"Cullen Swan: Matchmakers" by Ms. Jessica Cullen (guest review by Erica) 0

For high school students, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen have rather bizarre, yet interesting personalities. While Bella has a dirty little secret that she keeps in her pocket, Edward is addicted to reading porn and has a new candy on his arm every day. The two don't exactly get along well and simply ignore the sexual tension between them; even though it is almost palpable. It is when Edward tries to get rid of one his fuck-buddies that he and Bella cross paths and their life changes forever. He sets the girl, whom he lost interest in, up with a guy who once hit on Bella - because despite the fact that he can't stand her sight, Edward doesn't like it at all to see her with another guy. Unfortunately, his plan turns out to be a complete failure as Bella finds out about it. Though she is upset at him for kind of interfering with her life, she also realizes that Edward and her might probably be really good at playing matchmaker. So the two form some sort of truce and decide to try and set pretty much everyone at Forks High up before the spring dance. As they both begin finding out which friend would be good for another, they are surprised to notice that they themselves remain single. But if they are honest with each other, there is only one person that would be their perfect match...

Mrs Jessica Cullen has created a wonderful story with a unique plot line! Though it might sound strange in the beginning, let me tell you that the complete opposite is true! If you have just read an angst-ladden fic or are in need of a good story after a hard day at work, Cullen Swan: Matchmaker is it for you! The couples' sexcapades are filled with hidden romance and lots of humor and it is very amusing to read how the two slowly start to realize that they feel more for each other than just friendship. So when they finally do get together, you will most likely be jumping up and down from joy. But back to the humor: sometimes, you won't be able to keep from laughing at the interesting and rather unique way the characters of this story are portrayed. There is Edward's father, Carlisle, for example, who tries to help his son getting laid! I finished Cullen Swan: Matchmaker about a week ago and really enjoyed getting lost into a fanfic without too much tension and angst. Go ahead and give it a read!

"Breaking the Abusive Silence" by Ms. Jessica Cullen 0

I had nothing else to do but focus on the pain that was coursing through my body.
Tomorrow would be better, I tried to convince myself, I mean, school wasn't as bad as this was.

Bella Swan experiences high school as a social outcast. Each and every day is an immense struggle as she is constantly made the butt of everybody’s jokes. But what the town doesn’t know is that, behind closed doors, Bella is also an outcast in her own home. Because hidden beneath long sleeved blouses and heavy makeup is a collage of deep coloured bruises and cuts, all curtesy of her alcoholic father Charlie.

But Bella is strong. She accepts that her situation is what it is and deals with it the best she can (e.g. by reading her favorite books). Yet one day, fate means well with the high school girl and sends her help at a time when she wasn't even looking for some and in a form that she would never have expected: Edward Cullen, popular Forks High quarterback, model student (he has a 4.0 GPA), and Bella's long-time tormenter. While he used to make the school laugh at Bella's expense, he suddenly seems to have some kind of interest in her and her situation. And when he sees the bruises covering her body, he realizes that this mousey girl is going through so much more than just school bullying.

If any of you have ever read any of Ms. Jessica Cullen's smut-filled one shots or one of her multi-chapter stories, you will know that her writing draws you in from the very first paragraph. Breaking The Abusive Silence is absolutely no exception to that, with story twists that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and make you read for hours on end. And the fact that the author chose to tell her story mostly from Bella's POV makes reading it so much more intense. That said, please be aware that this fanfiction contains mature themes like domestic violence and lemons. It's angsty and definitely nothing for the faint-hearted!

Breaking the Abusive Silence consists of 31 chapters and 107,029 words. The story is rated MA for domestic violence, lemons, and profanities.
