"We Are Broken" by Hoodfabulous 0

Imagine a life with an overbearing mother whose expectations drown you in a world of money and standing, of who’s with whom, of your actions judged by others. Never able to live up to those maternal wants while always under the shadow of her brother, Bella finds solace for a few short years with her husband and child—a time full of love and happiness that is so abruptly ended by an accused lead foot and a disastrous secret. Now imagine a happy life with a wife, a job, and something so settling that it’s so good before it’s torn away by a tragedy that fills you with guilt because—even if it isn’t your fault—two lives are lost. Edward may have survived the car crash, he may have survived the court proceedings, and he even may have avoided jail time because of it, but that doesn’t stop him from reliving the moment he took the lives of Bella’s husband, Eric, and their young son, Ben.

Bella and Edward both grieve in their own way as they attempt to heal from the tragedy that brought them so much pain. She drowns her sorrows in alcohol, ignoring the empty hallways of her home, hiding behind the ivory of her cover-up and a carefully placed façade that slowly peels away with every day that passes. Having lost his wife to a better marriage and not caring for his conduct in public, Edward punishes his many offenses with an acceptance for a life behind bars because of his unwillingness to forgive himself. It’s there within that steel cage that they meet, reconnect, and realize that they can help each other overcome the tragedy that brought them together in the first place.

There is a beautiful sorrow about this story of two broken people, their lives so intricately woven, bordering on that line between hatred and forgiveness. So many of us are eager to accept the rage. It’s hard to step back and realize the good that could come out of forgiving because it’s easier to drown in bittersweet memories and what-ifs. But Hoodfabulous tells a story that, despite its sad beginning, lifts your spirits with the new-found love born out of something horrible. Told from the POV of both Edward and Bella, we see just how similar and different they are from each other and are able to witness their hesitant fall into a future by each other’s side. We Are Broken teaches you a lesson about how losing something wonderful doesn’t mean it’s lost forever and that, no matter how much you hold onto people, sometimes it is better to let them go. It’s a short read, but it packs a punch that will leave you breathless. Especially that ending. It’s all about that ending. That ending will twist you up as much as its twists the story. So if you've read and loved just what exactly would you like to say to Renee?

We Are Broken consists of 14 chapters and 36,951 words. It’s rated M for foul language and sexual content.

"Dirty South Drug Wars" by Hoodfabulous 1

He was told to stay away from her and her kind; she was told that he was from a dangerous family. Two rival families - the Swans and the Cullens - come together in this wonderful Twilight version of Romeo & Juliet.

Edward and Bella first meet when they are just twelve years old - at the funeral of Charlie Swan, king of the drug trafficking business and father of Bella. Even at such a tender age, the two of them are already aware of their families' rivalry, yet can't help but get lost in each other's eyes and begin to form a secret friendship. But there are complications. Bella is told that Carlisle Cullen, Edward's adoptive father and Charlie's successor, is responsible for the murder of her father. At the same time, Edward is told that it was Bella's now expired father, who was behind the death of his biological father, Edward Snr. Despite these rather unfavorable circumstances, the two of them hope that one day, their families can overcome their differences - everyone is just human after all. And even if there is an animosity between the Cullens and the Swan, why should they suffer from it?

After years of separation, the two meet again when they are both eighteen and they recognize each other right away. White lilies, a token Edward gave Bella at her father's funeral, help reunite the two friends; friends, whose sexual tension so palpable that they continue seeing each other, despite their families' feud. Before they know it, they are completely in love with each other and both are adamant on finding out the truth behind the murders of Edward Snr. and Charlie. The two star crossed lovers try to solve mystery after mystery; unraveling the secrets from their pasts while simultaneously wanting nothing more than to be together forever. And even though Carlisle and Esme are surprisingly supportive of Edward's new girlfriend (ultimately, they only have the best interest for their (adoptive) son in mind), it will be hard for Edward and Bella to reach their HEA. Will their love bring the two families together or ruin everyone even more than before?

If you are a fan of Romeo & Juliet, I guarantee that you will love this story to pieces - so much so that you will want to read it over and over and over again. Hoodfabulous will definitely have you wrapped around her finger when you are reading this fabulous fanfic of hers. Honestly, I was more than surprised to find that this story is pretty under-appreciated because it definitely deserves all the compliments in the world and a big 'chapeau'! Not only are the characters well-portrayed and far from being one-dimensional, but the author also manages to elicit a variety of emotions from you while you read. I should probably warn you that this story does contain character death (not Edward or Bella) and although this will bring tears to your eyes - I know it did for me, which is extremely hard to accomplish - it only intensifies how great this story really is. Top this off with the amazing plot and you have a fanfiction that will have you completely hooked from the start. It is a story that has it all and you will surely be missing out on a lot if you do not read it! I REALLY promise, it is SO worth your time!

Dirty South Drug Wars consists of 40 chapters and a total of 239,801 words. The story is rated M for language, some violence, and hot smut.

"Breakaway Bella" by Hoodfabulous 2

Posted by Anonymous

Fleeing from an abusive stalker, Bella Swan leaves her Mississppi hometown Masen and comes to Memphis, Tennessee. She makes a living by working in a small Irish pub as a barkeeper and is even able to make some new friends. Yet fate isn't being kind to her as 22-year-old Bella finds herself lying face down on the floor of grocery store while two men with guns demand money and anything else of value. In an act of bravery Bella saves her fellow customers by beating the sh** out of one intruder, causing the arrival of the police and a huge media frenzy. One of the other women in the store, a small, pixie-like girl named Alice, is picked up by her older brother Edward. When she wants to thank Bella for everything she's done, Edward sees his sister's savior for the first time and can't for the life of him force himself to look away. Scared that her face would be on TV stations and newspapers countrywide Bella flees from the scene - chased by Edward. She manages to leave him behind, yet his green eyes would haunt her for the next couple of days.

It it isn't so long until she sees Edward again, who, she knows, is the son of notorious mob boss Carlisle Cullen. As the bar Bella works at isn't very profitable anymore, the current owner is forced to sell the establishment. And the new owner, is no one other than Edward Cullen. Bella remains a member of the staff and she and Edward get more than close. It becomes clear to both of them that they have just found the person they would want to spend the rest of their lives with. Too bad, that Edward's ex-girlfriend Tanya (and according to his father Carlisle, the future Mrs. Cullen), won't leave him alone and Bella's stalker James finds and threatens her on the grand re-opening of the club. In order to save those who are near and dear to her, the young woman decides to take matters into her own hands and end the life of James Hunter.

Breakaway Bella is Hoodfabulous' first fanfiction and you will notice that while reading. As the story is unbeta'ed there are a number of typos and grammatical mistakes. Sometimes one and the same work is used twice or thrice in one sentence. That said, Breakaway Bella does show a lot of Hoodfabulous' big potential. The plot is interesting and she did a good job on some of the new characters that are introduced - first and foremost Tia. Next to a lot of violence and rape (!) the fanfiction contains a good amount of humor that will hardly leave your eyes dry. Emmett's character description, however, might be a litte bit too ridiculous for some of you. His fear of little people or choice of Halloween costumes might make you shake your head disapprovingly. As far as Edward and Bella go, their relationship is fast, really fast. They see each other and, bang, they know they've found their soulmate. Within the first fifth of the story both realize their love for one another and Edward even has visions of him and Bella married and with children. It is Edward's possessiveness, Carlisle's strict adherence to family traditions, and Bella's abusive stalker that keep the two from having a real relationship. Yes, Breakaway Bella might have its flaws, but I personally think that Hoodfabulous' debut is worth to be recommended!

Breakaway Bella consists of 35 chapters and a total of 193,977 words. The story is rated MA for foul language, violence, angst, and graphic description of sexual activities. Please only read the fanfiction if you are 18 years or older.
