"The Imprint" by Kat097 1

Posted by
(banner made by time_lights)

In a society where some people have what's known as an imprinting gene - a genetic indicator of who you're meant to be with - and some don't, it's rare to find those who resist the pull. Bella Swan is one of those few; after her mother broke the imprint with her father to be with another man, and her boyfriend left her for his own imprint, she became more than reluctant to follow through with the imprinting idea. Though most people are happy or content with their imprints, she doesn't want to risk getting hurt like her father, and losing her hard-earned independence. Unfortunately for her, she imprints on a man without realizing it - and it appears as though the man she imprints on also carries the gene. Her first instinct is to run away from him but he's determined to know her and will go through any means to do so. As his desire to pursue a relationship rises, she fights harder to get away from him. Well, until the pain from resisting becomes too much and she gives in - hoping for some comfort. As Edward takes the time to prove that he doesn't want to make her dependent on him and just wants her to be a part of his life, Bella slowly lets her walls down and opens herself to the possibility of love. Can she put her negative feelings aside long enough to let Edward all the way in, before losing him?

The Imprint is one of those stories you can't stop reading until it's over - at least that was the case with me. It has been on my to-be-read list for over two years before I finally got the chance to read it. It was well worth the wait; I was not disappointed in the least. This is not a story where B&E are in love by the first few chapters; though their connection is almost instant, this is a slow burn - one where their relationship is basically non-existent for a while before we get to the fluffier part of the story. As of late, I've been on a binge for reading stronger Bellas, and I love how Kat097 portrayed Bella; a strong, independent woman who doesn't want to depend on a man for anything - imprint or not - and refuses to be anything less than what she wants to be. The Imprint isn't a story for everyone - there's nothing traumatizing about this story, as I know there are readers who don't like more science fiction oriented fics - but it's well worth the read. I've enjoyed every minute of it, and I hope other readers do too.

The Imprint consists of 30 chapters and 48,495 words. The story is rated M for mild sexual content and foul language.

"Lean on Me" by awish0921 1

(banner made by Bethany)

Isabella Swan is an orphan who has been living in Seattle with her older sister since she was eleven years old. Though she has spent years working as one of the three assistants for local architect, Edward Masen, she's been wanting to put her nursing degree to use and become a hospice nurse. When she gets a call from a hospice agency to care for a terminally ill cancer patient, she quits her job, packs her bags, and goes to Forks. Upon arriving, she meets Carlisle Cullen and his wife. She's told their son may be arriving to the house, but nobody mentions his name and she doesn't see pictures of said son. To her surprise, the Cullen's son is none other than her former boss - Edward Masen. Regardless of the tension between them, she pushes forward and focuses on caring for Esme - who can see they're meant to be.

Edward Masen has always been one to focus on his accomplishments and put personal relationships on the backburner. He runs a successful architecture firm in Seattle and is dependent on his three assistants. Isabella Swan happens to handle his calendar and he's been attracted to her since she started working at the firm. When she quits on him, saying he's pissed off would be an understatement. But, when he gets a call from his dad saying his mother's health is deteriorating, he forgets about everything at work at leaves for Forks. Imagine his surprise when Isabella Swan is the live-in hospice nurse that has been assigned to his mother. Though nothing could surprise him more than his feelings for her, especially the possibility of falling in love with her. And when Esme dies, will he be able to let his guard down and trust his feelings for Bella?

I don't have the words to describe just how much I love this story. It's a beautifully written story, with little to no grammatical errors and it has a great pace. Lean on Me is written in third person point of view, so you'll get to have a peek into everyone's thoughts and what they're going through. It is a slow burn - though Edward and Bella's attraction is noticeable from the start, it does take time for their relationship to develop, and the lemons are amazing! Granted, there are moments where you'll want to tear your hair out but you'll also have moments where you can't stop laughing or crying. I must also say that Lean on Me is a tearjerker so keep tissues near you... I know I had trouble reigning the waterworks in.

Lean on Me is complete. It consists of 19 chapters and 56,222 words. It's rated M for foul language and sexual content.

"Bella Swan: Kidnapper" by Kambria Rain 2

(banner made by time_lights)

Bella Swan and her seven-year old son Leo are just done with their grocery shopping when they watch a young women rudely grabbing and yelling at two young children - a boy in Leo's age and a little girl, probably not older than three. It is obvious that she hurts the children, which is why Bella acts fast and without thinking first. She quickly grabs the kids, puts them in her car, drives off. After unsuccessfully trying to reach Ethan and Sophie Cullen's father Edward on his cell, she drives to his workplace, Cullen Construction, and brings him back his son and daughter. Though Edward is furious in the beginning, he soon realizes that Bella has done him an immense favor by saving his kids from the fury that is his now ex-girlfriend. However, as happy as he is that the unfriendly woman is finally out of his life, Edward is now in desperate need of a new babysitter.

And apparently, he isn't really good in picking them because, once again, Bella must come to the rescue of Ethan and Sophie when she realizes that their father has left them with her irresponsible neighbor Tanya. When Edward picks up his children again, he notices how attached they are to Bella and what a witty and feisty woman she actually is. As his kids trust her unconditionally and Bella seems to have a (mysterious) job where she can work from home, she asks her to be Ethan and Sophie's babysitter. Bella doesn't think twice and agrees to look after to two monsters, not admitting to herself that she already feels as attached to them and incredibly drawn to their father. Because of the fact that Leo's conception wasn't planned and she doesn't even know who his father is, Bella is careful with trusting men and letting them into her heart. But it doesn't take too long until she succumbs to Edward irresistable charm!

In Bella Swan: Kidnapper Bella is a mom every child would be happy to have. She loves kids with a passion and never tires of doing the funniest and most ridiculous things for and with them. She has a bouncing castle in her yard and a ball pit in her basement, she lets the kids play with paint and water guns and builds a tree house with Leo (whom she named after Leonardo, one of the Ninja Turtles, by the way). There is never a dull moment in the Swan household, something that Edward really likes about her. The two of them cannot seem to stop bantering back and forth whenever they're together, and really seem to be on the same wavelenght. The other characters, first and foremost Bella's crazy sister Nessie, add to the humor of the story, which is written from both Edward's and Bella's POV (sometimes a bit repetitive). Believe me when I tell you this fanfiction will leave no eye dry!

Bella Swan: Kidnapper consists of 23 chapters and a total of 74,736 words. The story is rated M for foul language and description of sexual activities.

"Nature of Love" by drotuno 0

Posted by Anonymous

After finding out that her longtime boyfriend Mike has been cheating on her for over a year, Bella Swan knows exactly what it is that she needs to clear her head. With a bagpack on her shoulder, her camera around her neck, and her loyal German Shepherd Maggie by her side, Bella is ready to begin a journey that will last for months - starting in Georgia, she'll hike the Appalachian trail, getting her all the way to Maine. Just before she takes off, Bella meets brothers Emmett and Edward, who decide to accompany the lovely young lady on her long journey. The two handsome men have been nastily betrayed by their own father and are in desperate need to get away from anything work and job related for a while.

While following the sandy paths of the trail, Edward and Bella get close pretty quickly. While Bella enjoys Edward's intellect and tenderness, Edward is mesmerized by Bella's wit and strength. And though the beautiful brunette is more than willing to really get to know the handsome hunk with bronze-colored hair, he keeps her at arms lenght, too traumatized by his past. Absolutely certain, that Bella will consider him a heartless monster when he tells her what happened to him two years ago, he tries to ignore the feelings he harbors for the gorgeous photographer and keeps a distance. Time passes and for weeks, the three of them are one with nature and its wonders. After a while, they pick up fellow hikers Alice and Jasper as well Bella's best friend and manager Rose along the way. Together, the group of six experiences wonderful and dramatic moments while simultaneously building a strong bond of friendship and love.

As I am a huge fan of drotuno's stories, I have no idea why it took me so long to read this wonderful gem of hers. Nature of Love has some of the most wonderful canon characters I've ever encountered: Emmett is boisterous yet insightful, Jasper is mellow and charming, Alice is lively yet not annoying, Rose is snarky and sexy, Bella is strong and has a big heart, and Edward is broken yet sweet and protective. Oh, and let's not forget Bella's adorable dog Maggie, who stays with Edward at night and calms him through his nightmares, bites cheater Mike in the hand, and greets new friends with a shake of her paw. The story includes some darker moments, especially when Edward and Bella begin sharing their pasts with each other. However, the strong connection they have, keeps them sane and strong, resulting in a number of wonderfully written lemons. The fanfic is written from both characters' POV and has as good as no repetitions. The grammar and writing style are almost flawless and the plot is entertaining and captivating! So don't wait too long and check it out!

Nature of Love consists of 23 chapters and a total of 192,543 words. The story is rated M for descriptions of sexual activities, foul language, and some angst.

"Failure to Thrive" by Julesnerd 0

Posted by Anonymous

Edward Masen and Isabella Swans couldn't have met at weirder moment in time, much less at a weirder place. Because instead of running into each other at a coffee bar or at the university, the two meet at the practice of Carlisle Cullen and Emmett McCarthy, two sexual therapists. While Bella is there to talk with Emmett about her unfortunate past with men and to work on her (non-existing) ability to get aroused, Edward regular sees his father Carlisle to get a grip on his sexual insatiability as well as to find a way to not ejaculate prematurely. When the two meet in the waiting room, Edward asks the wonderful and witty brunette to grab a cup of coffee with him and because Emmett (who is also Edward's adoptive brother) told her to be more open to new experiences, Bella says yes. It doesn't take long for her to notice that she feels safer with Edward than with any other men she's interacted with lately and connects with him over their mutual sexual problems. The two banter back and forth while spending the afternoon together and when they sit down on an old bench, they come to an unusual agreement...

The two students are determined to help each other overcome their sexual inadequacies. While Edward will try to introduce Bella to the arts of love-making (pretty much everything from kissing to actual sex), Bella is willing to help Edward deal with his insatiability and train certain methods that could help him with his ejaculation problem. The two of them meet on a regular basis and go through important milestones together. Whenever they are not busy making out, however, they spend hours getting to know each other better, enjoying to banter back and forth about the most ridiculous things, sometimes joint by their sweet and supportive, yet slightly crazy friends. And so, naturally, what was meant to be a simple deal, soon turns out to be so much more. Edward and Bella develop real feelings for each other that they can't hold back and both plan to act on it.

Failure to Thrive can be described as the following: extremely funny and incredibly hot! When I read the summary for the story, I expected a fanfiction full of darknes and and lots mature themes - yet the moment I read the first few paragraphs, I knew that I was in for the exact opposite. Even though the first chapter is somewhat written from a third-person perspective (somewhat because Julesnerd jumps to a first-person perspective every once in a while) the rest of the story is written from either Edward's or Bella's POV. Don't let this small error in continuity keep you from reading the fic because you'd miss out on so much! First and foremost, wonderful graphic lemons and an awefully cute Edward, but also the hilarious bickering that is going on between our lovely couple (and whenever Emmett or Alice come into play, I promise that no eyes will remain dry). There is absolutely no angst in this story and virtually no drama. This is pure fluff, humor, and lots of delicious lemons - these two really make sure to explore each other's bodies (and their own) to the max! Enjoy!

Failure to Thrive consists of 27 chapters and a total of 195,999 words. The story is rated MA for graphic description of sexual activities, minor references to sexual abuse, and profanities. If you are under the age of 18, I'll advise you not to read the fanfiction!

"All Nighters" by CaraNo 0

Posted by Anonymous

When thirty-eight-year old Edward Cullen is asked by his business partner Charlie Swan whether he is still looking for a new assistant, he has no idea how much his life would change in the following few weeks. Happy to finally have some help again, Edward happily accepts Charlie's suggestion to employ his daughter Bella. She has just graduated from college (at the age of twenty-one, mind you) and as she wants to one day open her own graphic design company, she sees this as a great opportunity to get a whiff of what it means and takes to run your own business. Unfortunately, neither Bella nor Edward thought about what working together would actually entail. Because when Bella walks into her new boss' office, both of them have difficulties breathing. The last time they saw each other, Bella was sweet seventeen and still a girl. Now, however, she is a gorgeous and enticing woman, who smells too good for words. Needless to say, Edward has the same effect on Bella and the two know they are in deep trouble...

But if them working together and an age difference of seventeen years isn't enough to make their situation utterly complicated, the fact that Bella also has a rather unusual and slightly naughty little side-job definitely is. She loves dancing and works at Girlesque, a night club in New York. And though she doesn't strip, she is putting on some seriously hot, burlesque-like show for her visitors. One day, the latter happens to be Edward, who begrudgingly stops by the club after his cousin Emmett begged him to do so. Because ever Edward's divorce from Kate has been finalized, he buries himself in work, shying away from any kind of fun or pleasure. That chances, however, when Edward sees Bella and her sexy performance. Both of them cannot deny their desires for the other any more and have amazing sex in his office. Unfortunately, Edward is tormented by the age difference and the fact that his good friend Charlie might not be happy about what he does with his daughter, and so he distances himself from Bella. Thankfully for Bella, they have to go on long business trips together during which she decides to confront her boss and confess her feelings to him. Will Edward be able to get over Kate and everything she's done to him and finally give in to what he really wants? And what will happen once Charlie finds our about their relationship?

Compared to many of her other fics that the hugely talented CaraNo has written for the Twilight fandom, this little story is rather outside the norm, yet still absolutely amazing. First and foremost, All Nighters includes as good as no angst. Though the story does have its dramatic moments, the general tone is fluffly and sweet - no darkness whatsoever. Bella knows exactly what she wants - Edward - and she is willing to do everything in her power to get him. She is incredibly smart and confident with herself while Edward is like a glorious lion trapped in a cage. He really wants out and devour her and the future they could have, but he doesn't know how. Moreover, you only have the canon couples in this story, no funny combinations: Edward is with Bella, Charlie with Renee, and Emmett kind of hooks up with Rose. In addition, you will find some immensely funny passages in All Nighters, especially once Charlie finds out about his daughter's new boyfriend. It's hilarious and so well-written! This wonderful story by CaraNo is presented from both characters' POV and a really quick read. The plot is so interesting that you probably won't need more than two sittings to be through. Happy reading!

All Nighters consists of 3 chapters and a total of 40,006 words. The story is rated M for lemons and foul language.

"Mix Up" by The Irish Cullen 0

Posted by Anonymous

Bella Swan worked hard to get where she is today. At 25, she's already the CEO of Dwyer Holdings, a damn good architect, and the mother of an eight-month old baby boy. As she works long hours and doesn't feel comfortable in bringing her son to work, Bella hired a nanny awhile ago to take care of Connor during the day. Unfortunately, Mrs. Cope, aforementioned nanny, needs to retire for health reasons, forcing Bella to look for an adequate replacement. And so it comes that the posh Tanya is given the job as Connor's new nanny. On the evening of Tanya's first work day, an exhausted Bella comes home expecting to be welcomed by the cute and chubby face of her son. Instead she is greeted by a redheaded baby girl...

When Edward's girlfriend Victoria tells him she's pregnant, he doesn't really know what to think. He knows that she is not the woman he wants to share his life with and to start a family with her is not what he had in mind. Victoria on the other hand surprises him by admitting that she doesn't want the baby and would be willing to have an abortion. As Edward doesn't want THAT to happen he convinces her to carry the baby to the term and, just like a surrogate mother, give it to him after birth never looking back. This is how Lily comes into the life of Edward Cullen, successful architect and on the way of getting a lucrative job with Dwyer Holdings. When he asks his brother Emmett to look after his daughter for the day he had no idea what hell would break lose later on. Because instead of bringing his niece back home, he presents Edward with a sweet baby boy...

Before reading any further, I have to tell you that, although Mix Up is a really wonderful story, it also contains a number of typos and grammatical mistakes! Lots and lots of "ifs" are missing and commas are virtually nonexistent. That said, you will be able to understand the story and it won't really bother you too much. In fact, once you got used to it, you'll have a very sweet, immensely funny, and very interesting story in your hands. A story in which you have a Bella who learned early to put on the face of a cold and calculating boss in order to be accepted by the world of men she is surrounded with. It becomes apparent pretty quickly, though, that actually she is a loving and sweet young mother who is afraid of getting hurt. Enter Edward, a handsome man who understands the difficulties of being a single parent and is also persistent to get her out on a date. The two click immediately and experience some great moments together! P.S. Bella's friend Seth is hilarious!

Mix Up consists of 30 chapters and 100,413 words. The story is rated M for adult situations and foul language.

"The House of Glass" by LuckyStar815 1

Posted by Anonymous

Bella Swan knows the man she is going to travel to Italy with very well - even before they are formally introduced. Only a couple of weeks earlier, she had seen the same handsome face ordering a coffee at Starbucks and, fearing that he was way out of her league, she had kept quiet. Now, the Adonis of a man, who, she finds out, goes by the name of Edward Masen, is supposed to present ideas for an upcoming project to a wealthy Italian business man - with Bella as his interpreter...

Once in Milan, Bella becomes aware of the extreme pull she feels towards Edward, who seems to reciprocate her feelings. After dinner in a sea food restaurant and a nice walk home, Edward accompanies Bella to her room. When it's time to say goodbye he begs her to tell him to leave, hinting at the consequences if she didn't... And even though nothing happens that night, the two don't seem to get each other out of their minds. With a bouquet of flowers, Edward invites Bella to a non-business dinner and has a proposition to make that she can't refuse, or can she?

The House of Glass is completely written from Bella's POV. Given the fact that Edward tends to behave inexplicably cold and bossy, this can be rather frustrating. The reader only knows as much as Bella and that means he is often left with dozens of questions. Like the fanfic's title for example. Though subtle hints are given here and there, the mystery behind The House of Glass isn't revealed until after two thirds of the story are over. But, I think, it's really worth the wait because it fits the plot and, more importantly, Edward, perfectly. Finally, it might be of interest to many of you out there, to know that this story doesn't include any lemons. Once Edward and Bella are about to "do the deed" there is a cut and we read about the "moment after". Though a lot of readers will be sad to hear that (myself included) The House of Glass doesn't need the description of sex to be intriguing, the well-written characters do that all by themselves.

The House of Glass consists of 21 chapters and a total of 78,138 words. The story is rated T.
