Doing press junkets is definitely not Edward Cullen's favorite pastime. Over and over again, he has to answer the same boring questions, smile even though he feels pretty tired, and ignore all the not so subtle sexual innuendoes coming from the female journalists. But job is job and so Edward endures the torture that just won't seem to end. When the press agent finally tells him that there is only one journalist left the 30-year old actor sees the light behind the tunnel. In walks a beautiful brunette who neither wants to jump him right there nor seems to be too fazed by having to interview the "Sexiest Man Alive". Edward soon finds out that Bella, the refreshing and stunning woman sitting right opposite him, is actually just substituting for a friend. Their conversation flows easily and Edward feels like he's talking to an old aquaintance, a confidant even, instead of a journalist who will write a page-long article about him.

Because his brother Emmett and sister-in-law Rose notice that something is on his mind Edward confesses that he just can't get the brunette journalist out of his head. After lot's of coaxing from Rosalie (and after having run into Bella again in a grocery store) he finally makes a few calls to get Bella's phone number. To say that she is surprised to be called by the hottest actor walking this earth would be an understatement. After having told every single detail of her meeting with Edward to her best friend Angela Bella has difficulties thinking about anything else. That she, 5'3'' of ordinariness, is called by Edward Cullen is as overwhelming as it is exhilarating! The two meet for coffee and soon start going on dates. The moment their lips meet for the first time they both realize three things: one, this is a lot more than just a casual fling; two, as Edward shares his home with Emmett and Rose and Bella lives with Angela there is no private place for them to... you know; and three: dating a movie star is far from being romantic.
SpecialK199 manages to realistically portray the life of a movie star. Edward is, both in appearance and character, very similar to Rob and thus very likable! He is shy, modest, and charming, and loves Bella the moment he lays eyes on her (even though he might not know that at the time). Once they finally (!) manage to have their wicked way with each other in Bella's new apartment, the two are going at it like bunnies. That said, don't expect graphic lemons - a lot of things are only implied or hinted at. What made me enjoy this story so much is mainly that all character have an incredible sense of humor. Rose is wonderful, especially when interacting with Emmett. She sees right through her brother in law and plays cupid more than once. Angela is... hilarious. Whether almost "dying" from a cold or making sure that Bella has a ladies night once Edward is gone shooting a movie, this girl is just like every best girlfriend should be. A wonderful story that will make you smile!
Reel Life consists of 21 chapters and 121,834 words. The story is rated M for language and lemons.
