"Masen Days" by purelyamuse 0

Posted by
(banner made by Mina)

He seemed to be a pro in his world, skating on his beautiful masterpiece of a skateboard and with his messy, sweat-filled bronze hair. Bella's classes were just over and she had trolled along with her best friend Angela to wait with her for her boyfriend, Ben, finish his skateboarding routine. But she couldn't pull her eyes away from this other, tall and lean man that had a black choker on his neck that made him seem even more sexier than he was. And his skating seemed to be the best among the people he was around, even every fall seemed choreographed. She had noticed him a couple of times in her poetry class, always doodling one beautiful thing or another. But today was the first time she was standing right in front of him and having a conversation with him, or least as much as time would allow anyway... He seemed to be extremely shy, and walked away if things got quiet for more than a few seconds. But when Bella suggested he walk her home that day after his skateboarding session was over, she realized that she was already smitten with this boy who had obviously gone through some things, who wrote lovely poetry, had sea-green eyes, and drew masterpieces. Will he be able to fall in love with her too or continue to walk away?

Masen Days is a story that will remind you of the loveliest of love stories out there!! Edward's character is pretty withdrawn within the fanfiction for his own reasons, and you will find yourself melting when he starts opening up with Bella. From his nerdy poetic quirks to his amazing talents in every way imaginable will want you eager to meet him in real life and be there with him when his mood is down. The story develops pretty quickly, considering it is not a huge fanfiction to start with, but this will only have you wanting to read it over and over again! purelyamuse creates a beautiful plotline with the right amount of hurt/comfort and romance all tied into a masterpiece free of grammatical errors, if any. Although it is told entirely from Bella's point of view, there is nothing that we miss on Edward's end as the story unravels and we find out why he stays so secluded. So don't hesitate and go read this story now, it's definitely a MUST!

Masen Days consists of 19 chapters and a total of 66,922 words. The story is rated M for language and content.

"How To Tame A Player" by mystique-jewled 2

(banner made by Bethany)

When sassy nerd meets confident player, sparks will fly. The question is, will these sparks make things more interesting, or simply leave them both burnt and hurting? At Mason University, anything is possible. Bella Swan, still recovering from a turbulent past, refuses to become the local playboy’s latest plaything. Edward Cullen, with demons of his own, doesn’t understand why he can’t get the snarky brunette out of his mind. Thus, ensues a game of cat and mouse that leaves both doubting everything they knew. Can an attraction as great as there’s really be denied?

Unsure of herself to the point where it impedes her ability to live and trust normally, Bella knows that the last thing she needs, is someone as unpredictable as Edward Cullen in her life. She just can’t understand why his antics and his crooked grin have her coming back. Bella desperately wants to know why she misses their interactions when she’s not with him. She wishes he would tell her why he spends so much of his time chasing her when all she sees herself as, is flawed. Will the charming player be able to win her trust? Or will he just be the last straw on her path to self-destruction?

How To Tame A Player has me completely hooked. I can’t recommend this story enough. The interactions between Edward and Bella aren’t just interesting, they’re endearing. Bella knows just how to handle herself against ‘the big, bad player’ and Edward just seems to want to spend time with her and her sarcasm. Though their personalities are miles apart, something about the two of them together just seems to fit. They both have troubled pasts, adding a perfect amount of angst to sink your teeth into. The writing is superb, the dialogue excellent, and the plot intriguing. On top of that, it has consistent updates on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All in all, this is a story that definitely deserves to be read and reviewed. I really can’t describe properly just how much this story makes my Wednesdays and Saturdays. A DEFINITE MUST-READ!

So far, How To Tame A Player consists of 26 chapters and 60,447 words. It is rated M for language and (future) sexy times.

"California Dreamin'" by chocaholic123 1

Posted by Anonymous

The year is 1967 and the heat is blistering in the small town of Wentworth, CA. Bella Swan and her best friend Angela have just graduated from High School and enjoy their last summer before starting college. They spend their time hanging out at the lake, listening to The Beattles and Sergeant Pepper, and gossiping about Jessica Stanley's unexpected pregnancy. They are also very much involved in the anti-Vietnam-war-protests, which makes them go on a daytrip to San Francisco, where Angela wants to listen to a speech held by one of Martin Luther King's staff. The girls are joined by four friends: Angela's boyfriend Ben and his three buddies Eric, Tyler, and Edward. Due to the limited space in the car, Bella spends the whole journey to Frisco on Edward's lap and feels strongly attracted to him...

Edward is a pre-med student, who is supposed to follow the footsteps of his father, congressman Carlise Cullen, and his brother Emmett, even though he has no interest in politics whatsoever. He has also been drafted to go to Vietnam and will leave town soon to start basic training. Falling in love with a lovely girl was the last thing he intended to do, but it happens nonetheless. He enjoys every minute he spends with Bella on their trip and stays in contact with her once they get back home. The two become a couple and Bella loses her virginity to Edward - just a day before he leaves for training. With promises to come back to her, Edward starts his journey that is the Vietnam war and, surrounded by bombs, blood, and death, loses himself and what he thought he had...

This story is both incredibly wonderful and heart-breaking. Edward and Bella fall quick and hard and when the time comes to say goodbye, the reader is just as devastated as they are. Edward starts writing her sweet yet also horrible letters; describing how much he misses her and her warmth and telling her about the horrors of war. I have to admit, I had a few tears in my eyes when I finished each letter, which were written with immense honesty and love. After leaving Bella to receive training, the two meet two more times, each and every time Edward comes back more broken than before. The war in Vietnam, a war that he never believed in in the first place, is taking its toll on him and Bella isn't only one "thing" he uses to ease the pain. It's incredibly sad to see him fall apart like that, becoming a shell of the charming young man he once was. Yet despite it being an angsty story, it DOES have a happy ending. An ending that leaves you dreaming about their wonderful future together! The story is completely written from Bella's POV and Jasper, Alice, Rose, and Emmett are not mentioned at all or play just very small roles. Read it, it's worth it!

California Dreamin' consists of 23 chapters and 93,809 words. The story is rated MA for profanities, angst, drug use, and lemons.

"Second to None" by AngryBadgerGirl 0

(banner made by Bethany)

Bespectacled, geeky Bella Swan is in a bit of a rut. A sophomore at Dartmouth with two great friends by her side, she has everything going for her... well, except for her love life. Of course, that is until she attends her first Biology class and is caught staring at sexy tattoo of the extremely attractive TA. Despite encouragement from her friends, Bella chooses to stay away from him because she is sure that he is clearly out of her league. However, she can't seem to stop thinking about the handsome man with eyes the color of green M&Ms. When she gets her first quiz back - with an aweful grade - Edward, the TA, offers to help her. The two meet week after week and as time goes on, Bella cannot help but eagerly for Tuesday to come around so she can meet Edward at four and spend some time with him. And despite her improving grades, they continue to meet but will that continue once their class is over? Bella surely hopes not, with overeager and perverted Mike Newton as the only other love interest waiting at her door. Yet the fact remains that Edward and her major in two completely different fields, so how will they be able to keep in contact?

AngryBadgerGirl is known for her flawless writing. Not only is she very popular for her wonderful style but her stories are also loved for their immense realism. I can assure you, she earns each and every praise she gets and Second to None is anothe proof of that. It's quite apparent that she has a very clear idea in her head of what her characters should look like and she seems to know exactly how to transfer these ideas to the paper. It's a talent that few people can ever master completely. AngryBadgerGirl does this with ease, however. Second to None is a tiny bit heavy in a few places, but it's nothing that isn't resolved in the next few paragraphs. Most of the heaviness comes from Bella's insecurities. Still, Second to None is one of my all-time favorite one-shots. I cannot praise this enough. It's a sweet, endearing tale about two lab nerds finding each other beneath layers of superficiality. If you haven't given it a try, you should definitely put it on your 'to-read' list.

Second to None is a one-shot and consists of 10,376 words. This story is rated MA for sweet lemons, language, and brief sexual assault (no rape).

"Static" by AnaG 0

Posted by Anonymous
(banner made by Mina)

From an early age, Bella Swan knew what she wanted to do with her life - becoming a doctor - and nothing was going to keep her from achieving her goal, especially not a man. With her parents filing for divorce when she was only three months old, Bella has long lost all faith and hope in love. For her, it is nothing but a distraction, a horrible and useless emotion that will eventually cause immense heart-break and pain. So when the 22-year-old begins her freshman year at Dartmouth, she is determined to live a static life, only focusing on her studies. The only bright spot in that life is her best friend Alice, who is the complete opposite of Bella: full of energy and willing to live life to the fullest. More than once, she tries to convince Bella that her beliefs and ideas are wrong and will only make her end up lonely and sad but the young brunette doesn't want to hear any of it and completely immerses herself into her studies...

Being the good student that she is, Bella arrives early to one of her many classes and is surprised to find she is not alone. A good-looking young man sits a few rows down from her and later introduces himself as Edward Cullen. Because of their early appearance, their professor choses them both as his new assistants, asking them to prepare notes and PowerPoint presentations for his lectures. While working together, Bella notices how attracted she is to Edward and how charming and friendly he is - nothing like what she expected a man to be. They seem to be on the same page and get along very well. Yet Bella's inhibitions about relationships and men keep her from letting Edward get close. Fighting with the conflicting feelings within her, she keeps the handsome man at arm's length and though he is more than willing to wait for her, his patience has limits...

Static mainly focuses on the relationship between Edward and Bella as well as Bella's inner struggle with her self-made belief system. However, a good part of the story also deals with Alice and her problem with partying too much, Jasper and his role as a psychiatrist and mentor, and, last but not least, Emmett and Rosalie's plans of starting a family. In fact, there are whole chapters where Edward doesn't appear once, which also explains why the story is completely written from Bella's point of view. Though that can be slighly frustrating at times, those parts that focus on the minor characters are not less interesting than those dealing with our favorite couple. As a matter of fact, all of them force Bella to constantly adjust her theory about the static until she eventually has to drop it altogether. That, on the other hand, is important for her relationship with Edward, who has a hard time getting her to trust him. About two-thirds into the fic, some drama kicks in and it won't be resolved until the last chapter. Notwithstanding, AnaG presents you with a satisfying HEA that more than works for the characters. If you want a story that is closer to a novel than a fanfiction, Static is the one for you!

Static consists of 41 chapters and a total of 105,084 words. The story is rated M for foul language, some angst, and description of sexual activities.

"Caught Looking" by Marvar 0

Posted by Anonymous
(banner made by Jaime)

Over the years, Bella Swan has developed a very grumpy attitude towards the world and especially towards baseball players. The reason for that lies in her less-than-spectacular childhood: first, her mother left her husband Charlie to run off with baseball player Phil Dwyer, then Renee dies in a car crash that said baseball player caused because he was driving under the influence of alcohol, then the di** of a sportsman signs away the parental rights to his son Seth - leaving him in Bella's care, and finally, Bella and her half-brother are kicked out of their home by Charlie, who doesn't want anything to do with the "bastard child". As all of it started with an a**hole of a baseball player, Bella is determined to never trust one of them again. Ever.

So, while carefully avoiding anyone playing for her college baseball team, the Arizona Wildcats, Bella indulges in her love for science, more specifically chemistry. Together with her geeky friend Jasper (who is a die-hard fan of Harry Potter and works on developing an invisibility cloak, among other things) she works at the office of her Chemistry professor Dr. Banner, answering the phone and doing research for her MA thesis. One day, a man with an enticingly charming and sexy voice calls the office, asking for Jasper. And even though Bella passes on his messages, Jasper never returns the calls, causing the mysterious man to pay a visit. The moment Bella lays eyes on the handsome man before her, her ovaries explode and fuzzy feelings take over her body. Edward Cullen is gorgeous, charming, polite, smart, and sweet - everything she is looking for in a man. If it wasn't for one thing: he plays for the Wildcats...

H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S! That's Caught Looking in a nutshell! Marvar did an amazing job in creating characters who are both indredibly smart and so funny they will have you in hysterics! Especially Jasper and Alice will leave no eye dry. With his obsession with everything Harry Potter-related, his crazy T-shirts, and even crazier apps, he is the ultimate geek. It takes a small make-over and the right girl before someone can... *cough*... ride his broom... which would be Alice. The latter is full of sexual innuendoes and, as a law student, prepares contracts for everything and everyone. Among other things, she comes up with a sexual contract for Jasper and a friendship contract for Bella. The Edward in this story - which is, except for one chapter, completely written from BPOV - is amazingly sweet and willing to fight for Bella. Even though she refuses his advances in the beginning, a few adorable love notes allow him access to her heart... and body. These two are insatiable and can't keep their hands off each other. Even though the epilogue is missing, the story comes to a more or less satisfying ending. Go ahead and read it for yourselves, you won't regret it!

Caught Looking consists of 26 chapters and a total of 45,967 words. The story is rated MA for foul language and graphic lemons.

"Failure to Thrive" by Julesnerd 0

Posted by Anonymous

Edward Masen and Isabella Swans couldn't have met at weirder moment in time, much less at a weirder place. Because instead of running into each other at a coffee bar or at the university, the two meet at the practice of Carlisle Cullen and Emmett McCarthy, two sexual therapists. While Bella is there to talk with Emmett about her unfortunate past with men and to work on her (non-existing) ability to get aroused, Edward regular sees his father Carlisle to get a grip on his sexual insatiability as well as to find a way to not ejaculate prematurely. When the two meet in the waiting room, Edward asks the wonderful and witty brunette to grab a cup of coffee with him and because Emmett (who is also Edward's adoptive brother) told her to be more open to new experiences, Bella says yes. It doesn't take long for her to notice that she feels safer with Edward than with any other men she's interacted with lately and connects with him over their mutual sexual problems. The two banter back and forth while spending the afternoon together and when they sit down on an old bench, they come to an unusual agreement...

The two students are determined to help each other overcome their sexual inadequacies. While Edward will try to introduce Bella to the arts of love-making (pretty much everything from kissing to actual sex), Bella is willing to help Edward deal with his insatiability and train certain methods that could help him with his ejaculation problem. The two of them meet on a regular basis and go through important milestones together. Whenever they are not busy making out, however, they spend hours getting to know each other better, enjoying to banter back and forth about the most ridiculous things, sometimes joint by their sweet and supportive, yet slightly crazy friends. And so, naturally, what was meant to be a simple deal, soon turns out to be so much more. Edward and Bella develop real feelings for each other that they can't hold back and both plan to act on it.

Failure to Thrive can be described as the following: extremely funny and incredibly hot! When I read the summary for the story, I expected a fanfiction full of darknes and and lots mature themes - yet the moment I read the first few paragraphs, I knew that I was in for the exact opposite. Even though the first chapter is somewhat written from a third-person perspective (somewhat because Julesnerd jumps to a first-person perspective every once in a while) the rest of the story is written from either Edward's or Bella's POV. Don't let this small error in continuity keep you from reading the fic because you'd miss out on so much! First and foremost, wonderful graphic lemons and an awefully cute Edward, but also the hilarious bickering that is going on between our lovely couple (and whenever Emmett or Alice come into play, I promise that no eyes will remain dry). There is absolutely no angst in this story and virtually no drama. This is pure fluff, humor, and lots of delicious lemons - these two really make sure to explore each other's bodies (and their own) to the max! Enjoy!

Failure to Thrive consists of 27 chapters and a total of 195,999 words. The story is rated MA for graphic description of sexual activities, minor references to sexual abuse, and profanities. If you are under the age of 18, I'll advise you not to read the fanfiction!

"Graduate Bitterness" by RMacaroni 0

Posted by Anonymous

Ph.D. candidate Edward Cullen is more than pissed when he gets an email from his boss Aro Volturi, who asks him to be the mentor for a promising undergrad student. Isabella Swan is a junior majoring in microbiology and would like to do some research in the related field. A few weeks of working at the Volturi lab would definitely help her a lot in her studies. Unfortunately, Edward couldn't care less about ambitious Isabella, whose name he can't even memorize. The smart and uttely handsome grad student is incredibly rude to Bella and makes fun of her for her clumsiness, her tendency to stutter, and her ridiculously looking lab coat (or la-la-lab coat as he calls it due to Bella's stuttering). Though "the undergrad" as he calls her seems to do a good job and is keeping a detailed journal, Edward cannot help but feel bothered by her. All he wants is to focus on his cancer research and get his degree; he's spent far too long in the lab and feels like he lost too much while doing so. His undergrad is an annoying distraction from his work and Edward can't wait for the moment when her time in the lab is over. Still, he doesn't like the fact that James Wand, fellow grad student from another department, seems to have taken an interest in the petite brunette, stirring up strange feelings of jealousy in Edward. However, it isn't until one of the pranks he plays on her goes wrong that the twenty-six-year old finally sees what has been right in front of him for so long...

Graduate Bitterness is immensely funny and a very quick read. In fact, I enjoyed the fanfic so much that I had to literally force myself to shut off my kindle when the clock on the wall said 2.30am. RMacaroni's story will have you hooked from the very first sentence and you won't be able to stop reading until you reach the ending. The characters in the this story are sweet yet slightly OOC. Especially Edward, who is presented as immensely arrogant and rude, might take some getting used to in the beginning. The story is entirely written from his POV, which means that you'll get an uncensored insight into his (not-so-nice) thoughts. You figure out pretty quickly that the passion he once felt for his studies and lab work is long gone and has been substituted by a bitterness he himself doesn't even notice. Yet others do (especially his friends Emmett, Rose, and his cousin Alice) but it isn't until Bella walks into his life that he begins to change - even if it takes a while. The fanfic is peppered with funny moments, my personal favorite being the car ride when Edward starts singing. The lemons are tastefully written but not too graphic. This is a wonderful fanfiction that will have you utterly addicted!

Graduate Bitterness consists of 60 chapters and 52,484 words. The story is rated M for lemons and profanities.

"Summer of Salt" by lola-pops 3

Posted by Anonymous

Every year, 19-year old Bella Swan and her cousins, the twins Rosalie and Jasper Hale, spend the summer at the log cabins their parents own in Northern California. For almost three months, the three do nothing but sleep, drink, take swims in the lake, and hang out. This year, however, they are joined by three people who will changes their lives forever. First, Charlie Swan informs Bella that Alice Brandon, the daughter of a good business partner, will stay with them for a couple of weeks. Alice has been massively abused by her former boyfriend and needs some time out. Though shy and very introverted, the moment she meets Jasper, the petite woman starts to live again. And just as taken as Jasper is with the little pixie, Bella and Rose are the minute they run into Edward and Emmett Cullen; or rather, the minute the guys run into them. Without asking if it's okay, the two handsome young man just join the group that has gathered around a nice bonfire and take part in the conversation. Bella is immensely attracted to the star quarterback at Texas A&M, who simply looks delicious in the black wife beater he's wearing. And even though Edward cannot seem to take his eyes off the beautiful brunette, he tells her rather rudely that she is not his type. What Bella doesn't know is that he outright lied to her...

Because Bella Swan is SO Edward's type; in fact, he is so mesmerized by her that he can hardly keep himself from having his wicked way with her. But what Edward realizes pretty quickly is that Bella is not like the other girls he usually likes to spend his time with. Because as a notorious womanizer, the young quarterback loves a one-night stand here and there and hardly ever keeps a girl longer than for a few days. He rarely remembers the names of his latest conquests and couldn't care less about his feelings. With Bella, however, Edward wants more and he knows she feels the same. Bella is the kind of girl who deserves nothing short of a relationship, yet the problem is that Edward cannot give her one, at least that's what he tells himself. But he also cannot keep his distance from her any longer, so the inevitable happens and the two start "fooling around" for the next couple of weeks. Bella is on cloud nine but receives the shock of her life when Tanya walks in, kisses Edward, and happily shares her sexual encounters with him...

Though Summer of Salt is fun to read and will have you smirk more often than not, there are also many moments which will give you a sick feeling in your stomach. Edward is a womanizer and even Bella cannot change that over night - though she comes pretty close. He is fooling around with other girls, despite his feelings for the brunette he left behind in California, and though you don't actually read about these encounters (well, not much at least), they still kind of hurt and one can relate to how Bella must feel. The story is written from both characters' POV but with slighty more chapters from Bella's perspective. The lemons are nicely written but not overly graphic as the heart of the story really isn't sex but the group of six, their chemistry, and friendship. All of them are really funny and never leave out an opportunity to make a joke. You will probably shed some tears while reading this fic, some from laughing, some from sadness. But you will definitely enjoy it anyway!

Summer of Salt consists of 26 chapters and 88,646 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities, angst, and profanities. Two outtakes of the fanfic can be found here.

"Good Bella, Bad Bella" by off-the-deep-end 0

Posted by
(banner made by typokween)

Bella Swan is a studious woman: she does not complain at all about the copious amounts of homework she receives but is always on top of her daily assignments instead. However, when an assignment regarding a terribly long essay on feminism becomes too much for her on a Friday night, her roommate Jessica doesn't hesitate and pushes her out the door, sending her on her way to a frat party. Now, parties are not something Bella usually enjoyed a lot, but the stress from the last few weeks have her determined to put her mind off things for a while. So before she realizes it, the young student stands in front of the Cullen's home, Jess in tow. Though Bella has never met the Cullens before, she's heard a lot of rumors about them, especially about Edward Cullen, notorious partier, rule breaker, womanizer, slacker, and all around bad boy. And it is exactly that bad boy that Bella runs into when she goes upstairs to freshen up in the bathroom and get a break from the loud and boisterous party downstairs...

Bella is slightly shocked when she finds him smoking in the bathroom, yet cannot help but notice how attractive he is. For the young woman, this is an absolute catastrophe as she is determined to never fall for the charms of a guy like Edward. Edward on the other hand, finds Bella incredibly beautiful as well and considers her just another piece of flesh that he has not had sex with yet. Something that he intends to change soon, of course. And so he pulls out his charms and Bella falls for him hook and sinker. Right there, in the bathroom, the two end up having two hot rounds of sex that leaves them wanting for more. Though they split up after their romp, Edward and Bella cannot help but constantly think about each other and what happened between them. Though Bella can't believe she fell for Edward's spiel, she definitely feels relaxed. Edward is completely captivated by the sexy brunette and has never felt anything like that with anyone before. There is just something about Bella that makes him want to chancge. Will the two of them manage to get past their biased views about each other and become a couple, or will Edward have to prove himself before Bella can let him into her heart?

Good Bella, Bad Bella is an amazing story that will capture your interest immediately! Studious Bella and bad boy Edward come together in this wonderful fanfiction and leave you wanting to read it over and over again. We all have two sides to us, one good and one slightly bad, and Bella Swan and Edward Cullen are no exception to that. She is portrayed as an intelligent student, who somehow ends up turning into a pretty naughty girl once she catches sight of Edward. And Edward, who is widely known for his antics, suddenly starts forgetting his bad side after meeting Bella. It seems as though being together (and spending time rolling in the sheets) is when Edward and Bella are finally able to be themselves - for the first time in their lives. This story is truly amazing and has a great story line. Also, the alternating points of view will allow the reader to really understand what is going on in each of their minds. You will probably find yourself encouraging Edward as he tries to soften himself for Bella so she'll let him into his broken heart. This is a beautiful story and I highly recommend it!!

Good Bella, Bad Bella consists of 36 chapters and a total of 119,167 words. The story is rated M for language and a lot of yummy lemons!

"It Happened One Night" by spangly9 1

Posted by

"[...] Absolutely nobody ever gets anywhere with the bartender. Don't waste your time."
"Maybe I want to waste my time."

Edward is like any other guy his age. He likes to drink, he likes to party, and he loves a good one night stand. Estranged from a controlling father, Edward spends his days as his father's disappointment while working in a cozy little bookstore owned by Carlisle and his wife Esme. One night while bar hoping with his friend Jasper, he zeros in on the unattainable bartender, Bella Swan. Having heard every line in the book, Bella keeps a polite smile and tries to resist his relentless pursuit. But Edward is used to getting what he wants and what he wants? Is the bartender.

One night night turns to two, turns to three and then a regular occurrence of late night booty calls starts until they leak into the day time and suddenly Edward realizes he's in a quasi-relationship with Bella the bartender. This isn't want he wanted, he's a no strings attached kind of guy. But with every second spent with her, his resolve dissolves until finally he realizes he does just want the bartender, he wants the girl and everything that comes with her. But like all clueless men, Edward doesn't realize what he has until it's gone--or was it really ever there to begin with?

A must read! I've always enjoyed spangly9's fics. I don't think she is capable of writing a fic I don't love or haven't read more than twice. Bella has that modern woman style about her that makes you want to BE her. She's so confident and not in a bitchy way, she just is comfortable with who she is and where she's going in her life. The story is written in EPOV and although I usually stray from fics like this, I couldn't help myself and I'm glad I read it--it's spangly9 like I wouldn't read it!--it's so good. Edward is complex and you can totally see how arrogant he is in the beginning but you see him grow and change as the story moves forward. Even Bella shows character growth and she's not even the main character! That in itself is an example of how amazing an author spangly9 is.

It Happened One Night consists of 12 chapters and 70,526 words. This fic is rated MA for lemons and language.

"Down Home" by MrsSpaceCowboy 0

 (banner made by Jaime)

It's been a while since Bella has come back home to visit her family. Rather than spending time in Quitman, the small town in Mississippi she grew up in, Bella prefers staying in Jackson with her friends Jessica and Alice. But alas, every once in a while, one has to see the family and as Bella is currently on semester break, she decides to use that opportunity and drives down home. There, she is immediately dragged into the next bar by her gorgeous sister Tanya and runs straight into Edward Cullen. Edward has been Bella's secret crush since High School, where an unfortunate misunderstanding has prevented them from getting closer. Now, three years later, he still manages to make her heart beat quicker and gets her all flustered, but she refuses to only be one of his flings. What she doesn't know is that Edward's wild days are long gone (if they even existed in the first place) and that he longs to have a second chance with her. He was never really able to get her out of his mind, whether he used to be engaged or not, and now that she is back in town, he is willing to really get to know her. So the two go on date after date and get closer. Over the summer, they both learn a lot of new things about the other (and themselves) that astound and scare them. Edward is in the middle of building his own house and struggles with his decision to become a doctor. Bella feels insecure about her feelings for Edward, especially because she tends to run into women with whom he was involved at some point in time. Thinking that he still pines after his former fiancé, Bella decides to "let him go". Already in too deep, she leave her love behind and goes back to Jackson...

Down Home was written as an entry for the "The Heart of Country" contest and won pretty much every important prize that was awarded, including "1st Place Gentlemen Wear White Award (Swooniest Fella)". And what a swoony fella Edward is! He is a full-blown Southern boy, complete with Stetson and accent. His love for working outdoors brings Bella and the reader a lot of joy as that means at one point in time, he is going to lose his shirt *giggles*. He also wants his girl to spend the rest of his life with him and once Bella sees some reason, he doesn't hold back on telling her exactly that every opportunity he gets. The story is written from BPOV and EPOV, though the latter doesn't come until later in the story. The lemons are not overly graphic but sweetly written and lots of humor comes from the Chief a.k.a. Charlie, who scares Edward only a little bit. It's a lot of fun to read! MrsSpaceCowboy really deserves the praises and awards she's gotten for this little gem!And if you don't believe me, see for yourself!

Down Home consist of 12 chapters and 79,201 words. The story is rated M for tame lemons and some profanities.

"Practice to Deceive" by Livie79 3

Until recently, Edward Cullen was pretty happy with his life: he enjoyed going to college and had planned to propose to his beautiful girlfriend Maggie, whom he had been with for seven years. Unfortunately for Edward, he finds said girlfriend ***king with his best friend and roommate Jacob. Needless to say, Edward is devastated and more than furious about the fact that the two people he trusted the most have deceived him so terribly. So when, after a few months of grieving, he finds out that Jacob has fallen completely in love with the new girl in town, he is adamant on seeking revenge. Edward plans on snatching Bella Swan away from Jacob and to make her his, so that his friend will learn the hard yet valuable lesson of what it means to be cheated on. What Edward doesn't take into consideration is that he could genuinely like Bella. It never occurs to him that he could actually fall in love with the brown-eyed beauty and before he knows it, the whole thing he has with Bella is no longer the part of an act anymore but real. His mission of seeking revenge gets pushed to the background when he spends time with this wonderful woman, who has stolen his heart completely. But what will happen when Bella comes to know that she was part of a game he played? Will he be able to convince her of his true love for her?

Once again, Livie79 has written a wonderful fanfiction! Even though you can understand Edward's hurt, you'll want to smack him every once in a while for being so stubborn and driven by hatred. The latter will melt away gradually as he slowly falls for Bella. And though it's great to read how these two get closer, you always have in the back of your mind that it probably won't last too long before Bella finds out the truth about his initial intentions. Once that happens, you won't be able to put the fanfic away, too eager to find out what happens next and how our two lovers get back together. Let me use this opportunity to say that Practice to Deceive definitely has a HEA! This fanfiction has everything that you could possibly want: from some well-described moments of pure emotions to wonderfully developed characters and a more than interesting plot. Though the fanfic is pretty well-known in the Twilight fandom, I can't help but be a little surprised whenever I come across people, who haven't read this fabulous story yet. Because trust me when I say that this story is totally worth the read!

Practice To Deceive consists of 28 chapters and 131,761 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual activities.

"Emotional Warfare" by completerandomness12 0

 (banner made by Mina)

Geeky Edward Cullen is dumped by his high school sweetheart and finds himself alone... in a parking lot... with an engagement ring in his pocket. He immediately falls into depression, believing that no one will ever want him. He is ready to spent the rest of his life alone, when fate makes him cross paths with a very unique looking girl - bright colored wigs, wacky outfits and no verbal filter, that is Bella Swan for you. It is love at first broken nose, at least in Edward's case. They start off their friendship as he tutors Bella for her Calculus II class and as token of her appreciation, she agrees to help Edward find his balls, figuratively speaking. It is during a fun afternoon that they somehow get caught up pretending to be a couple. News travels fast - way too fast - and soon family is involved. Before Edward can even stop it, his whole family believes that he is finally over his ex and in love with a better and nicer girl. Edward, trying to avoid looking pathetic at his parents' New Years celebration by not showing up with his "new girlfriend", enlists the help of beautiful and mysterious Bella to pose as the latter. They both go to meet Edward's family under the pretense of being a couple, but soon their feelings become real and love blossoms under the lie. Unfortunately, they have the worst of luck and many situations have them digging a hole that, they soon realize, they won't be able to get out without hurting someone or themselves...

Honestly, when we read that title, we expected a very emotional and angst filled story, but this was a very pleasant surprise! The story takes you through the lives of Geeky Edward and Wacky Bella, their ups and downs, their pasts, their presents and how they discover their feelings for each other. The fanfiction is told from both of their points of view; including chapters told by Mama Bear Esme and the Best Bitch Victoria (Bella's BFF), who, by the way, we believe kinda stole the show. We really loved this Victoria, and even more so when James showed up. That was a game of cat and mouse that had us in stitches! The story is really funny, so we suggest you stay away from food and drinks while reading... and also avoid libraries for that matter *Mel blushes*. However, not everything is sugar and rainbows: Bella's life hasn't been easy and her family isn't very likable. It doesn't matter how fabulous Renee or how fuckable Charlie are, they are both neglectful and throw money at everything when Bella only wants to be loved. And here's where Geeky Edward comes to the rescue of his Fairy Princess. But like in every fairytale, this story will end with a happily ever after, and a little dose of karma. Misunderstandings, wacky family members, richy-rich style parties and hilarity ensue as we follow the story of Prince Geekward and his magical Fairy Princess... oh, and her adorable dog Snooki! Get ready for this hilarious ride; it will be worth the stomach aches and the few tears.

Emotional Warfare consists of 205,550 words and a total of 26 chapters. The story is rated M for profanities and description of sexual activities.

"A World Without Sound" by The Romanticidal Edwardian (guest review by Laura) 0

(banner will be made by Jaime)

'My name is Bella Swan; good at sign language and karate. My best friend is deaf, and you know what? It doesn't matter.'

Bella Swan has a black belt in Karate, a master's degree at sign language and is absolutely in love with her long-time best friend Edward Cullen. To her, it doesn't matter that Edward is deaf and she just kicks the asses of everyone who thinks otherwise. However, even though they are more than close, it is really hard for the two to express their feelings for each other - and not only because Edward is deaf. Bella - a fierce, utterly loyal, and cool young chick, who kicks butt first and ask absolutely no questions later - thinks she isn't good enough for her best friend which is why she has difficulties confessing her feelings. Edward, on the other hand, believes that his disability stands in the way of a possible relationship. He even tries to stop her from taking on those people who mock him for his sickness but to no avail: Bella defends his honor whenever she thinks she has to!

This is the best fan-fiction I have ever read and trust me, I've read many. The touching relationship between Edward and Bella will capture you from the start! It flows naturally and is nothing but pure fluff. And even though the two are only able to communicate via sign-language, the story is far from boring but rather touching and informative. A World Without Sound is light and humorous, yet still manages to touch upon topics that make you sad. Relating to Edward through Bella's POV is something only a few writers can do but The Romanticidal Edwardian is definitely one of them. This story will make you cry, laugh and aw like you're a thirteen-year-old girl again because even though the laughs will happen first, the crying will catch up on you in the end when things get heavy (even though there is minimal angst). Short flashbacks show you a protective Esme, a slightly too sexual Alice and Jasper, an abrasive Emmett and even a six-year old Edward, who hates the fact that best friend has a crush on his father! Such a heart-warming and beautifully composed story - not to be missed!

A World Without Sound is rated M for some lemony goodness and consists of 22 Chapters and 105,849 words.

Edward Cullen had everything in his life: he grew up in a rich and loving family and was on the best way of becoming a doctor at the University of Maryland. But a tragic event strikes him so hard that he drifts to a dark place, abandons his family, and withdraws to himself completely. The once lively and loving Edward slowly turns into a broody and angry young man. Yet still, luck seems to somehow be on his side as he miraculously manages to receive an amazing scholarship from the University of Washington; offering him to start a second career as a football player. Considering that he is in dire need of money and a new persective in life, Edward accepts the Dean's offer, but also needs to accept some conditions. As the Dean is well aware of Edward's escapades in the past he is only willing to welcome him to UW if he either stays in his dorm room all the time, thoroughly watched by surveillance cameras, or goes to live in an apartment with four other young people, one of whom will keep an eye on him. Needless to say, Edward chooses option number 2 and finally becomes the newest member of the Huskies Football Team...

What he doesn't expect is that his four new roommates will change his life irrevocably. First of all, Edward shares the apartment with three women - Alice, Rosalie, and Bella - and one guy - Emmett. The latter is supposed to keep Edward in check all the time and informs him rather harshly that he'd better stay the hell away from his girlfriend Rose. Moreover, Emmett also wants him to stay clear of Alice's and Bella's way all the time and, for now, that doesn't sound like too big of a challenge for Edward. At least until he meets Bella. Though the two don't start off on good terms when they meet, the still realize quickly that they suffer from similar traumatic pasts. Edward falls hard for her but is patient enough to let her set the pace of the relationship. They both decide to continue whatever is happening between them in secret for a while, at least until Emmett gets a lot more comfortable around Edward. But of course, their plan doesn't work and Emmett finds out way too suddenly for their liking. What will happen then? And will Bella's and Edward's pasts eventually break them apart?

I can't believe I did not find this story earlier! In the vast Twilight fandom, it seems as though Learn You Inside Out was hidden somewhere and I had to dig hard and deep to find it. But now that I did, I strongly encourage everyone to read it! This story has is all: whether you are looking for angst, a sexy Sportward, who aspires to become a doctor (gah! I need a fan!), lovely lemons, comfort, fluff, or even some college drama - I don't think there is anything this story lacks! wolfpgirl has also created great character personalities apart from the awesome plot-line. She manages to include a peppy Alice as a dance leader for the Huskies and the girlfriend of Edward's best friend Jasper; a bold and car-loving Rose and her lover, the overprotective bear, Emmett; as well as our lovely Edward and a dancing Bella all into one! Furthermore, you will never miss out on both Edward's and Bella's thinking since the story alternates between their respective points of view. The story will clench your heart in ways you have probably never experienced before and leave you hooked until the very last word, leaving you sighing happily at the end. Experience a superb written fanfiction that I'm sure you'll enjoy more than the best rollercoaster you have ever sat in - no kidding! So WORTH THE READ!!!

Learn You Inside Out consists of 31 chapters and 163,199 words. The story is rated M for foul language, mature discussions, and lemons.

"The Sound of Silence" by Besotted 0

Edward Cullen had his future perfectly planned out: he was double majoring in pre-medicine and music and straight on his way to become a successful doctor. Yet due to the huge amount of studying he had to do, Edward never had a steady girlfriend. So one might call it accident or fate when he unexpectedly encounters a beautiful young woman in a grocery store. Captivated by her, Edward offers to carry her bags for her but the young lady does not respond. And the reason behind that, Edward should learn soon, is not that she vehemently tries to ignore him but simply that she didn't hear him. Because Bella, the beautiful stranger, is deaf.

And luck keep being on his side when Edward figures out that Bella is enrolled at the same university he is at. But Bella is not a student, she's teaching sign language! The two make it a habit to meet everyday, 20 minutes before her class starts, and get to know each other by conversing through iPads and the little sign language Edward has already been able to pick up. He decides to learn the language well enough to be able to really talk to Bella and spends hours studying. Meanwhile, he and Bella develop close feelings for each other and though she is hesitant at first, she eventually decides to give their relationship a chance. But how will Edward's friends and family react to Bella's disability?

Hats off to Besotted for creating such a beautiful story - completely told from Edward's perspective! She realistically depicts the conflicts that a disabled person encounters while also pointing out that being deaf is not the end of the world. The author has portrayed the characters extremely well: Bella, though deaf, is a mature and strong female, who ignores those who try to exclude her from the norm. Our lovely Edward is exactly that: lovely. He is immensely patient and lets Bella set the pace of their relationship. What makes The Sound of Silence so special, however, is that Besotted shows her (hearing) readers how utterly unaware we are of so many fascinating aspects of life. Like the sound of the waves you hear when you put your ear down in the soft sand. Or the fastened rhythm of your lover's heartbeat when you are near him. Soon, one comes to the conclusion that, indeed, silence does have a sound and if you read this heartfelt story, you will know exactly what I mean. Experience love at first sight that will have you hooked till the end! A must-read!

The Sound of Silence consists of 30 chapters and 164,251 words. The story is rated M for language and hot sexual activities.

"One Hazy Night" by SweetDulcinea 0

Posted by Anonymous

It was supposed to be nothing but a fun weekend, but it turned out to be so much more! When Edward Cullen awakes with a mind-numbing headache he knows that he must have had a wild night. Once his vision starts to normalize and he sits in the bathroom, waiting for the vomiting to begin, a few memories come back to him. He remembers, for example, that his cousin Emmett came up with the idea to spend an impromptu-weekend in Las Vegas - only four weeks before Edward would graduate from college. So while that actually might not have been the best idea, Edward nonetheless agrees to join the trip when he hears that Emmett's friend and Edward's long-time crush, Bella Swan, will be there as well.

Imagine his surprise when he finds said Bella Swan lying in his bed! And if that wouldn't be confusing enough, Edward also notices a white wedding band on his ring finger. Panicking he grabs some clothes, leaves the room, and runs straight over to the suite of Emmett and Rosalie. And they confirm his worst nightmare: Edward had married Bella yesterday evening. Apparently, both had been absolutely wasted and no matter how often their friends had tried to prevent the worst from happening, the two insisted on a chapel wedding in Vegas. So what now? While Edward studies in Boston, Bella has her life in Tennessee. They soon realize that they have feelings for each other but are unsure whether it's enough to stay married and not file for divorce instead. And worst of all, how will the parents react? To hell with 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!'!

Ony Hazy Night is a very well written short-story that you will most likely read in one sitting! Though the plot centers around an often used cliché - waking up married in Las Vegas - the characters deal rather realistically with the whole situation. That they are both wearing wedding bands now does not mean that Edward and Bella suddenly realize their true feelings for each other, far from it. While Bella is pretty sure she'd like to see where this thing with Edward is going, he is a lot more skeptical and only reluctantly agrees to give it a try. Interestingly enough, in the end, it will be the long distance between them that will get them closer! An angst-free short story with a nice lemon in the end and a few funny moments in between!

One Hazy Night consists of 11 chapters and 18,977 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual situations and profanities.

"Housemating Season" by AngryBadgerGirl 0

 (banner made by Jaime)

Bella Swan starts a new adventure when she travels across the country and starts classes at Dartmouth. Upon arrival, the clumsy, sweet and a tad overwhelmed young woman, finds out where and with whom she's going to live with for the next four years. It turns out that Bella will be sharing an on-campus apartment with several upperclassman: Rosalie, the fashion model; Emmett, the star football player; Jasper the charming southern boy; Alice, the energetic artist; and finally Edward, the vegetarian and vampire lore loving mystery. Bella manages to attract the latter's attention in the most unusual way, a.k.a. a softball to the head, and a connection is made right away - sparks flying all inclusive.

The plot line is very similar to the original Twilight novels, but without the cockblocking and with a lot more laughs. It becomes clear pretty quickly that the author has written the story to give a twist to all those parts of the novels that, as a reader, you might have had some issues with. So there's angst, there's fluff, there are lemons, there are tears, there are laughs, there's everything for everyone all packed up in an beautiful and unique fanfiction. If you are looking for a story that mixes all the best parts of Edward and that has a Bella with some spunk, then this is your type of fic. It's an amazing read, one of our favorites actually. Bella will experience this sweet, tender, passionate and intense first love, and you will get to experience it all through her eyes. It is impossible not to fall in love with Edward, either. The way he treats her (whenever he isn't being a cluesless ass) is absolutely swoon worthy. Take this line, for example: "I've never been so completely captivated by someone before, and I don't think I ever will again." Yeah... *swoon* But also be prepared for some complications and misunderstandings here and there, you gotta take the bad with the good, and this story does a good job at mixing them both. Housemating Season by AngryBadgerGirl should be on everyone's list of must reads, it certainly was in ours!

Housemating Season consists of 21 chapters and a total of  94,772 words. The story is rated M for adult situations and profanities.

"Bella's Hymen Theory" by SwanCullen12 2

Posted by

After yet another breakup, Bella Swan comes up with a theory to explain her tragic love life. And what would that theory be? Well, it all to do with her hymen. See, all of her previous boyfriends had found someone else to 'tend to their needs' - something Bella found herself unwilling to do. Because the young woman is still a virgin and actually didn't mean to change that in the very near future. But desperate times demand desperate means and so Bella vocalizes her dilemma to her best friend and roommate Edward Cullen. She even goes a step further and wants Edward to "solve" her problem. Bella wants him to be her "Hymen-Breaker"!

“Hell No!” is Edward Cullen's answer but after a little convincing here and there and due to the fact that the mere thought of Bella asking another man to help her out makes him furious, he agrees. And while the two start teaching each other lessons along the way, Edward begins to develop feelings for his house mate, or rather, he suddenly realizes that he had always felt more for Bella than just friendship. But when it's time to let her know about his revelation, well, let's just say he doesn't have the best of luck...

Funny and cheesy! That's exactly how to describe this hilarious story by SwanCullen12. You'll be constantly dying of laughter as Bella pretty much rivals every stand-up comedian with her hilarious thoughts, her inability to swear and the crazy conversations she leads with her vagina. Our dear Edward is a former NFL player, who now owns a local bar. He's very stubborn and totally oblivious to his feelings towards our lovable Bella. If you're in need for some humorous and corny romance, written completely from Bella's POV, Bella's Hymen Theory is a must-read for you!

So far, Bella's Hymen Theory consists of 21 chapters and a total of 99,257 words. The story is rated M for adult situations and profanities.
