Welcome to the 90's.
Bella is unintentionally living two lives. One in Forks with her dad and her three best girlfriends who are like family; and another in Port Angeles with her mother and the fake privileged kids who have too much money and not enough supervision. Her only ally in PA is Emmett, a big bear of a guy with a jovial outlook and impenetrable tolerance for not only her bullshit, but everyone else’s. It’s why he’s the only one who would willingly head over to Forks at the end of summer vacation to visit Bella and her wild and crazy friends—dubbed “The Pack.” But this year brings change in the form of Emmett’s slightly nerdy cousin, Edward Cullen. Shy and nervous with shaggy hair and glasses, he approaches Bella with caution, but reverence. In fact, he’s pretty determined to make sure they become friends as soon as possible. Especially since school is about to start and he's the new guy.
They connect almost instantly and quickly become an inseparable item. It’s then that Bella sees the true Edward, a boy who is unsure of himself, but on the brink of figuring it out. Like baseball for example, he’s a great player and wants to try out this year for PA, much to Bella’s apprehension. She knows the guys who play on the team and wants Edward as far away from their poison as possible. But no one wants a controlling girlfriend, so with a forced smile she encourages him to and soon he's on the team. That fake smile continues on while watching the boy she loves slowly slip away from her and into a replica of what she hates about Port Angeles. Choices are made that set course to a domino effect unlike anyone could have anticipated.
Written in Bella's POV, The Give Away Girl is by far one of the most well written and true stories in the Twilight fandom. It follows a girl coming of age in a word filled with liars, cheaters, drugs, and sex. Living between two parents on two opposites sides of town, Bella takes onto her shoulders a weight that continuously grows heavier with each day. Edward is not your perfect cookie-cutter boyfriend in this fic, he is real in that he is lead by popularity, jealously, lust, and vengeance. He makes mistakes that are hurtful, but ones that any boy his age would probably make. It’s called reality and I love how bittersweet and angsty this fic is. I love angst and I cried more than five times during this fic, but good lord was it worth it! Edward's transformation from a boy to a man is amazing. Especially since we see it all through Bella's eyes which takes a true talented author to accomplish. Not to mention she managed to get you to not only fall in love with Bella and Edward, but all of Bella's friends as well, which is not something I take lightly since she even managed to get me to love Alice! It's a true pleasure to watch both of Bella's world collide into one and to watch her grow into a woman. If there were a rating system on this blog, I’d give this fic five stars!
The Give Away Girl by MrsSpaceCowboy consists of 244,025 words and 32 chapters. This story is rated MA for language, graphics lemons, drug use (heavy on the pot smoking), and violence.

*Mandy made first baseballward manip (the one where he's holding a bat). She also helped me figure out a better way to express the fic in a banner. For some reason I made like four diff banners for this before settling on this one. Thanks, Mandy!
