1. How do I contact you?
You can contact us anytime by writing an e-mail, joining our Facebook Group, or messaging us on Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter!
2. What kind of fanfictions do you review on the site?
Mostly all human Bella/Edward-centered Twilight fanfiction that is either complete or a work in progress (that is almost finished with a reliable update schedule). All fanfictions we review are still available to read online, i.e. that if a
fanfiction has been pulled by the author then we will also remove the
story from the blog. This is also for your benefit - why would you want us talk
about a story you won't be able to read anyway?
3. How do I get my fanfic reviewed on your site?
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that we will review your fic if asked. This has nothing to do with your fanfic but rather with our own busy schedules. We at Ms. Swan's Bookstore have plenty of fics on our "to be read" lists on top of work, school, home and social life. However, you can always ask, e.g. via our Facebook Group or by sending an email to swansbookstore@gmail.com.
Please remember when sending your request to us that you are asking for our own personal opinions. This site was made with the intention to post Edward/Bella fanfics that we enjoyed enough to recommend to other readers. With that said, we reserve the right to choose what fics we review. There are currently 8 staff members at MSB. If for some reason we collectively as a group come to the decision to not post your fic you will receive an email with constructive criticism as to why we were unable to post your fic.

Typokween sidenote: As an author, I am used to having my writing critiqued in every which way. I've been writing since I was ten so I have heard it all and to this day I always value respectfully given constructive criticism. Take this into consideration:
Despite 14 consecutive agency rejections Stephenie Meyer‘s Twilight went on to sell 17 million copies and spends 91 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list.
The Christopher Little Literary Agency receives 12 publishing rejections in a row for their new client, until the eight-year-old daughter of a Bloomsbury editor demands to read the rest of the book. The editor agrees to publish but advises the writer to get a day job since she has little chance of making money in children’s books. Yet Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling spawns a series where the last four novels consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history, on both sides of the Atlantic, with combined sales of 450 million.

4. I see a fanfic on your site that has been pulled by the author.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if this happens. We will see to remove the review as soon as possible.
5. I see my fanfic on your site and I wasn't asked first.
Sorry! We make it a habit to contact the author before the review is actually posted. We do this by contacting him/her via fanfiction.net private messaging. If you are an author who sees his/her fanfic on the site and want it removed, please contact us immediately.
6. I see my fanfic on here but I don't like the banner that was made for it.
We are very sorry that you don't like our artwork. We always try to reflect the stories' plots accurately in our banners. If you want something specific you will have to answer our initial message on fanfiction.net. If you're really unhappy you can ask us to remove your story altogether from our website.
7. I made a banner for one of the stories you recommended but you didn't use it.
The reason why we make our own banners is two-fold:
First, MSB has high standards when it comes to banners that are used for recommendations. If we don't use your banner it might mean that we feel that it does not quite meet our expectations. However, that doesn't mean that we don't know how much time and effort was put into making it - we, just as much as the story authors those banner were made for, are grateful that some fans out there decide to make banners for stories they enjoyed a lot and we respect their work wholeheartedly!
Secondly, many of us make their own banners because we simply enjoy doing graphic art. When Ms. Swan's Bookstore was opened a year ago, it was meant to be a place where avid fanfiction readers could find great Edward/Bella stories as well as enjoy some good fan art, whether that means in the form of fanfic banners or manipulations.

Cute site. Are you planning to add links to other sites besides FFn? For Example. Walk by MustloveTP is also on TWCS http://www.thewriterscoffeeshop.com/library/viewstory.php?sid=6773
ReplyDeleteand Training the swan by ericastwilight is also on twilighted. http://www.twilighted.net/viewstory.php?sid=4870
Hey there, thanks for your interest in our site! As of now, there are no plans to add links to these sites - mostly because you have to be a registered member to view the stories. ff.net is accessible for everybody. But hey, maybe our stance changes over the next couple of days and we add links to Twilighted and TheWritersCoffeeShop to our posts soon, who knows!? ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks anyway.
