Edward Cullen is a well-known young, wealthy, and successful Wall Street stockbroker - and with his rising fame, came arrogance and more than willing women. In short, he's used to getting what and who he wants. He tries to seduce Bella Swan into his bed at a private event but is rejected, leaving him angry and his suit drenched in champagne. Out of spite, he and Jasper - his best friend and wing-man - make a bet: Edward has to make Bella fall in love with him and, in return, he'll receive Jasper's house in the Hamptons. What's the harm, right? As part of his plan, he hires Bella to handle the PR for his upcoming book and though she's resistant at first, she soon admits it's in her career's best interest to take him on as a client. Part of him expected her to be an easy conquest, but he finds that she's far from it...

He forms a friendship with Bella as part of his plan but what he doesn't expect, is to find himself falling for her in the process. With so much to do for Edward's book, they spend most of their time together and become closer to one another than they thought possible - to the point that Bella agrees to date Edward exclusively. Everything is going smoothly for a while, and the couple's blissfully happy. Unfortunately, secrets always have a way of getting out. Instead of following Jasper's advice and coming clean to Bella, he just calls off the bet but remains quiet about it. Well, until Bella's best friends find out about it and refuse to hide it from her - but, even then, he won't budge so her girlfriends take matters into their own hands and spill. With Bella's devastation on his shoulders, can Edward find it in him to tell her the truth and fix the cracks in their relationship?

I had read the first chapter of Hot Commodity while it was still a work in progress but, because I'm so impatient when it comes to waiting for updates, I chose to wait until it was complete before starting it. It would be an understatement to say it was well worth the wait. Be warned: Hot Commodity is a slow burn and has a healthy dose of angst - though not overwhelmingly so. This is a story where you're likely to find yourself bursting out laughing and wanting to pull your hair out, at the same time. I personally found Edward's initial attitude towards women disgusting, but it's something that changes with time as the story continues. The 34 chapters in this story fly by - at least they did for me. I really enjoyed it and hold it high on my list. It's beautifully written, has little to no grammatical errors, and will have you wanting more!

Hot Commodity consists of 34 chapters and 211,461 words; it's rated M for foul language and lemons galore.
