever he smiles, and nearly melts with each eye contact. Yet a certain lack of self esteem and thousands of miles keep her from confessing her feelings. While Bella will start college at Northwestern, Edward will finish his medical degree in Colorado. At least, that's what she thinks...

katinki's one shot is full of humor and sarcasm. Our little Bella is more than suffering from the cold weather conditions in Canada and it is too cute to read about her stopped up Rudolph-the-red-nose-reindeer-like nose, her falling on her butt on more than one occasion and using said behind to slide ungracefully down hills and slopes. When Edward finally gets her alone in the hot tub, however, things are a lot less funny and a little bit more heated!

Negative Twenty and Falling is a one shot consisting of 18,997 words. The story is rated M for foul language and adult situations.

"An Angry Man" by katinki 0

Posted by Anonymous

Edward Cullen is running from his past. Blaming himself for the car accident that caused the death of his sister Maria, Edward abandons his family and friends. Using alcohol as a means to forget, he hardly takes part in life. Yet when one Isabella Lovelace moves into his rental house, he suddenly has to face the demons he tried to suppress for so long.

An Angry Man is perfectly written and absolutely realistic. Edward is an alcoholic - more than once, he drinks himself into oblivion and forgets all about the world around him. When Bella becomes his new tenant, these things don't change. At least not over night. Yet after some time, Bella, who is battling her own fears and sorrows, somehow manages to show Edward the life he could have, if he was only willing to seek help.

As the story is completely written out of Edward's perspective, the reader is able to accompany him on his journey to sobriety and happiness. It's nerve-wrecking, funny, and sad. Just when you think he's on the right way, he succumbs to the darkness once more. You want to slap him in the face for being so stubborn and lost in unreasonable guilt.

An Angry Man consists of 52 chapters and a total of 223,323 words. All characters are human. The story is rated M for mature content.
