"Shadow Mission" by maxigrumpling 1

(banner made by beegurl13)

When you look at the many popular images of Edward Cullen, you can clearly recognize the devastatingly handsome A-list movie star who has an outstanding reputation for immersing himself into the characters he portrays. He has just completed the fifth installment of a highly successful series called “Shadow Mission” where he plays the lead role of Special Agent, James Goodall. The only problem is, he doesn’t always come out of character when he leaves the set. This personality shift apparently happens as a defense mechanism triggered by confrontation or stress in his life and seems to have started after an unresolved tragedy that happened five years ago which resulted in the death of his former bodyguard, Charlie Swan. In addition to his mental instability, he can’t remember anything from before that time, he hears voices in his head, has nightmares and has his current bodyguard, Emmett McCarty, at wits end to keep him safe and protected; especially when he slips into other personalities. What exactly happened years ago when Charlie was shot that left him so traumatized? Why was there no resolution to the investigation? Why can’t Emmett find any records of Edward’s life before that time?

Bella Swan was his closest friend when Edward was a beginning actor and her dad was his bodyguard. They did many things together on a daily basis and over the years, even though she was a little too young to be in a relationship with him, they both harbored feelings of more than friendship that they never acted on. She had hopes that one day it could all work out, but suddenly, after Charlie’s tragic and mysterious death, Edward cut all ties with her. He did not even attend Charlie’s funeral or send any condolences or respond to any calls. She was blocked and denied at every attempt to contact him by Edward’s agent, Tanya Denali, and after repeated attempts, she finally decided she had had enough. It had been five years and she wanted some answers. After being turned away at the gate to Edward’s mansion, she scaled the fence, fell out of the tree, was promptly apprehended by security, and she still demanded to see Edward! What will happen? Will she ever get to see Edward and get answers? Will he remember her?

This is a spectacular fanfiction! You will be immediately pulled in to Shadow Mission by the brilliant writing and sequencing of maxigrumpling, but get this - the plot and story-line are from Mr. maxigrumpling! How cool of a collaboration is that? The author also uses a clever ploy of successfully writing this in multiple first person POVs, which gives you a feeling of being omnipresent, like you are viewing changing scenes in a movie and can see action happening through the eyes of different people; one of those being the most impressive Emmett characters you will have ever met. Shadow Mission will get your adrenaline pumping as it is a fast-paced, action-packed mystery full of intrigue and conspiracy that will appeal to you on a wide range of emotions. On top of the danger and suspense, there is comfort, humor and at the heart of it is of course, the truly inspiring and healing joy of rediscovering a lost love. Shadow Mission consists of 21 chapters and a total of 188,658 words. It is rated M for language, content and sexy times.

"Deep in the Heart of Me" by counselor 0

(banner made by Romy)

Since Edward “Tonio” Cullen is the oldest of nine, he carries the weight and responsibilities of being a firstborn on his shoulders. The responsibilities that he holds towards his family have been instilled within him early on, giving him the insight of a grown man in an almost fourteen year old’s body. His personality is an interesting cross between his hard-working/ready-to-fight-for-family Irish father and his fiery, passionate Italian mother. He contemplates that he might be handsome; his 'granma' says it's common knowledge and his dad says, "he won't break a mirror." And although he is accustomed to working long, hard hours on the family farm, often from before sunrise until after sunset, he sometimes wonders what life could be for him beyond just the farm and his duties. Little does he know how soon he will come to find that out...

Everything is as it should be in his world until one day when a sleek black car passes him, his brothers and sisters on the dirt road as they are walking the mile to school, bringing the new sheriff to town to drop off his daughter and turning Tonio's life completely upside down. This new girl is dressed in a crisp new dress and shoes with ribbons in her hair - the prettiest thing he has ever seen. The teacher starts to introduce her as “Isa-”, but her father quickly corrects her saying, “Her name is Sobe.” Not only is Sobe Swan sweet, pretty and smart, but apparently also a harbinger of all kinds of trouble. Trouble not only for a smitten young Tonio’s heart, but a host of other situations, some of which she keeps deeply hidden. Why is her father giving her a different name? What kind of adventures will these two young people experience and what obstacles will they encounter before they can be together?

Deep in the Heart of Me is of course, our beloved counselor’s latest addicting gem in the crown of her many fanfiction accomplishments. My words cannot adequately praise her unique ability to so completely and vividly immerse you into the mindset of her characters that transport you to another place and time; this time through the riveting point of view of young Tonio Cullen! counselor’s superior mastery of words will evoke the rawest of emotions from you, from total disbelief of what is happening, nail-biting suspense of what will happen, complete angst and rage against powers that be, and of course, swooning over the yearning and adoration Tonio has for his beloved Sobe and his determination to let nothing or no one keep them from being together. This coming of age journey is of epic proportions, spanning several years while his character matures and evolves from being reckless and hard-headed to someone with vision and purpose; enduring and surviving many adventures, twists, turns, trials and tribulations on his way to becoming the man he is destined to be, with the woman he is destined to be with. If you are not already reading this, what are you waiting for? You need to click on the link right now and go share this spectacular experience!

Deep in the Heart of Me has 100 Chapters and 155,396 words. It is rated M for themes and content.

"Gothic" by author-self-insert 0

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by beegurl13)

Gothic: pertaining to a style of literature characterized by a gloomy setting, grotesque, mysterious, or violent events, and an atmosphere of degeneration and decay. This describes not only focus of the classes Dr. Isabella Swan teaches as a professor of Early Modern Literature, but it also her proclivity in her personal life as a connoisseur of horror films and 19th-century Gothic novels. She rationalizes that these things are her safe haven where she can immerse herself in the tortuous existence of the characters in these stories - as a way to escape from her own; choosing the safe haven of books with characters that will cause her no pain as opposed to people in real life who can. She is extremely intelligent and thought-provoking, often leaving you chuckling from her unusual and hilarious thought associations, but she is also constantly disparaging herself as awkward or not socially acceptable or what a “burden it must be for people to have to look at someone like me”. She is always expecting the worst from others and questioning every action and word for ulterior motives, but she endeavors to appear ‘normal’ and charming in front of her colleagues and students; trying to present herself as tolerable and carefully following all the rules of etiquette. What could have happened in her life to leave her so disturbed and damaged? What had she endured as a young girl to drive her to only find solace in books of Gothic literature?

For one thing, meet Edward Cullen, the bane of her existence. Back in high school he was the leader of the resident ‘brat pack’ who made it their sole purpose in life to bully, humiliate and torment Bella and her best friend, Alice, making their daily lives a living hell. Now he shows up ten years later at the bar where her department colleagues are having ‘happy hour’ and he has the audacity to approach and speak to her, and even has the nerve to ask her to help him solve the mysterious cold case murder of his ex-girlfriend, Tanya, that happened right after high school. And why ask Bella? Because willing or not, she was his only alibi that kept him from being tried for the murder himself, and the only one who knows without a doubt he did not do it. Now he’s intruding on her personal life once again, saying he’s a doctor, he’s changed, and he’s sorry. You have to give him credit for being a persistent fella who keeps asking her questions, eventually figuring out how to play by her rules - but still pushes her buttons to get her to talk. Then he listens in fascination as she goes on one of her crazy rants - even though most of the time he has no idea what she is talking about! Her passive-aggressive treatment of Edward, and the changing dynamics and dialogue between these two is like watching a championship tennis match.

Author-self-insert will definitely keep you on your toes with her brilliant and articulate word play, the intense, intriguingly complex plot and the absolutely unique voice she has given Bella. You will be torn between cracking up over Bella's inner dialogue and feeling heartbroken for her damaged sense of self-worth and complete distrust of everyone. You will discover that Gothic is so much more than a murder mystery, even though that part will have you continually racking your brain to come up with your own theories as to ‘whodunit’ and keep you riveted on the edge of your seat. It is also an intellectually challenging and emotionally provoking study of the struggle of two flawed individuals to deal not only with the demons of their pasts, but with increasingly disturbing events that start happening in the present; while at the same time forging the basic foundation of a budding relationship with each other - seemingly against the all the odds. Can they figure it all out? Do you think you can figure it out? Are you up for the challenge? Don’t miss out on this gem, it's perfect for Friday the 13th ;-)!

Gothic contains 23 chapters and a total of 116,449 words. The story is rated M for language and content.

"Duty and Desire" by Aspenleaf 0

(banner made by Romy)

Meet Mr. Edward Anthony Masen, who when he twenty years of age found himself heir to the huge estate of Pemberley, a fortune, and guardian to ten year old little sister, Alice. He feels bound by his duty to preserve his impeccable family name and status in high society, and the responsibility for all of those in his employ. Now, at twenty-seven years of age, he endeavors to observe obligatory social functions from a safe distance to avoid being accosted by the artificial, superficial, incessant women who only want him for what he stands for, not who he is, including Emmett's evil harpy of a sister, Tanya. Tired of the endless pursuits of such women, he becomes more and more jaded. He continually wonders if he will ever meet a woman who is of high caliber, but who is also intelligent, witty, and spirited; when one day it happens out of nowhere. While riding his horse during a storm, he encounters a beautiful young woman walking along the road and dancing in the rain. He is intrigued and gets closer; entranced by her beautiful features, her long dark hair and gets lost in her big brown eyes. He asks politely if he could be of assistance and introduces himself, finding out she is Isabella, the daughter of a gentleman whose estate is nearby as he kisses her sweet hand. Then, with complete disregard to the duty of his station and against all rules of propriety and polite society, he leans down and kisses her soft lips.

In the days that follow, he learns that she is one of five sisters and that although her father is a land owner, they are far beneath what is considered socially acceptable for a man of his high status. To be with her would taint and ruin his family name that he is bound by duty to preserve and uphold. He determines he must distance himself from her, yet he is almost driven to madness with hopeless dreams of her. She is his heaven and hell, the one woman he had been searching his entire life for, but Isabella, no matter how beautiful, intelligent or talented, comes from an unsuitable family. His actions towards her run hot and cold and many times he treats her intolerably - trying desperately to maintain that distance; yet he is undeniably physically attracted to her and emotionally torn. Will he let her lower station in life continue to make him shun her as unattainable, or will he overcome this deeply ingrained sense of duty to pursue his desire and find happiness? Would she even accept him if he did?

Set in early nineteenth century England, this is a spectacular adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by Aspenleaf that will keep you entranced with it's poetic Victorian prose, visual imagery, character development and it's own unique twists and turns in the compelling plot. You will find this flawless story emotionally engaging, full of drama, romance, a little angst, a dastardly evil villain, action, and of course, some sweet loving! This is one of the early fanfiction classics that was just as exciting for me to re-read now as it was several years ago. Allow yourself to get immersed into another wonderful place and time and go read this!

Duty and Desire consists of 30 chapters with 115,375 words. It is rated M for themes, violence and sexual situations.

"A Ilha do Amor" by tufano79 1

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by beegurl13)

Bella is five minutes away from walking down the aisle when she receives a very abrupt breakup text from her fiancé, Tyler, saying that he can't marry her because he's in love with someone else - his roommate, Eric! Bella’s over-the-top reaction is understandable but very entertaining as her inner ranting is quite humorous. She commiserates with her bridesmaids who quickly rally behind her and convince her to go ahead with the prepaid three week honeymoon trip to a resort island off Rio, even if it's minus the groom; she definitely deserves some relaxing and fun time to herself. They pack her suitcase and put her on the plane to 'A Ilha do Amor', a.k.a The Island of Love, with instructions to call it a ‘singlemoon’ and with encouragement to find herself a Brazilian hottie to hook up with as a distraction when she gets there. While on the layover between flights, she meets a vivacious young woman named Alice who strikes up a conversation with her, which proves to be a turning point in Bella's trip. They realize they are on the same flight and heading to the same resort which, coincidentally, Alice’s family owns and operates. Alice describes her family members, including her middle brother, Edward, who is a brilliant accountant in charge of all the business decisions. However, Alice advises her to steer clear of the "douche" as he has a tendency to sleep his way through the female guest list without a second thought. Little does Bella know what a challenge that will prove to be!

Yes, Edward is pretty disgusting at first as he clearly has no respect for the women he has been with or himself and distances himself from any emotional attachments. He is an arrogant and presumptuous womanizer and you will really want to inflict him with some bodily harm! But when he sets his eyes on the stunning new petite brunette guest who just arrived at the resort and who wants absolutely nothing to do with him, he is completely thrown off guard since he is not used to rejection. He is puzzled because he gets a strange feeling around her like he has felt for no other woman. After repeated rejections and all out avoidance from Bella, her heated accusations strike a nerve and he starts to question his lifestyle and what he is doing. Is that all he truly wants in his life...fleeting gratification from meaningless, faceless hook-ups? Can he possibly redeem himself in the eyes of his family...and her? It will make you wonder what happened to this man in the past that made him so calloused and jaded. Enjoy experiencing his character evolve as his story emerges!

If you could use some laughs and appreciate witty banter, tune in for all the hilarity and adventure as tufano79 takes you on a wild tropical roller coaster journey with these two stubborn individuals. You can feel the tension and passion build as they circle around and size each other up, trying to fight the undeniable attraction, trying unsuccessfully to justify all the reasons this can't work; but who rediscover themselves and finally, each other! The story is very engaging and quick paced right from the beginning with all kinds of fun in the sun, a wonderful supporting cast, a bit of suspense and drama, and yes - ultimately - the hot-as-hellfire romance with lemons that will have you self-combusting into thin air. In fact, you might need use of a fan, an ice cold drink or other devices to cool off as you read! Don't miss out on this epic page-turner!

A Ilha do Amor consists of 38 chapters and 298,949 words. Rated MA for language and sexy smut.

"Through the Flames" by SparklingTwilight 0

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Romy)

Firefighters are held in the utmost esteem in our society; our modern-day heroes ready to put their lives on the line to protect any living thing in harm’s way. Lieutenant Edward Cullen is one of these men - the eldest son in a family of firefighters, along with his two younger brothers and his father who is the Fire Chief. At a glance, this family is the epitome of pillars of the community, but as we get a closer look behind the scenes, we find a highly dysfunctional group of members instead. Edward has always been the hard-working, responsible one and everyone in the family automatically has the highest expectations of him; they look to him to solve all their problems or pick up their slack and put way too much pressure on him. Carlisle expects him to run the station in his absence, pick up extra shifts and lays the heavy responsibility of watching out for the safety of his irresponsible brothers on his shift. The brothers turn to Edward for financial help when they haven’t managed their money or gambled it away and Edward bails them out. Yet, they never express gratitude or offer to pay him back. Not one of them put his needs before their own. That is, until the night he ran into a complete structure fire against orders to search for and rescue one young lady named Bella, who was reported missing according to her friends.

Struggling against the flames and collapsing building, he finally locates her, unconscious from smoke inhalation, gives her his oxygen mask and jacket and almost makes it back to the entrance when he feels the floor begin to give way under him. In a last ditch effort to save her, he throws her towards the door yelling, “Grab her!” as he plummets into the basement's darkness and the building collapses on him. When Bella regains consciousness in the hospital, the events of her accident replay back in her mind and she immediately wants to go see the firefighter that risked his life for her, especially since Edward remains unconscious in the ICU. Someone needs to be there for him to help shoulder the weight of the pain he suffers from constantly, the hardships of adjusting to being dependent and needing physical therapy, the fear of the possibility of being permanently disabled, and that person would be her because in her mind she owed him a debt of gratitude. His bravery had given her the chance to live out her life and find happiness, and with any luck, she would be able to give him the same chance.

TtF comes with heart fail and multiple tissue warnings, yet a wonderfully developed and mind-blowing plot. SparklingTwilight superbly depicts how the selfless but near-fatal act of one brave firefighter choosing someone else's life over his own, brings one troubled family to their knees; but how that event is a catalyst for changes and healing for both Edward and his family members. The author takes you on an intense journey of a man who had achieving his goals within reach, but because of who he is and a split second decision, he agonizingly almost lost it all. Will he ever be able to walk again after his back injury? Will he ever think beyond his own pain and difficulties to see the sacrifices Bella makes; how she is always there to meet his every need, calm his fears and offer words of encouragement? TtF is indeed a slow agonizing burn, but so worth it in the end. Don't miss out on this compelling story, but maybe have a box of tissues handy!

Through the Flames has 41 chapters with 200,140 words. The story is rated M for themes, language and sexual situations.

"Counsel" by Write Sisters 1

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Romy)

Edward is a formidable, ruthless prosecutor in the courtroom, possibly the best ADA in the District Attorney’s office. He is driven to seek justice by a devastating childhood that involved poverty, neglect and witnessing the premature death of his mother. His merciless approach to litigation has earned him the name Counsel by those he works with, and bastard or worse by the criminals he prosecutes. Of course women are naturally drawn to him, not only because of his dominating well-publicized persona in the courtroom, but also because he is extremely good looking. Edward however, has little time, patience or interest in a relationship with these superficial and pretentious women. The obstacles he has had to overcome to get him to where he is in this point in his life have left him uncaring behind his thick, protective, professional shell, but you will come to find out there is so much more to this seemingly arrogant man.

Within a few hours time, his axis is thrown off kilter by a series of events. His so-called live-in girlfriend has had enough of his inattentive ways and packs up and leaves, but he can’t find it in himself to care. He also finds out via the news that his former best friend, now Senator Jasper Whitlock, has been alleged with using a high dollar escort service and maybe more. Then, some woman rear ends his new Mercedes at a stop light because she said she was reaching for her phone, she has the audacity to smart off at him as he is chastising her, and to top it all off, he finds out later she gave him a bogus insurance number and a fictitious name of ‘B. Cygnet’. All he can discern from her graceful movements as she exits her car and the way she is dressed is that she must be a dancer. Of course you can probably figure out that was Bella. She is pretty much an enigma for the first part of the story, but as her character and story are slowly revealed, we find that despite circumstances that forced her to compromise her integrity, there is a lot more to her than first meets the eye. Just hang in there with her before you send the jury out to judge her!

Counsel is brilliantly written by Write Sisters as an intense keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat action thriller both in and out of the courtroom, with coordinated efforts between the DA’s office and the Boston PD to find evidence and round up suspects in a number of high profile criminal cases. The multiple fragments of the plot are expertly interwoven and gradually revealed with stunning precision and clarity. Can they find enough convincing evidence and missing key witnesses to convince to jury in each case? Will anything ever change the repulsion and animosity between the counsel and Bella: a key witness for the prosecution and alleged escort? A couple of the pairings are non-canon and heads up if you are an American reader: although the setting for this story is in Boston, MA, USA, the author is Aussie and often uses the old English spellings and terms. This was overall a magnificent story and I could not put it down. It also has a companion fic, Cygnet, which tells Bella’s story.

Counsel has 56 chapters with a total of 330,532 words. It is rated MA for themes, language and sexual situations.

"A Measure of Grace" by Saritadreaming 2

Posted by KatHat
(banner made by Romy)

We start with Bella, a somewhat reluctant, yet kickass survivor in the present day; but through wellplaced flashbacks we can piece together what has happened in the previous weeks and months. A deadly virus had spread and quickly killed a majority of people and animals in her town. After this virus reached pandemic levels, Bella one by one buried her loved ones in the backyard, including at the end, her beloved twin sister. She is clueless regarding the whereabouts of her parents as well, Renee having left her family when she was just ten, and Charlie yet to come back from work days ago. Deciding that there is nothing and no one else left for her except for the rotting scent of decaying bodies, she packs some food along with survival supplies and leaves. After several harrowing adventures of trying to find a place, she wakes up on the side of a cliff, not remembering how she got there, and befriends a German shepherd - whom she names Grace - lying nearby. She spots a village at the bottom of the cliff, which seems unusually vacant, and seeks refuge there temporarily along with Grace in order to catch some food supplies. But when she wakes up again after a full stomach, she is unable to find traces of the food she and Grace ate not long ago. In fact, Grace herself seems to be missing...

As she runs outside calling for Grace, she collides with a dark, dangerous, arrogant, and militant type man who is really angry. Meet Edward, aka "Max". He orders her to leave upon their first meeting, but when he won't tell her why, she refuses to comply. She discretely observes the tattoos running up his arms and his well-muscled body as he regards her with anger and indifference. She wonders what mysteries he is hiding behind those flashing sea green eyes. Just when she couldn't be more confused, he approached her in the middle of the night and orders her to stay "quiet and low" while something terrifying happens outside. The following day, "Max" suddenly leaves without giving her further information except that he would be back at some point. What Bella does in the meantime is nothing short of amazing. Does he come back? What is going on - is there some kind of conspiracy? Are there others? And what exactly is she developing for this mysterious man?

As many fics as I read through, it is truly a joy to discover a pure gem. A Measure of Grace is brilliantly written, both in vivid imagery that makes you feel through your mind's eye that you are right there, front row, watching all the mystery and intrigue unfold like it's on a big screen, and it has a plot-line that is unique and extraordinary. The pacing is aggressive, keeping you on the edge of your seat, and it will keep you hitting next to find out wth is going on. The story is a work in progress but Saritadreaming updates every other Tuesday. Be sure to check out this nail-biting fic!

A Measure of Grace has 21 chapters so far with 76,520 words. It is rated M for violence, language, and sexual situations.

"Marriage and other Catastrophes" by Angel-Miyu 1

Posted by
(banner made by Bethany)

Bella Swan thought she had escaped every tie she had to high society, and her family. She refused to go to the top schools her family wanted her to go to, majored in a less than desirable degree, and built her own publishing house. She was breaking the binds, and they didn't like it. Unfortunately for Bella, her grandfather had been the person who financed the start of Phoenix, and would stop at nothing to get his way. So, when she was told she must marry a stranger by the name of Edward Cullen, she outright refused. Well, until said grandfather threatened the publishing house she had worked for years to make successful. She found herself backed to a corner and, against her own desires, she agreed. She didn't want to marry for any other reason besides love, and she certainly didn't want to marry so her family could get access to the better and wealthier social circles in Boston.

Edward Cullen, on the other hand, was content with his shallow relationship with Tanya Denali. He and Bella had agreed, while discussing their prenuptial agreement, that Edward could maintain his relationship with Tanya as long as he was totally discreet and out of the public eye.  He agreed, not expecting to be charmed by this witty beauty. As a more personal relationship with his wife began to develop, and work overtook most of their time, Edward didn't get to spend as much time with his mistress as she would have liked. Tanya, who needed more of Edward's attention, began using more extreme tactics in order to get a reaction. Unfortunately for her, she only received negative attention from Edward, his wife, and his family in return. Even after Edward decided to break things of with Tanya, and chose to focus on building a relationship, there would always be forces trying to tear this couple apart.

Marriage and other Catastrophes has a wonderful plot, but there are many errors in grammar that can be distracting to some readers - I know I was tempted (more than once) to stop reading, but was so intrigued with the plot that I just had to finish. MaoC has moments where, as a reader, you're bound to be exasperated, laughing, and maybe even shedding some tears. Angel-Miyu has done a great job portraying Bella as such an independent woman, who refuses to take part of the lifestyle her family carries. Edward has his moments, as does every character - every person. There are times, when reading from his view, where the reader will likely want to punch him (*raises hand*) and shake some sense into him. There are many twists and turns in this story, and all loose ties come together in the end. Plus, there are plenty of lemons which will satisfy any reader.

Marriage and other Catastrophes consists of 38 chapters and 207,234 words. The story is rated M for foul language, violence, and lemons.

"Mafia Princess" by verucasin 3

Posted by
(banner made by Mina)

A few years back, Edward and Bella seemed to be content with their relationship; unfortunately, it only lasted for about a month before either could truly reveal their feelings to each other and before reality hit them both with a force. Neither had expected their worlds to turn down on their backs when they discovered their respective hidden secrets. Edward has his own reasons for breaking up with her and discovers that he is part of the biggest mafia group in the the entire Chicago due to a series of terrible events previously. Thinking that a perfect girlfriend like Bella was certainly not perfect for a mobward like him, the two of them split up - only to meet three years later under a contractual marriage between, not one, but two mafia families. It turns out that Bella's father was also the leader of another borgata - though it was smaller than Edward's - and right before becoming the target of a rival, he had made a pact with Edward to join forces by his and Bella's marriage. But will Bella be able to get over the shock that Edward is the same Masen she fell in love with so many years ago? Will Edward be able to convince her to forgive him? And more importantly, will they be able to stand against the powerful enemy that is the Volturi?

Mafia Princess is a great dramatic story that will have you hooked from the very first chapter! I absolutely loved the plot, which also included E/B's personal hook-up apart from the story as a whole about concurring the rival mob. Edward and Bella are really sweet together and their moments is something you will constantly look forward to. It is a great mix of mafia action combined with humor and romance and I highly suggest you read it - especially if you are into a sexy Edward with a gun in his hand ;). Bella's character is also very strong in this fanfiction, because she has really grown from her naive teen self to a woman - when her father passes away and she realizes that she has to be part of a mafia. Her training as well as her capability to use a gun is pretty mind-blowing for Edward! Oh, and did I mention that this story has some really good smut?! A perfect mix that you should not miss out on - so go and read it asap!

Mafia Princess consists of 32 chapters and a total of 122,865 words. The story is only missing an epilogue, but is otherwise complete. It is rated M for language and lemons.

In a society where some people have what's known as an imprinting gene - a genetic indicator of who you're meant to be with - and some don't, it's rare to find those who resist the pull. Bella Swan is one of those few; after her mother broke the imprint with her father to be with another man, and her boyfriend left her for his own imprint, she became more than reluctant to follow through with the imprinting idea. Though most people are happy or content with their imprints, she doesn't want to risk getting hurt like her father, and losing her hard-earned independence. Unfortunately for her, she imprints on a man without realizing it - and it appears as though the man she imprints on also carries the gene. Her first instinct is to run away from him but he's determined to know her and will go through any means to do so. As his desire to pursue a relationship rises, she fights harder to get away from him. Well, until the pain from resisting becomes too much and she gives in - hoping for some comfort. As Edward takes the time to prove that he doesn't want to make her dependent on him and just wants her to be a part of his life, Bella slowly lets her walls down and opens herself to the possibility of love. Can she put her negative feelings aside long enough to let Edward all the way in, before losing him?

The Imprint is one of those stories you can't stop reading until it's over - at least that was the case with me. It has been on my to-be-read list for over two years before I finally got the chance to read it. It was well worth the wait; I was not disappointed in the least. This is not a story where B&E are in love by the first few chapters; though their connection is almost instant, this is a slow burn - one where their relationship is basically non-existent for a while before we get to the fluffier part of the story. As of late, I've been on a binge for reading stronger Bellas, and I love how Kat097 portrayed Bella; a strong, independent woman who doesn't want to depend on a man for anything - imprint or not - and refuses to be anything less than what she wants to be. The Imprint isn't a story for everyone - there's nothing traumatizing about this story, as I know there are readers who don't like more science fiction oriented fics - but it's well worth the read. I've enjoyed every minute of it, and I hope other readers do too.

The Imprint consists of 30 chapters and 48,495 words. The story is rated M for mild sexual content and foul language.

"In Plain Sight" by Dishie 3

(banner by Bethany)

At the tender age of 12, Bella Swan lost both her parents as well as her eye-sight in a tragic car accident. Now 24, the young lady has learned around her ways and lives contently with her German Shepherd and best companion, Conrad, by her side. She is a one-of-a-kind woman who doesn't complain about her loss of sight much, and instead is proud of her personality. Unfortunately though, that didn't mean she let a lot of people close to her, especially men who were often judgmental. But she has a secret crush on the very famous Dr. Edward Cullen, who steps into the very same café that she is in, for his morning espresso. His strong, manly scent always made Bella wish she could see him. Well, lucky and unknown to her, Edward too had been noticing this all too familiar woman sitting in a corner of the café with her dog every morning. It isn't very long before he finally decides to man up and approach her, wanting to know her more. It was no surprise to him that she was blind - her helper dog being one of his hints, but he also specialized in eye surgeries for the blind, so he knew what he was looking out for. Will the two be able to hit it off and be in a relationship? Is it possible for Bella to regain her eyesight back with the help of Edward?

Let me start off by saying that this story is not as angsty as you would think. In contrast, it is a perfect mix of fluff, romance, and some drama that will keep your eyes on the story. So don't be hesitant to read this wonderful fanfiction. As a matter of fact, Dishie plans on pulling this story from fanfiction.net on September 1st, so get your hands on it now before it is too late! You will find yourself loving Doctorward in this particular story - don't we all? - as he maneuvers his way around different types of surgeries and as he gets the guts to finally ask Bella out. We realize from the very beginning that both have the hots for each other, so it's just a matter of some patience on our part before we see exactly that unraveling before our eyes. I was also very fond of Bella in this story, particularly because Dishie made her a strong character despite her blindness - and that is exactly how it should be. No matter what, Bella always had a smile upon her face and she even held a successful career as a vocalist for audio books. Join Edward and Bella, and lovely Conrad, on this beautiful journey of love! Read it before it's too late - remember, by September 1st!

In Plain Sight consists of 35 chapters and a total of 237,813 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual content.

"Nineteen Canvasses" by Cars1 4

(banner by Jaime)

Bella thinks she finally has it all together after a life altering accident, but when she meets Edward, a once successful artist who has lost his inspiration, everything she thought she knew changes.

During an unfortunate skiing accident, Bella lost one of her legs from the knee down and is now forever stuck with a prosthetic leg. Her dreams seems to be crushed and she finds herself to be a hopeless match for any/all men out there. But despite the circumstances, she is a confident brunette that does not use her leg as an excuse to not accomplish anything. When her brother Emmett sets her up with yet another blind date, she is fully sure of getting home alone - as usual. Though true, what she didn't expect that night was to dream about her mystery date, Edward. With his piercing green eyes and sexy crooked smile, she almost melted at the spot. Unable to have any further conversation, she had left her "date" after ten minutes of talking, adamant that a broken girl like her was not meant for a perfect man like him. But she didn't know that he was hiding some of his own demons...

After witnessing that his soon-to-be fiancé is banging another dude in his bed, Edward went haywire. He was quick to end their relationship and wanted to move on with his life - that is, if he could. With more than enough drama going on in his life, his career came to a temporary halt. As a famous painter, Edward had earned millions from the paintings he sold. But now, it seemed as though he wasn't having an inspiration to create new ones. He starts losing control and having a string of one night stands. So when he meets Bella through his friend Emmett on a blind date at a bar, he doesn't expect to feel so intrigued about the brown-eyed beauty; her deep brown eyes captivates him and he wants to know the story behind the sadness. And instantly, inspiration hits... But are her walls that easy to break? Are his?

Nineteen Canvasses is a beautiful story that portrays how love can really change a couple's life. In this case, our Edward and Bella saved each other through their love. They both have skeletons in their closets, Bella's are a lot more physical than Edward's emotional ones, but nonetheless they are there. And Cars1 manages to make these two characters connect. From the very first moment they lay eyes on each other, they feel something deep within them and instantly, the readers know that they are good for each other. But with so many invisible walls around them, will they be able to see that just as clearly as we do? It takes a while, but let me tell you that you won't be disappointed with the way the story is going. Every chapter has a slight turn that will keep you hanging to this roller coaster - and you will find out exactly why the title of this story is 'Nineteen Canvasses'. So don't wait too long to delve into this ride!

Nineteen Canvasses consists of 33 chapters and a total of 156,753 words. The story is rated M for language and lemons.

"Snapshots" by LyricalKris 3

All it took was one envelope to turn both Edward and Bella's happily married life upside-down. Three years ago, she thought she loved Edward's brother Jasper. But when an unfortunate car accident occured, things started going downhill. You see, Jasper was a drug addict and although things appeared to be looking up with  Bella and their baby - whom he care for very much - the accident caused him to believe that their baby had not survived. Grief stricken and filled with pain, Jasper drowned back in drugs and left his family. It is then that Edward becomes Bella's rock, and supports her with her daughter as well as her emotions. It's Edward who manages to patch Bella up, and as the years go by, Bella realizes the meaning of true love - one that she had only for Edward. Yes, the baby is Jasper's by blood, but Edward had been more of a father to her than Jasper ever was. Now when everything was finally starting to balance out, this envelope seemed to be toppling things over once more. Will Bella give Jasper another chance and allow him to explain himself?

Snapshots is yet another wonderfully written fanfiction by LyricalKris. As all her stories are, this one will also bring out the emotions in you. What I really loved about this story was Edward's supporting character - he is the perfect husband and father, and the degree to which he loves his family is staggering. I will admit, it is hard to read about Jasper loving Bella, especially if you are a hard-core E/B fan, but trust me that this fanfiction's twist only adds to the fascination of the plot. The best part that pulls you into the fanfiction is Jasper's character. You have to understand that he is a man that has an unfortunate disease and although he made poor decisions in light of that, he loved his family very much. So don't dislike him! The character development is huge in Jasper and you can't help but feel for him too. Don't hesitate to delve into this amazing story just because Jasper plays a bug part; you will be surprised as to how much you love it! This is a fantastic story about brotherly love, forgiveness, redemption, and self-healing. Please do give it a try!

Snapshots consists of 25 chapters and a total of 92,211 words. The story is  E/B and rated M for language and sexual content.

"Fame" by BlueIsSoul 0

Edward and Bella have been childhood sweethearts up until now. They though they had their future plans laid out before them, which eventually included marriage and even kids. And when Edward finally gets a big break in a movie, the two jump at the opportunity to send him to LA, where he can shoot the film and achieve their dreams. What neither, especially Bella, didn't account for was fame - something that Edward got lost in after his movie. When he came back to Bella, gone was the once sweet and caring Edward. Before her stood an arrogant a** who was doing nothing but showing off his pride over the fame he got doing one movie. She didn't realize when and how their dreams became just his, and when she was faded away from his future plans. Will she be able to bring Edward back to his original self or will it take something else for him to re-open his eyes?

Fame is a wonderfully written story and is depicted very realistically. I bet there are so many actors out today that have gone astray with the glory of fame in their face, and BlueisSoul really makes that come live in the form of our favorite Twilight characters. I will admit, there are times in the story when you dislike the Edward that comes back after the movie, because his pride has gone way beyond the norm, making him seem extremely arrogant. But deep down, we all know that the Edward Bella loves is somewhere in there, just lost in all the camera lights. The journey of Edward falling and realizing that without his true love by his side, his life is really incomplete, is phenomenal and there is no doubt that you will fall in love with this story just as much as I have. A little bit of patience is required in this fanfic as you see Edward's transformation from a dreamy boyfriend, to an arrogant actor, and finally a perfect combination of the two. But the story is definitely a HEA and you should give it a shot!

Fame consists of 23 chapters and a total of 62,266 words. The story is rated M for language and some sexual content.

"This Thing of Ours" by WeeKittyAndTAT 5

(banner made by time_lights)

Edward Masen owns the entire mafia business, taking the ownership after his grandfather since his father wanted to pursue a career as a doctor. Besides doing what has been in his blood for centuries now, Edward also has a public persona of a rich businessman; he owns factories of specialized weaponry - ironically. But most of all, his role as a father is what makes him him. Edward is the father of two twins Cassie and Cullen, who - though conceived by insemination - are the dearest people he holds to his heart. He is turning thirty-two soon and although he is more than content with everything that he has accomplished in his time, he can't help but feel sad about going to his bed alone at night. Everyone around him seems to have their perfect love to spend the rest of their lives with, except for him, who always seems to encounter women who want him for either his looks or his money. Bella, on the other hand, is a mysterious identity whose last name remains an enigma as the story progresses.  The two of them meet during an unfortunate, but small, accident and instantly the chemistry is charging. She is one woman who can be tough as nails on Edward, talk back at him, and care for his children like no other. Will Edward finally be able to find his true love in Bella? Or will her true identity make everything come down crashing?

This Thing of Ours is a beautiful story that combines the love of family as well as the tough reality of being in the mafia all the at the same time. One thing I absolutely love in the fic is Edward's character, who is firm in his job aspects but sweet as a sugar treat when it comes to his children. The reader quickly comes to realize that he yearns for someone to love him the way his mother does his father, or the way his best friends do with their significant others. The fact that his life is so full in terms of all of his accomplishments, yet so empty when it comes to sharing his bed with someone he can love is so heart-felt. Bella, on the other hand, is simply put - a mystery. From the very beginning of the story, we see her as a strong persona - ones that does not reveal even her full name to the people around her. Her ID states that she is twenty-one, but is she really? Meeting Edward and his children compel her to spill everything before him, but can she trust him? This story is really mind-blowing in every aspect and the authors WeeKittyAndTAT have done a really good job portraying what is going through both of their minds through alternating point of views between the characters. Don't miss this one!!

This Thing of Ours consists of 40 chapters and a total of 136,260 words (more on TWCF and FP because they are not as constricted as the fanfiction). The story is rated M for language and sexual activities.

"Plight Thee My Troth" by gingerandgreen 0

(banner made by Jaime)

England, 1795. Lord Edward Masen and Miss Isabella Swan are getting ready to exchange their marriage vows with each other, excited to be finally bound to their other halves. The first chapter of the story covers their martial ritual and the chapters that follow go back in time so the readers get a glimpse with regards to their first meeting and how the wedding came about in the first place. When he firsts sets out from his castle at Seat to Forbrigg in order to meet up with his cousin Emanuel, he does not expect to find a brunette lady that he will come to fall in love with. Their initial meetings are very pleasant and they both find each others company extremely valuable. It isn't long before they decide to tie the knot with Bella's father, Charlie's blessings. But Edward can't but notice that there is something he is missing with the way Charlie is behaving, as if he has an underlying purpose behind everything that he is doing. The story then comes back to present time continues on with the newly married couple's lives. Will the forces outside their bubble allow the two of them to fulfill their vows? What does Charlie want? Will they be able to continue their love story with peace?

Plight Thee My Troth  is an amazing historical story that will capture your heart instantly. Royalward is something we all fangirl over, let's admit it, and this Edward will fulfill that fantasy! He is the epitome of patient and his soft, velvet voice is so sexy that it will bring you to your knees. The chemistry between our two lovebirds is palpable, and gingerandgreen creates a very realistic plot around them, especially in the given time period. What I absolutely love about this fic is that the love between Edward and Bella is what, ultimately, allows the two of them to fight through the hurdles they are faced with. You may come to dislike a few characters in the story, especially Jacob and Charlie, but as the story progresses you come to realize the reason behind each of them. This story is pretty well-known out there in the fandom, but definitely not enough! There is a good mix of fluff, romance, and drama, which makes the story whole. So go and give this fic a read, I promise it won't disappoint!

Plight Thee My Troth consists of 29 chapters and a total of 160,023 words. The story is rated M for some language and sexual content.

"In Love With A Stranger" by savannavansmutsmut 0

Bella Swan has a problem not many people would understand. She has no memory of anything between her college graduation and waking up in a hospital bed after being in a coma for six months - pregnant and alone. Her nurse, Rosalie, is like an angel sent straight from heaven. She is the one who helps her get settled in New York City and takes a aunty figure to Bella's daughter, Elizabeth. To Bella, Elizabeth is nothing short of the immaculate conception as she has no memory of her daughter's father. Before she know it, seven years have gone by and she's running a successful bookstore owner. Though she has yet to regain her memory, she has vivid dreams of certain situations - whether she's in the throes of passion or saying goodbye to a man whose face she can't see. She could never see his face in her dreams. All she could gather about the "mystery" man is that he seems to be very physically attractive and has a British accent.

Bella doesn't have an interest in men - she focuses on running her business and providing for her daughter. That is, until she goes on a business trip with Jasper to London. There she meets Mr. Edward Cullen - an incredibly powerful and handsome man - and he has her all out of whack. Bella is taken aback by how strong a pull she feels towards this man. As she spends more time with Jasper's business associate, glimpses of her memory start coming back. It doesn't take long for her to realize he's the man from her dreams - the man she'd been head over heels in love with before her attack. At first, Edward refuses to believe the story about her attack, but he comes to realize there's no way she would have left him back then. Together, they work on rebuilding their romantic relationship and building a relationship with his daughter. Will they be able to handle the people working against them?

In Love With A Stranger is a very complicated story - and I don't mean that in a bad way. This story is highly emotional and there are moments throughout the story where the characters will make you want to pull your hair out, laugh, and cry all at the same time. I know I felt that way, anyway. It's heart wrenching to read what Bella went through and see how far parents will go to do what they think is best for their child, regardless of the consequences. From a personal standpoint, I can't help but hate both Bella and Edward's parents. But seeing how Alice and Edward can push all of the b.s. aside and come together as siblings to follow what they really want to do is nothing short of amazing. In Love With A Stranger is told from both B and E's points of view, so we're allowed a glimpse into their thoughts and personal experiences. It's truly a beautifully written story and I'd recommend it to everyone.

In Love With A Stranger is complete. It consists of 35 chapters and 94,933 words. It's rated M for foul language.
