"Counsel" by Write Sisters 1

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Romy)

Edward is a formidable, ruthless prosecutor in the courtroom, possibly the best ADA in the District Attorney’s office. He is driven to seek justice by a devastating childhood that involved poverty, neglect and witnessing the premature death of his mother. His merciless approach to litigation has earned him the name Counsel by those he works with, and bastard or worse by the criminals he prosecutes. Of course women are naturally drawn to him, not only because of his dominating well-publicized persona in the courtroom, but also because he is extremely good looking. Edward however, has little time, patience or interest in a relationship with these superficial and pretentious women. The obstacles he has had to overcome to get him to where he is in this point in his life have left him uncaring behind his thick, protective, professional shell, but you will come to find out there is so much more to this seemingly arrogant man.

Within a few hours time, his axis is thrown off kilter by a series of events. His so-called live-in girlfriend has had enough of his inattentive ways and packs up and leaves, but he can’t find it in himself to care. He also finds out via the news that his former best friend, now Senator Jasper Whitlock, has been alleged with using a high dollar escort service and maybe more. Then, some woman rear ends his new Mercedes at a stop light because she said she was reaching for her phone, she has the audacity to smart off at him as he is chastising her, and to top it all off, he finds out later she gave him a bogus insurance number and a fictitious name of ‘B. Cygnet’. All he can discern from her graceful movements as she exits her car and the way she is dressed is that she must be a dancer. Of course you can probably figure out that was Bella. She is pretty much an enigma for the first part of the story, but as her character and story are slowly revealed, we find that despite circumstances that forced her to compromise her integrity, there is a lot more to her than first meets the eye. Just hang in there with her before you send the jury out to judge her!

Counsel is brilliantly written by Write Sisters as an intense keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat action thriller both in and out of the courtroom, with coordinated efforts between the DA’s office and the Boston PD to find evidence and round up suspects in a number of high profile criminal cases. The multiple fragments of the plot are expertly interwoven and gradually revealed with stunning precision and clarity. Can they find enough convincing evidence and missing key witnesses to convince to jury in each case? Will anything ever change the repulsion and animosity between the counsel and Bella: a key witness for the prosecution and alleged escort? A couple of the pairings are non-canon and heads up if you are an American reader: although the setting for this story is in Boston, MA, USA, the author is Aussie and often uses the old English spellings and terms. This was overall a magnificent story and I could not put it down. It also has a companion fic, Cygnet, which tells Bella’s story.

Counsel has 56 chapters with a total of 330,532 words. It is rated MA for themes, language and sexual situations.

"Barefoot In Texas" by planetblue 3

(banner made by Jaime)

Edward Cullen has just graduated from college and continues to pursue his career as a lawyer, planning to follow in the line of his father and eventually become a Senator of Texas. Does he want to go into the type of lawyer his father talks about or even politics - no. His parents are from a very wealthy background and have high expectations from their only son, Edward. So Carlisle, his father, molds and trains him to do whatever he wants, not factoring in his son's dreams; and although Edward's heart may want to do other things, they are set upon his parents wishes from a bad past experience. Coming from such a high background, there are things are acceptable for him, and things that just... aren't. The fact that they are trying to set him up with a woman whose background matches him financially doesn't sit well with him, but unfortunately, he goes along with his parents - as usual - and starts meeting Tanya. But between the days that he does not meet her rather boring personality, he finds himself coincidentally bumping into this wild woman with a colorful nature - Bella Swan. She is one person that makes him forget everything that is going on in his life and makes him realize his true identity.

Bella is a charismatic, beautiful brunette that has no care for the world. She is extremely happy about the nomadic way she lives. Her hippie nature has allowed her to travel all around the world and learn things from all different cultures. She lives life openly - completely opposite from Edward - and takes joy in the littlest of things that life provides you with. She is perfectly fine with walking barefoot and feeling the grass under her feet, A-OKAY with undressing in front of guys, because the body is something to be appreciated and not be embarrassed about, and dancing under twinkling lights with a song upon her lips, regardless of whether or not she is out of tune. So you see, she is a completely free spirit. When she sees Edward, she can immediately tell about his uptight nature - with a suit always upon him and a tie not loose enough at all. She realizes that Edward has a persona that has been crushed and buried deep within himself by his controlling parents. However when she is with him, she is able to bring out glimpses of a wild Edward too - one that she begins to fall in love with. But with her free spirit nature and his rich, grounded background, can the two of them commit to each other and allow their love to flourish? Will Edward finally see who he is and what he wants to be without the pressure from his parents?

GO READ THIS STORY if you haven't already!!! I am a huge fan of planetblue because of her great writing style and her capability of capturing the characters thoughts so well, and this story has made me love her even more so. I don't think I can praise this fanfiction enough, but it is extremely realistic with the right amount of humor, fluff, lemons, and drama. This is one of those perfect stories that you can sit down and read anytime, anywhere - even if you happen to re-read it! I am not sure why I waited so long to read this story, but I am very glad I got to read it regardless of my huge TBR list, and hope that you can bump it up a few notches in your lists too. The characters may seem very opposite from each other, and they are, but they bring out the best in each other. Bella makes Edward realize that there are things that he needs to figure out for himself, and not let his father or his parents control him despite of their lifestyle. And Edward makes Bella realize that sometimes, some people are worth staying back for no matter how much of a free spirit you really are. Oh, and apart from their significant pasts, did I mention that these two have a chemistry like no other? Yes, get ready to curl your toes at the fantastic lemons in this story too because these two can seriously make you pant! Don't hesitate on this classic story everyone, it is a MUST READ!

Barefoot In Texas consists of 23 chapters and a total of 85,333 words. The story is rated M for language and hot lemons.

"My Devil" by ExquisiteEdward (guest review by Gabriela) 0

Posted by
(banner made by Mandy)

Isabella Swan leads a life that she should have been happy with: she adores her loving brother and his two cute children, has a fiercely loyal best friend, is employed as an underwriter for an insurance company - a job that allows her to work from home - and spends her leisure time with Diablo, the most loving dog there is. It seems as if everything in her life was in place, if it weren't for one thing: the unhappy relationship she finds herself in. Things change, however, when a new neighbor moves in next door - a devilish handsome young man she happens to watch scr**ing his realtor. After meeting him for the first time, she gets the impression that he's simply an attractive asshole, who cares about nothing but sex and his expensive suits...

Naturally, forming a friendship with Edward "Asshole" Cullen - arrogant lawyer extraordinaire - is something that Bella is dead set against; especially given his sexual innuendoes and snarky remarks. Surprisingly, she soon learns that Edward is a good man after all, who is willing to put his desires aside to help Bella when she needs him the most: when she breaks up with her boyfriend and when helps his brother see that his wife is cheating on him. And when Edward tries to get rid of his special realtor friend, his newly-single neighbor jumps in and pretends to be his girlfriend. From there on, their not so platonic relationship blossoms into something Bella never thought could happen to her: love.

If you’re in the mood for some snarky hotness, this is a story for you. My Devil is a heartfelt, captivating, and realistic story that will leave your heart and hormones racing, and the humor of these characters will leave you laughing incredibly hard. It’s completely written in Bella’s point of view, with no angst but some drama and romance. Right from the start, you can feel the attraction between Edward and Bella and the lemons are hot and steamy! They’ll definitely leave your toes curling and probably have you needing a cigarette break. I read this story in less than a day and loved every word of it! I even had to put my kindle down to cool off - if that’s not any indication of how good it is, then I don't know what is. It’s definitely worth the read and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a light and enjoyable read with an awesome ending.

My Devil is consists of 20 chapters and a total of 134,468 words. The story is rated M for lemons and foul language.

"Bella's Second Chance" by jayhawkbb 0

(banner made by Mina)

Bella broke Edward's heart when she dumped him when they were 18 years old. Now, 15 years later, she is a widowed mother of three, running her deceased husband’s company. Her three fairy godmothers, a.k.a best friends, keep telling her that she needs to get some fun back in her life. Angela bribes her with yummy alcoholic beverages, Mary with delicious food, and Emma gives her a final push with a rather interesting philosophy. Bella is ready to dust off “Lily” and have some fun of the sexual variety and fate throws her a perfect opportunity in the form of an old-flame-now-turned-sex-god. Will she take the second chance she's been given? Follow the adventure of true love reuniting, lots of lemons, ridiculously rich characters, and... a lot more lemons.

This story has the perfect amount of humor and romance to make you laugh and swoon through every chapter. Bella is a very strong character. She has made mistakes she now regrets, but above all, she is a devoted mother and loyal friend. Unfortunately, she has forgotten to have a bit of fun along the way, and that’s when her best friends devise the plan for her to get her laid. Angela is the one who finds the sex god that will wake up “Lily” from her orgasmic slumber, but little does she know that the man chosen is more than perfect for the occasion. When Bella finds out who the sex god is, things don’t go as smooth as planned, but it all seems to work out thanks to the meddling fairy godmothers and a certain charming old man named Aro. Second chances are so rare, and Bella knows this, and thanks to a great support system, she gets that lost love back and the happily ever after she has always dreamed of.
All the characters in this story are great, they all bring something to the story, whether it is plot-wise or just for comedic relief, you can’t imagine this story without any of them. Though the story is told in Bella’s point of view, there is a clear picture of who Edward was when he was 18 and the man he is now. He will make you swoon, squirm and fall in love in one simple chapter. This story is all about taking the bull by the horns, seize the chance and make the most of it. A romantic tale of exploration, self discovery, having the courage to admit your mistakes and making amends. Jayhawkbb’s story is a wonderful journey, one that we won’t be forgetting for a long time. Go check it out, NOW!

Bella's Second Chance consists of 32 chapters and 186,939 words. The story is rated M for profanities and description of sexual activities.

"Slippery Slope" by bornonhalloween 0

Posted by Anonymous
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7527938/24/Slippery-Slope

Absolutely frustrated with her job as a social worker, Bella Swan decides to take a short break and join her best friend Alice for a weekend trip that will bring them to the snowy mountains of Powderloaf. But while Alice spends the first day of their mini-vacation enjoying sprinting down the slopes, Bella has to go to the beginner's class of Emmett Cullen where she first of all learns how to stand on her damn skis to begin with. After she feels confident to go a few rounds without falling down, she makes her way to the beginner's slope, followed by a very eager, yet totally careless James. The latter leaves Bella alone to enjoy some real fun on the more difficult slopes, causing Bella to get lost and ending up near two double black diamond trails, trails only meant for VERY experienced and IMMENSELY talented skiers...

When Edward Cullen sees the lost young woman up from his ski lift, he doesn't think twice but acts on instinct. Jumping from the lift, he makes his way to the stranded skier, passing angry men and women who desperately try not to drive right into her. Because of the girl's more than unfavorable position, Edward has no other choice but to crash right into her, thereby both keeping her from falling and preventing a huge mass accident from happening. And before he knows it, he makes it his personal mission to get Bella, the beautiful brunette with the witty humor and big smile, safely down the mountain. It's not an easy descent but after hours of talking, careful instructions by Edward, and lot's of laughing by Bella the two reach a cabin and grab some hot cocoa. Both quickly realize that they like each other a lot more than they should at this moment in time and both know that they only have two days left before they have to go back to their respective lives...

Slippery Slope is one thing: extremely funny. Bornonhalloween has written 24 short chapters - each of which giving you an insight into Bella's and Edward's POV - that will definitely put a big smile to your face! Edward and Bella are perfect for each other as they act, talk, and think in absolute harmony. From the moment they crash into each other, you know that they are meant to be, but alas, our lovely couple likes to take their time. It's a slow burn - don't expect the two of them rolling in the sheets after just a few meetings -  but the many sweet and romantic moments will certainly make up for that; they are simply wonderfully written! Slippery Slope is a great short story that will not fail to melt your hearts - give it a try!

Slippery Slope consists of 24 chapters and a total of 39,336 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities and foul language.

"Continuance" by Punchanella 0

Posted by Anonymous

It was in the courtroom where they saw each other the first time. He is a clever and hot as hell associate of the D.A.'s office, she's a more than successful defense attorney, who can win even the trickiest cases. Bella Swan and Edward Cullen have been attracted to each other from day one but while Edward uses all his charming skills to get a date with Bella, she seems to have some reservations of getting too close to him. Yet eventually one thing leads to another and Bella accompanies Edward to his home. After making sure that this is really what Bella wants, Edward loses no time in removing her clothes and getting her moan his name. It isn't until they have their fourth orgasm that night, that the two finally succumb to sleep.

But when Bella wakes up the next morning she immediately starts to panic. Yes, she had wanted him; for five months she did hardly anything else but fantasize about her and Edward Cullen in the throes of passion. But now that she had had the best sex of her life Bella realizes that there are far more feelings involved than she'd like to admit. The whole thing was supposed to be a one-night stand - one night to get him out of her system - but in reality is was only the beginning of her falling madly in love with him. What she doesn't know is that she's not alone because for Edward what they had the other night was a lot more than just sex. He doesn't just admire Bella's body but is also fascinated by her wit, intelligence, and humor. Needless to say, he doesn't recognize the cold and bitchy woman who is storming out of his apartment after telling him something like that would never happen again. It isn't until Edward's brother Emmett and Bella's best friend Alice start playing matchmaker that the two finally give each other a chance. Too bad that they will soon be in court together - both them trying to win the most important case of their lives...

Continuance is one of those underrate stories; maybe even a small gem. It is Punchanella's only completed story to this day and I have to say that this is a real pity. The story shows the author's great potential as it is almost free of grammatical mistakes, consists lots of humor (and let's be honest, to write funny conversations is NOT easy!), nice lemons, and an interesting story line! In each chapter, the reader is able to look into the minds of  Bella and Edward. The two are both very good at their jobs and have very dirty minds *grins*. From the moment they are notified that they'll face each other again in court one can guess that things will not go as smoothly as Bella and Edward might have wanted - because one of them definitely has to lose! Give the story a chance - I'm sure you'll be well entertained!

Continuance consists of 25 chapters and 97,412 words. The story is rated M for lemons and language.

"Such Great Heights" by SydneyAlice 0

Posted by
 (banner made by Mina)

Edward Cullen is beyond frustrated as nanny after nanny resigns and/or refuses to begin working in the first place. The reason: Edward's five-year-old son Riley. Only four months earlier, his (soon to be ex-wife) Jessica simply dumped the little boy on him and left without a single thought. Riley, more so than Edward, took to her blatant disappearance harshly. He turned into himself, dismissing everyone who tried to come too close to him. Enter Bella Swan, a young woman in desperate need of a job, who hears about Edward's unfortunate situation through his sister Rosalie. Though her dream job had always been teaching in elementary school, she was unable to find work. Therefore, Bella decides to give it a try and starts working as Riley Cullen's nanny. Unfortunately, her first encounter with father and son doesn't turn out very well...

By the end of her first day Bella knows why Riley makes so many problems: it seems like Mrs. Jessica Cullen set rigid and stupid rules, expecting her four-year old boy to behave like an adult - no toys, books, or play dates included. Instead she wants to turn him into the prodigal son she always wanted to have. Interestingly enough, it isn't just Riley, who is bound in the rules of the never present woman - Edward is as well! As a lawyer he has to work hard and long hours, therefore not having much time for Riley. He beats himself up for his son's deranged behavior. The love he has for his son - really the only kind of love he ever felt for someone - is profound and it's therefore unbearable for him to witness Riley suffer. Edward finds himself in need of a companion; someone who would understand him, someone in whom he could confide. Soon, after Bella's starts working her magic and begins rounding off the boys' rough edges into smooth ones, what once seemed like a cold and unwelcome home (as Bella has to take care of Riley 24/7 she moved in with him and Edward) suddenly becomes a warm and colorful home. It doesn't take long for the two green-eyed Cullen boys to fall in love with the new nanny. But does Bella have the courage to seriously commit to them after all she has been through in her past? And what will happen when Jessica suddenly returns, demanding to reclaim her child?

SydneyAlice has written many excellent fanfictions and this is definitely one of her best! You will immediately find yourself falling in love with adorable little Riley and his need for unconditional love. Each character has a significant role in the story, no matter how big or small, and although you will come to hate Jessica's antagonistic character (I know I did!), you come to terms with the way Sydneyalice depicts her by the end of the fanfic. There are also two unique characters portrayed in this story that are rarely included in other fanfics: Carmen, a motherly woman who works as caretaker and cook at Edward's house, and Jane, who is a child psychiatrist and helps Riley with his emotions. Overall, Such Great Heights is a story that will tug at your heart with the amount of emotions it displays and you will find yourself eagerly anticipating the happily ever after that Edward, Bella, and Riley deserve. I absolutely loved this fanfic and have no doubt that you will too!

Such Great Heights consists of 32 chapters and 107,444 words. The story is rated M for foul language and references to sexual activities.

"Law of Attraction" by samekraemer 0

Posted by Anonymous

Following the suggestion of her advisor Dr. Carlisle Cullen, university student Bella Swan applies for the position of summer associate at Reed & O’Sullivan, a law firm specializing in intellectual property. After a number of interviews Bella comes face to face with Edward Cullen, Dr. Cullen's good-looking son, and head of the Associate’s Committee as well as the summer program. And though Edward seems rather cold and indifferent towards her, the young student gets the job and starts working only a couple of months later. What she doesn't know is that with just one look she had done what no other woman ever could: taming Edward Cullen.

Because her future boss used to be everything but a choirboy. As a womanizer extraordinaire, the Edward made it a habit of sleeping with everything having boobs within a two mile radius. But a single look of Bella is enough to make Edward see clearly. Suddenly he thinks about her walking down the aisle towards him, a huge house with a white picket fence and brown-eyed children with wild bronze hair running around the backyard. Determined to make her his, he changes his playboy lifestyle and starts charming the hell out of Bella. Unfortunately though, Bella isn't willing to become just another one of his hookups and is willing to show him the cold shoulder...

Law of Attraction is a wonderfully written story. samekramer's writing style is very sophisticated, gripping, and fast-paced. Furthermore, you will hardly find any typos and grammatical mistakes which makes reading this fanfic a very pleasant experience. The chapters are written from both Edward's and Bella's POV, with close to no repetitions. The supporting characters are well portrayed and very likable. I was especially captivated by the wonderful friendship between Edward and Angela, something I don't think I've ever encountered before in other fanfictions. Add to that some nice lemons and this story is close to perfect and a definite must-read!

Law of Attraction consists of 28 chapters and a total of 148,187 words. The story is rated M for lemons and foul language.

"The Practice of Love" by belladonnacullen 0

Posted by Anonymous

It is 12 o'clock - lunchtime - and Dr. Bella Swan has an "emergency" waiting in the lab. Based on the dreamy looks of the nurses the young woman prepares herself to meet someone at least as gorgeous as Brad Pitt and is pleased when her expectations are even exceeded. There, dressed with only a thin cotton gown, sits 32-year-old Edward Masen, cancer survivor and the epitome of sexiness.

During one of his regular self checks Edward found a lump on one of his testicles and immediately went to see his uncle, Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Unfortunately for Edward (well, depending on the point of view), Carlisle and his wife Esme decided to spend some days out of town to celebrate their 30th anniversary. That leaves Bella Swan in charge of the practice and Edward in the capable hands of a more than attractive woman...

The Practice of Love is a slow burn. It takes a lot of time for the characters to realize their feelings and admit them to not only themselves but to others around them as well. I'm honest, I've started reading this fanfiction twice and didn't get any further than the first ten chapters. Why? Because I was impatient. Don't expect Bella and Edward to jump into each other's beds at the end of the first chapter, if nothing else than because they are both in more (Jake) or less (Tanya) committed relationships. So as a reader you need a lot of time on your hands to read about all the side plots, get to know the characters (Ness a.k.a. Little Bell is such a cutie!), and watch Bella and Edward get closer, step by step. But once you get into the story, it is one hell of a ride!

The Practice of Love consists of 38 chapters and 342,824 words. The story is rated M for foul language and lemons.

"High Fidelity" by IReen H 0

Posted by

Bella—a breast cancer survivor who wears her pain on her skin in a multitude of colorful tattoos—shifts through her mail one day and realizes she’s been wrongfully accused of a hit and run. The accuser? Allstate agent, Edward Cullen, whose office just so happens to be located in the same building Bella works in. However, resolving the issue sets her off on one hell of a roller coaster ride and the two clash harder than a bulldozer and a freight train. The hits just keep on coming when Bella sets off to work her side job at a catering service ("Jane’s Kitchen") which has been hired to cater none other than Carlisle Cullen’s fifth wedding. There, Bella is subject to Edward’s drunk, crass, and rude behavior the entire night, adding fuel to the already burning fire of hate she harbors for him. Shortly after, Edward requests for "Jane’s Kitchen" to cater his upcoming Christmas Party. On one condition: he wants Bella to be the one to work the party.  Much to Bella’s dismay...

But what Bella doesn't know is that there are several factors that have lead Edward to become the self-destructive bitter man he is today. Edward suffers from heavy guilt and PTSD after serving a full tour of duty as a high ranking marine in Afghanistan. As a result of a traumatic experience that almost took his life, he is unable to emotionally connect with anyone in his life, especially his family. A family that has its own closet full of problems. As a result, he attempts to cope with sex and alcohol. That is, until he meets one woman who forces him to take responsibilities for himself. It’s a long and bumpy road filled with roadblocks and pile-up crashes—all of which bring both of them to their breaking points.

IReen H is one of my favorite authors to date. She has a style of her own that sucks you in until you’re unable to stop reading until the end. What I love most is that the author put real-life experiences into her story, giving it an authentic taste that lingers and makes you crave for more. The story is well written in both Bella and Edward’s POVs, giving the reader both sides of their corroded coin. When you read you feel like you’re there—especially when Edward talks about his tour in Afghanistan. The sexual tension between these two burns off the pages and the buildup leads to great satisfaction. But Bella and Edward’s relationship has LOTS of ups and downs and the story is filled with angst. It’s a slow burn between these two, and a long road to recovery. If you’re looking for fluff, you won’t find it here. But if you want an experience of a lifetime, sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s well worth it.

High Fidelity consists of 22 chapters and a total of 205,466 words. The story is rated MA for Sexual content, language, violence, and other adult material.

"Songbird" by SydneyAlice 0

Posted by Anonymous

On the night of Alice and Jasper's wedding Bella and Edward meet for the first time. When Edward hears Bella play the piano and sing a wonderful song, he knows he has to have her. The two spend a heated night together, but have to go separate ways the next day. Yet, it doesn't take long until they face each other again because Bella finds out that she is pregnant. When she informs Edward about his fatherhood he is more than shocked and at first doesn't really want to believe that the baby is his. Soon, however, Edward decides to face the truth and realizes that Bella was more to him than just a one night stand. Having a baby with her might not be that bad at all.

Songbird is a very sweet story and has a lot of daddyward in it! Because Bella learns about her pregnancy relatively early in the story, the reader experiences almost the whole pregnancy with her and Edward. From the first doctor appointments, to finding out the gender of their child, to looking for the perfect nursery, we're always there. It's great to see Edward getting used to the role of being a father and Bella becoming a protective and loving mother. Oh, and the nice lemons should be mentioned as well! ;  )

Songbird consists of 25 chapter and a total of 103,656 words. The story is rated M for mature content.
