"Snapshots" by LyricalKris 3

(banner made by time-lights)

All it took was one envelope to turn both Edward and Bella's happily married life upside-down. Three years ago, she thought she loved Edward's brother Jasper. But when an unfortunate car accident occured, things started going downhill. You see, Jasper was a drug addict and although things appeared to be looking up with  Bella and their baby - whom he care for very much - the accident caused him to believe that their baby had not survived. Grief stricken and filled with pain, Jasper drowned back in drugs and left his family. It is then that Edward becomes Bella's rock, and supports her with her daughter as well as her emotions. It's Edward who manages to patch Bella up, and as the years go by, Bella realizes the meaning of true love - one that she had only for Edward. Yes, the baby is Jasper's by blood, but Edward had been more of a father to her than Jasper ever was. Now when everything was finally starting to balance out, this envelope seemed to be toppling things over once more. Will Bella give Jasper another chance and allow him to explain himself?

Snapshots is yet another wonderfully written fanfiction by LyricalKris. As all her stories are, this one will also bring out the emotions in you. What I really loved about this story was Edward's supporting character - he is the perfect husband and father, and the degree to which he loves his family is staggering. I will admit, it is hard to read about Jasper loving Bella, especially if you are a hard-core E/B fan, but trust me that this fanfiction's twist only adds to the fascination of the plot. The best part that pulls you into the fanfiction is Jasper's character. You have to understand that he is a man that has an unfortunate disease and although he made poor decisions in light of that, he loved his family very much. So don't dislike him! The character development is huge in Jasper and you can't help but feel for him too. Don't hesitate to delve into this amazing story just because Jasper plays a bug part; you will be surprised as to how much you love it! This is a fantastic story about brotherly love, forgiveness, redemption, and self-healing. Please do give it a try!

Snapshots consists of 25 chapters and a total of 92,211 words. The story is  E/B and rated M for language and sexual content.

"Honest Liar" by aWhiteBlankPage 0

Posted by
(banner made by Mina)

Edward Cullen is a broken man. His life is full of conjured up lies in his mind and double standards - none of which he thinks he can match up to. He claims that he hates the idea of smoking and drinking - in fact, he has seen how that has affected his father first-hand - and yet he continues both every single day. He is determined to quit those bad habits the next day, or the next, or the next... but the cycle continues. There is only one light in his entire universe: his wife, Bella. They had been high school sweethearts and she had held his hand even back then, when he was already starting to tumble down a bad road. To him, she was always too good to be true, with the extreme wealth that she came from and the sparkly golden Mercedes she drove, there was absolutely nothing she should see in him that was even close to attractive. But she does, and by some miracle, their love for each other leads to marriage. He thinks that she is believing all of his lies - but maybe she has just... stopped. When his addiction to drugs get uncontrollable, will Bella be able to stand by his side or will it take her lack of presence for him to finally see what he is doing to his own life?

Honest Liar is not told in a typical linear timeline, but the odd timed chapters only make it more fascinating to read. Each chapter is like a puzzle of Edward's story, just like Edward's life really is. It's ironic how Edward's life is just as jumbled up as the chapters are, and when everything finally fits perfectly in the end, so does his life. A chapeau to aWhiteBlankPage for such creative writing! Edward is truly a troubled man - and he has his reasons from what he has seen in his parents - and all he needs is a helping hand. Bella's hand. Your heart will break for him, because he literally does the opposite of what his mind tells him to do, and that is very well portrayed in aWhiteBlankPage's writing. He resembles and lives a realistic life of an addict, one that is determined to quit, but won't until it's too late. The entire story is written from Edward's perspective, and immediately you will realize that this man is, in one simple word, broken and in need of love. Bella does everything she can to reign him back in, but there are things in life that you have to stop on your own and it takes Edward quite a while to do just that. Yes, it is a difficult read, but definitely not an impossible one if you have the patience. It raises a deep message, and I really do salute the author for putting down and writing a story that is so close to her own heart. Don't hesitate to give this story a try because it has a wonderful plot, beautiful characters, a lot of emotions, and a HEA. It's much underrated!

Honest Liar consists of 29 chapters and a total of 86,792 words. The story is rated MA for language, use of drugs, angst, and sexual content.

"Dear Bella" by lellabeth 0

"Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years." ~ Simone Signoret

December 22nd is the only day of the year that Edward allows himself to think of his one and only love - Bella. Every year, on that very day, he writes his ex-wife a letter, reveling in the wonderful memories they created from the moment they saw each other for the first time up to the day when they got married. Once he's done writing, he seals the envelope and sends it to Bella, hoping that she responds. Though he knows that he hurt her beyond words with his actions, Edward also thinks that it isn't anything they cannot resolve if they just get together and talk about it. The two of them are at a point in their relationship where everything and anything can happen. Things could go back to where they were -  a wonderful and fulfilling love - or they could continue to deteriorate until, eventually, there will be nothing left to repair. But will Bella realize that she still loves Edward as much as she used to? Or will it take more than a simple letter to convince her to give him a second chance?

This story is only thirteen chapters long but despite its brevity, it is very emotional and pinches your heart. Before I move on, let me assure you that the story does NOT contain any type of cheating whatsoever and despite the fact that they are both divorced in the beginning of the fanfic, it does not take too long for the two to find their way back together. Just have faith because this fanfiction definitely has a HEA! As Dear Bella is told through both Edward and Bella's perspectives, you are able to get a full view on their relationship and don't miss out on anything. Although the idea of a divorce may prevent people away from giving this fic a chance, trust me when I say that it is totally worth the read; if nothing else than because you will most likely be able to read the story in one sitting! When the two lovers finally do get together though, I have no doubt that you will shed a few tears - it is just that sweet! This realistic fanfiction manages to not only steal your heart but also teach you a thing or two about marriage in just 15k words! Very commendable!!!

Dear Bella consists of 13 chapters and 15,675 words. The story is rated M for angst and sexual references.

"Love Comes Last" by itsyblue1214 0

(banner made by time_lights)

Edward Cullen is a successful doctor and proud to have followed in his father Carlisle's footsteps. From an early age on, Edward has been given the best education possible. He was pushed to learn whenever possible and missed out on typical teenage experiences like partying or girlfriends. Neverthless, the young man idolized his father so much that he gave all those things up rather willingly. His desire to become a great doctor like his dad was stronger than the need to live life to the fullest. Unfortunately, now, years later, Carlisle is but a mere shell of the perfect man that Edward made him out to be. The man, who once established his own pharmaceutical company to help the sick is now ready to hand it over to the highest-bidding politicians. Needless to say, Edward is more than disgusted by his father's immoral actions. As the rightful heir to the family company, the young man is willing to take over for his father and prevent any kind of political interference. Alas, Carlisle refuses to hand over the reigns to his son but gives him an ultimatum instead: marry a woman - and stay married to her for at least four years - to inherit the family business. Otherwise the company will be sold with the highest profit in mind...

All through this mess, Edward's biggest support and rock is his closest friend and confidant Bella Swan. He talks to her about everything and relies on her advice. Over the years, Bella has seen her friend crumble over his father's pressure; something that hurts her immensely. Because for Bella, Edward is much more than just a good friend, he is the love of her life. Unfortunately, she cannot bring herself to tell him about her feelings as she doesn't want to confuse Edward more than he already is. She is ready to be whatever he needs her to be, even if that only means a loyal friend. However, during one drunken night, Edward and Bella discuss Carlisle's preposterous ultimatum and Bella lets it slip that she would marry Edward in order to help out. Though Edward is more than surprised by her honesty, he is determined to not take her up on his offer - there is no way that he would ruin her life to make his better. Yet as the pressure of losing the company weighs to heavy on him, he forgets his morals for a minute and agrees to marry her nonetheless. Will the two of them finally realize that they are truly meant for each other or will their love be tested yet again?

Love Comes Last is truly one of the classics out there in the Twilight Fandom. I really love this story as the author does a fantastic job in completely rope you into the angsty and serious mood of the story. It is an extremely realistic fanfic, especially with regards to the characters. Edward went through a lot throughout his life and the ultimatum that Carlisle confronts him with is his the latest hurdle he has to face. You will probably feel compelled to comfort Edward, trying to make him all better, but don't worry, that's where Bella comes in. She helps him with so much, you'll most definitely find yourself cheering her on. The prologue of the story actually starts at the climax, something that really pulls the reader in. You just have to reading the rest of the story, in order to find out what leads up to the crisis as well as satisfy the curiosity as to what will happen after. The entire story is told from Bella's point of view, but itsyblue still manages to convey Edward's sentiments through the story really well. And despite the many problems the couple face, the story is a HEA! I promise that this story will blow your mind with its heartfelt emotions and keep you at the edges of your seats! Don't miss it and do give it a try, it is SO worth it!

Love Comes Last consists of 24 chapters and a total of 139,523 words. The story is rated M for angst, language, and sexual references.

"Faded Memories" by Catastrophia 0

(banner made by Bethany)

Bella has been in love with Edward for a very long time. Ever since they were freshmen students back in college, their plans for the future had always included each other. So after a couple of years in a steady and loving relationship, they finally said their vows and promised each other forever. But unfortunately, things go downhill after a few years. Over time, the wonderful love Bella once got to experience and the sweet promises she's been given have slowly been replaced by calls that are often ignored and broken or forgotten promises. Edward seems to be married to his job rather than to his wife - at least that's what Bella hopes is the case since the alternative would definitely break her heart beyond repair. She constantly ressures her daughter that Daddy still loves her and very much so, but when another dinner goes by without Edward being present, Bella finally has enough...

This is a heart breaking story told in Bella's point of view. Through flashbacks we get to see the happy times the couple experienced; a stark contrast to the present which is anything but as  wonderful as those memories. The story brought tears to both our eyes when Edward's neglect reaches its limit and Bella finally asks for a divorce. Honestly, at that point, we wanted her to divorce his ass too! But things aren't always so black and white, and Edward is only human after all. We all make mistakes, but those who learn from said mistakes and rise to the occasion are the ones worth fighting for, or in Bella's case, staying for. Yes, this story has a happily ever after, but you will have to go through a couple of heart breaking moments in order to see it. Trust us, you will enjoy this one-shot. After all, when have we steered you wrong?

Faded Memories is a one-shot and consists of 4,712 words. The story is rated M for graphic lemons, foul language, and some angst.

"Resisting Love" by just-a-crazy-fanpire 2

(banner made by Bethany)

The year is 1152 and Bella Swan lives happily with her older sisters Angela and Rosalie in England. The three girls put all their trust into their father, who is solely responsible for earning enough money to be able to provide and care for them. So far, Papa has never disappointed them but things change when their mother passes away a few years after Bella's birth. Not only do the girls and their father go through a difficult time full of grieving and sorrow but financial problems strike the family as well. As Charlie Swans cannot seem to pay of the loan he took out so many years ago, he makes a decision no father should ever make: he sells off his youngest daughter Isabella for marriage to a laird. Though the sisters are shocked to say the least, they know their father wouldn't make such a choice if it weren't absolutely necessary. So begrudgingly, Bella agrees to leave her family behind and get married to Laird Edward Cullen - a Scotsman. Needless to say, the latter doesn't make the situation any better for the future husband and wife, after all, the animosity between England and Scotland has been going on for years...

With both of them being stubborn and more than persistent in their personal beliefs and values, Edward and Bella begin to form a rather unique relationship. And though it takes days for Bella to get used to Edward's huge castle as well as his constantly changing mood-swings, she gradually starts accepting the fact that she now holds a high position as his wife. Moreover, his amazingly good looks make it difficult for Bella to come to terms with her conflicting feelings for him, and, before she knows it, she is head over heels for her husband. However, despite the immensely passionate nights that he spends with his attractive wife, Edward shies away from allowing the feelings he harbors for Bella to grow. Yes, he cares for her but unfortunately he doesn't trust her. Bella learns from his relatives that Edward has gone through an extremely tough time when he was just a little boy as witnessing the murder of his parents has been taking a toll on him. Knowing that, Bella does not force Edward to confide in her, even though there's nothing she wants more. And so they continue living their lives: with passionate love-making at night and refraining from opening up during the day. But what happens when the person responsible for the death of Edward's parents comes back and threatens to take away all he loves? Just when he thinks he has discovered something deeper than love with Bella, will it be snatched from his life once again?

Join historical Bella and Edward in this wonderfully written story by just-a-crazy-fanpire! What I love most about this fanfic is that each character has been given an immense amount of depth by the author. To adopt the writing style of the past is not an easy thing to do in the first place, and yet fanpire does an incredible job in not only doing that but also enabling the reader to connect with each of the characters. Your heart will definitely reach out to Edward for his troublesome past and to experience Bella thawing out his icy edges with the power of love is simply amazing. There are tons of historic/time period stories out there in the Twilight fandom, and let me tell you that this one is for sure in the top five of that category! Although the couple start out pretty rough in the beginning of the story, please have faith in the two because they do get their HEA (which makes all the angst in this story so worth the read!). You have to understand that they are from opposing families and not only do they have to learn to understand each other, but they also have to deal with their problematic pasts and need to face any future troubles. This story, that is written from a third-person's perspective, should not be missed at all. Laird Edward is waiting for you to check him out! ;D

Resisting Love consists of 27 chapters and 104,891 words. The story is rated M for lovely lemons and language.

"Small Bump" by thimbles 2

Posted by
(banner made by Bethany)

Twelve months ago, Bella Swan fell into a devastating depression after having a miscarriage. Losing the baby she and her fiancé Edward created together was simply too much for her to bear. Although Edward tried to offer her as much comfort as possible during this horrible time, his soon-to-be-wife never stopped to blame herself for the death of her unborn child. Now, a year later, Edward watches his love sleep peacefully next to him and notices the same glow and shine on her face that she also developed when she got pregnant so many months ago. And though he is pretty sure that Bella is expecting and he can't hardly contain his excitement, Edward shies away from talking to her about it as he is too afraid of her reaction. Certain that she should still be in the very early stages of her pregnancy, he begins debating on whether to let her figure it out by herself or not. But Bella beats him to it and confesses that she, too, thinks that she's expecting. The two see a doctor, who eventually confirms the pregnancy. The lovers find themselves both over the moon and full of fear. The thought of losing yet another child is unbearable for them, so Edward and Bella do everything in their power to avoid potential complications. However, both of them have the hope that this time, things will have a more positive outcome. But will everything go smoothly so that Edward and Bella will be able to add to their family?

Small Bump is a fantastic story if you are looking for close to no angst and lots of family fluff. Edward is so supportive in this fanfic that it won't take you long to fall for him. He is the epitome of Daddyward and absolutely to die for! Once again, thimbles has written a great fanfiction with a couple at its center that is incredibly strong, madly in love, and unbelievably eager to finally welcome their new baby. Furthermore, the story is pretty short and you will probably be able to get through it in one sitting. But let me warn you, you may develop the urge to read it again and again and again... Although the first chapter does include minimal amounts of angst in the flashbacks, that is all the seriousness/darkness this story has to offer. In fact, Edward and Bella's traumatic past makes the story all the more realistic and creates a certain kind of emotional bond between the readers and the characters. Small Bump is a sweet and romantic story that will without a doubt pull at your heart strings and make you fall in love with the characters from the start. So don't wait too long but get started on this amazing fic right away! :D

A Small Bump consists of 13 chapters and 54,718 words. The story is rated M for language and sexual references.

"Retribution" by lvtwilight09 (guest review by Erica) 0

Edward and Bella have been victims of major bullying in high school. From being punched in the face, to being beaten unconscious, they experienced every horror imaginable. Miraculously, however, the two managed to protect and care for each other until graduation, even though something unforgivable happened on that last day of school. Once they leave this phase of their lives behind, Edward and Bella decide to go to college and get married soon after. The scars from the past slowly start to fade away, yet the horrific memories never leave them completely. So when they receive a letter, ten years later, informing them about a high school reunion, the two cannot help but yearn for revenge. So they decide to go down the wrong road, but they soon have to realize that sometimes, getting even is simply not enough - sometimes, all you need is retribution!

This short fanfic is a very dark and heart-felt story about two people, who are so tortured in school that they have no choice but to go down the bad road. lvtwilight09 portrays the situation of students, who can't seem to do anything about their terrible treatment - especially if there is higher force involved that is supporting the bullies themselves - amazingly well. Though the story is extremely graphic (and you will know what I mean when you read just the first sentence) the great thing about it is that it has such a realistic plot-line. It shows people that there are many people like Edward and Bella out there. They turn for the worst, even if that means killing others brutally, because of what they went through. And when you read the story, you realize that the two are not really as mean as they seem to be, but because of their intricate past, they have turned into what they are now. All they do is finally giving back what they have gotten for years. I really love this fic, it is one of my favorites, and I encourage you all to read it, too despite it's uncomfortable and gory moments at times. Because ultimately, the story implies a great inner message that everyone in our world should be aware of. A unique, but definitely a worthwhile fanfiction!

Retribution consists of 20 chapters and 31,642 words. The story is rated MA for language, sex,  and violent, gory, and graphic scenes. Read if you dare!

Because what a crazy bunch they are! The adorable newlyweds Edward and Bella, who are utterly in love and, not to mention, very horny, are exposed to the Swans unique... well, let's just say personalities. There is a sociopath for a father, an uncle with absolutely no verbal filter, and a few meddling aunts who are curious about everything going on in the couple's marriage. And so the weekend turns into a one of a kind escape - especially because everyone seems to be obsessed with Bella and Edward’s sex life!

This drabble story made us laugh out loud and groan in embarrassment at the same time. Although Swan Escape is a lighthearted story and meant to be funny, you can't help thinking about all of your own family members that you (thankfully) only see during the holidays and who drive you completely mad! So you can imagine what the two lovebirds go through while seeing their families every single day. But don’t worry, Bella and Edward take it all in stride; even though there are a few rough patches found in the fanfic, their patience is endless - something we don’t think we would have been able to get through [luckily we are not in that situation] without busting someone’s nose (and trust us when we tell you that we are not the kind to throw punches!)!. This story is a must read, and even has a sequel that is currently being posted - so keep an eye out for it! ADADancer brings about situations with a dash of realism and lots of humor. And knowing that she has based the story on her own personal experience and life, makes us admire her even more! So don't miss out on this wonderful story and be warned: drinking and eating while reading this story should be strictly avoided - your computer screen will thank you!

Swan Escape consists of 19 chapters and a total of 9,912 words. The story is rated M for foul language and adult situations.

"Come Home" by samekraemer 0

 (banner made by Mina)

After a t-bone collision that put him in a coma for weeks, Edward Cullen doesn't remember the last year of his life. The terrible accident also ruined his career as a surgeon, a fact that turns him into an angry and grumpy young man. One of the things that confuse him the most is that he doesn't understand why  he has to be cared for by a mousy woman named Bella Swan, even though he can't stand her at all. Why his family allows her presence in his house is beyond him, but he was going to find out... Meanwhile, Bella is mourning the loss of the husband she once knew. A man who didn't even wait three days after his proposal to whisk her off to the courthouse and marry her; a man whom she lovingly called Elmer and who had named her Bugsy in return. She missed him terribly and she'd give everything she had to change those fateful 30 seconds that altered both of their lives irrevocably. But the only thing she really can do is fight for the one she loves, even if it means keeping up with Edward Cullen...

Come Home is a story for the angst lovers, and for those who have no qualms reading a very angry and nasty Edward. He treats Bella horribly, calls her names and at one point he even accuses her of trying to kill him with an overdose. But don’t be fooled, this is definitely a love story - one told through Bella’s eyes and her memories. Little by little, you will discover the bond that unites this cranky man to this patient woman and once you find out, your heart will break for them.

One of the things we like the most about this short fic is how the writer combined the good times with the bad times - compacting them to one coherent story. Bella’s flashbacks help you get to know the love story before the tragedy, and it'll make you root for the crossed lovers till the end. We can’t promise you will like the journey because, like real life, some bad things must happen before the good stuff comes along. It’s all part of the growth process. Both Bella and Edward have lost themselves along the way, and they need time to grow and embrace the new persons they have become. But there is one thing we can promise you, and that’s a happily ever after, just don’t stop reading. You will thank us later. ;)

Come Home consists of 11 chapters and a total of 35,728 words. The fanfiction is rated M for mature language and sexual situations.

"Let's Love Hate" by Foreverx17 0

(banner made by Mina)

Edward and Bella grew up together. They were childhood friends, high school and college sweethearts, and eventually got married. After Edward recieves an internship for a law firm, he and Bella move from Washington to New York where Bella soon manages to find a job in journalism. But on their three-year wedding anniversary, a huge misunderstanding tears them apart. Both being too stubborn and too hurt to communicate properly, they decide that divorce is the only option. Three months later a squealing Alice calls Bella telling her that Jasper finally proposed. She asks her to be the maid of honor and also confesses that Edward is going to be Jasper's best man. Furthermore, Alice wants Bella and Edward to fly home a month before the big day to be able to help to get everything set for the wedding. The big problem? Apart from the couple itself, no one knows about Edward and Bella's separation and planned divorce. So in order not to overshadow Alice's wedding with bad news they decide to pretend to be happily married...

But having to fake a happy relationship is harder than they both expected. They argued too much behind closed doors, emotions are all over the place, and too many words and feelings were left unmentioned. And so it is that a particularly intense argument is overheard by Rose and Emmett. All four agree to keep the truth from everyone else, at least until the wedding is over, yet Rose and Em don't intent on accepting their decision to divorce. In fact, they plan to do everything in their power to make the couple see how madly in love they actually are. So both of them put Bella and Edward in hilarious situations in the hopes of making them see the good that is right in front of them. Amongst other things, there are attempts to let them have drunken sex and a game of Truth or Dare. Over the weeks, Bella and Edward have more and more difficulties finding out whether they are still faking to be happy together or if they actually are. Unsure about what the other feels, the two lose themselves in a whirlwind of emotions, hopes, and fears, and it isn't until a banquet thrown in honor of Emmett's work that Edward finally realizes that he still loves Bella more than anything else. And hell, she had to know!

Warning: set aside a good chunk of time. I personally couldn't put this down till half way through, and even then, I had to pry my tablet out of my hands. If you're a reader who can't put down a fanfic until there is some kind of relief, I can promise you that said relief comes right in the middle of the story. Let's Love Hate is wonderfully written - with a good amount of angst, romance, and lot's of humor. And don't worry it's not angst all the way through! Trust me, you'll be laughing with Emmett and Rose's antics and Jasper's dirty jokes! But nevertheless, your heart will also rip as you watch Edward and Bella in the first half of the story, though after, you'll melt into a much needed pile of romance goo. The story takes place during the one-month engagement, with the last one or two chapters being right after the wedding and the epilogue a few months later. I was only previewing this story to see if I should put it on my to be read list... let's just say all of a sudden I realized it was 2 am!

Let's Love Hate consists of 25 chapters and 177,995. The story is rated M for lemons and profanities.

"The Second Son of a Duke" by For3ver Immortal 0

Posted by Anonymous

Bella Swan thinks she is heavenly in love with Lord Jacob Black, the son of a baron. Even though she is the daughter of a viscont and would thus marry below her station if she was willing to accept his proposal, the 19-year-old woman couldn't care less. For her, Lord Black is everything she ever hoped for in a man and she couldn't wait to become his wife. It is the night of Lady Lovejoy's soiree when Bella decides that it was time to finally give her lover everything a woman has to give. She hastily scribbles down a note and sends a butler to bring it to Lord Black. Just moments later the same butler gets another note, this time written by Lady Alice Cullen, who requests that it be delivered to her brother Edward. And even though the poor servant tries to remember which note belongs to whom, a run-in with a waiter makes him mix up the two. And so it happens that not Lord Black but Lord Edward Cullen, second son of Duke Carlisle Cullen and well-known womanizer enters Bella's chamber that night. In the dark, no one sees the other, but the intense pull they feel along with a passion and caress they have never encountered before make Bella believe she is giving herself to Jacob and Edward that he is in the arms of another one of his courtesans...

Of course, when they wake up the next morning, chaos ensues. Edward is shocked that he not only slept with a woman he doesn't know (even though she is the most beautiful and exquisite thing he'd ever seen) but that she also is not a common whore but rather the daughter of viscont Swan. And so he does what needs to be done in order to save the honor of both his and Bella's family: he agrees to marry her. For Bella that is the most horrible thing that could ever have happened to her. Instead of her beloved Jacob she is forced to become the wife of Edward, a man who, though strikingly handsome, was widely known for sleeping around. After the marriage Edward takes Bella home where she receives a less than friendly welcome. She hates her husband for everything he is and is unwilling to forget Jacob with whom she plans to run away. Yet over time, the young woman realizes that Edward is not the snobby and heartless man she thought he was but rather caring and sweet instead. They get closer and closer to each other until the moment when Bella knows she couldn't leave her husband for the world...

What a wonderful story! The Second Son of a Duke is written from a third-person's perspective and thus allows the reader to get inside the head of almost every important character in the story (even though Edward and Bella are given the most attention). Unlike in many other stories like this, it is not Edward who behaves irrationally and longs for the arms of another but Bella. One is inclined to feel bad for Edward as he really tries everything in his power to make her life as easy and comfortable as possible. It is heart-warming to see how the two get to know each other and how they deal with the arising feelings of love between them. I have to admit that I skipped the two or three scenes between Bella and Jacob but only because I don't like her kissing other men. ;-) Instead I indulged in the wonderful lemons the author included in her fanfic! Apart from one plot twist (involving pirates), For3ver Immortal managed to write a convincing and incredibly intoxicating story that you would be a fool to miss!

The Second Son of a Duke consists of 24 chapters and a total of 109,048 words. The story is rated MA for graphic lemons.

"Contractually Bound" by LyricalKris 0

Posted by Anonymous

When Edward and Bella were young all they wanted was to get married, go to Dartmouth together, find their dream jobs (in his case that meant opening a successfull business; in her case it meant becoming a scientist), buy a house, and live happily ever after with their 2.5 children and dogs. Alas, life is like a chocolate box and you never know what you get; Bella and Edward break up and their bubble bursts from one day to the next.
Now, eight years later, things are not at all the way they were supposed to be. Instead of sitting in a lab and working on getting the next Nobel prize, Bella stayed in Forks and works in a local diner as a cook. Her tiny apartment is on the floor above the restaurant and though she keeps it clean and neady, all furniture is covered with a slight grease film. Nevertheless, the young girl makes the best of her situation and works hard every day. After years, she finally managed to save enough money to allow her to enroll at a community college. Remember the chocolate box? Yes, it only takes one knock at the door to ruin all of Bella's plans in an instant. Again.

Because walking into her small apartment is no other than Edward; that is, an angry and cold version of the Edward she came to love as a teenager. Bella learns that Edward's mother Esme is terminally ill and only has a couple of months left. Esme has always been a defender of Bella and knows in her heart the she and her son are destined to be together. So instead of doing the things she enjoys, Edward's mother constantly worries about her son and the cold demeanor he put on after Bella left. She wants for nothing more than for him to forgive the young woman and getting back together with her. And that is why Edward hands Bella a contract he demands (!) her to sign - it's the least she can do after all the hurt she caused, isn't it? The contract defines that Bella has to marry Edward and to pretend to happily in love with him - at least for as long as Esme is still alive. Without hesitatition Bella signs, but she had no idea how difficult and painful her life with Edward would be...

Contractually Bound is immensely realistic! As LyricalKris says: "I believe in HEA, I just [also] believe in making my characters work for it!" And having to work for it, they do! Edward is horribly cruel to Bella throughout a good third of the story. All the frustration he has - the unhappiness with his job and current place of living (NYC), the fear of losing his mother, and the hatred he harbors for his ex-girlfriend - all of this he throws at Bella with a passion! It was not easy for me to read, but it occured to me numerous times while doing it anyway that this is what real life is like. So don't expect cute makeout sessions, at least not until the last five chapters. This story is not about lemons, and dirty talk, or tons of fluff. This story is about two people who love each other so much that they cannot let the other go, even though it hurts like hell. Contractually Bound is a dramatic story, but wonderfully written. Last but not least, I'd like to mention that LyricalKris picked up the plot from other authors (GinnyW 31 and sshg316 - they had already written the first four chapters) and for that all I can say is "Chapeau!"

Contracutally Bound consists of 23 chapters and 82,259 words. The story is rated M for angst and reference to sexual activities.

"Break In The Clouds" by AnotherPen 0

Edward Cullen's life has hit a dead end. His marriage has fizzled out, he can't even stand to be in the same room as his wife Lauren anymore and his job was as boring as it was unfulfilling. Bella Cullen's life is stuck without a light at the end of the tunnel. Her husband, Carlisle is more married to his job than his own wife. Bella's constant battle with her weight is an issue that always sets the tone in her home life. Carlisle is all about image and Bella fails to make the mark. Both Edward and Bella are tired of waking up to the same depressing cycles everyday. They're both dying for a spark--any spark at all--to help make life worth living again.

One night while sitting around the table with his guys, Edward is shocked to see Bella enter the room alongside one of his buddies. Unable to hold in his resentment towards his estranged cousin Carlisle, Edward calls Bella a trophy wife and causes her abrupt exit. Following her to apologize he learns the truth about Bella's under appreciated treatment. With the arrival of a new Grove Online app that is supposed to bring all Grove employees together, Edward uses it to connect with Bella. Because the way Edward sees it, if Carlisle isn't going to take advantage of a good thing--Edward sure as hell will, and Bella? She's only too happy to oblige. A steamy affair starts up between the two and the spark they both wished for soon explodes into a full blown inferno.

When I first started this fic I was skeptic because I usually don't like to read fics with cheating but hot damn! The lemons are so good they wipe out any and all scruples I had to begin with. Seriously, bring a change of chonies when reading this one, it's that hot. This is a simple fic with a simple plot, but with great writing and steamy lemons, it is definitely a top ten read. Edward is crass and Bella is desperate, but it works because you can literally feel the shift between dead and alive when these two finally connect.

Break in the Clouds by AnotherPen consists of 32 chapters and 37,805 words. This fic is rated MA for graphic lemons and very adult content.

COMPLETE.

Little fact: this fic is actually written by CaraNo under the penname AnotherPen. I didn't know until the end and then I was like no wonder it was so good!

"The Mail Order Bride" by Lady Gwynedd 5

Posted by Anonymous

At the age of 19, Edward Cullen finally decides to escape the restraints of his life in Chicago and moves to the east coast. Not far from Denver, in Bear Valley, the young man buys a ranch. There, with the help of his many hands (including Cookie), Edward works often and hard and is soon able to live a decent and pleasant life. Yet there is one thing missing that would make Edward's life close to perfect - a wife. As the women of his immediate neighborhood and Denver don't interest him much, he decides to put a notice in the Matrimonial News. Edward looks for a woman with whom he can share the breathtaking nature of Colorado and with whom he would also be able to discuss his favorite poems and novels. So when, after weeks, one Isabella Swan replies to his advert, he is more than thrilled and excited. Because this woman seems to be all he only could have hoped for: wit, charme, humor, and, as he would later be able to see for himself, astounding beauty.

Ever since her mother died a couple of years ago, Isabella Swan lives a more than miserable life. As her brother and sister-in-law treat her like nothing short of a servant the place she once called home has become an unpleasant place for her. So when she stumbles upon a rather old newspaper with an intriguing advert, Bella doesn't hesitate and writes a letter to its author. And even though she never really expected to receive a response, her happiness is unrivaled when she does. It is the beginning of a long and intense correspondance between Bella and Edward until, finally, the latter asks her to come visit him in Denver. Not sooner said than done, 25-year-old travels all the way from Virginia to the east coast and is surprised by the man waiting for her at the train station. Edward Cullen is not only extraordinarily handsome but also intelligent and polite. And so, after only spending one day together, the two get married and Bella's ranch advanture is about to begin...

Among the many historic fanfics out there, The Mail Order Bride is one of the most popular ones. And rightfully so because Lady Gwynedd did not only come up with an interesting plot, but also managed to pepper said plot with many facts and trivia about life in the late 19th century. For example that women rarely knew what "becoming intimate" with a man really meant. Thus our sweet gentleman Edward has to illustrate the anatomical differences between the sexes to her and also explains the act in itself. It is a wonderfully written chapter and due to Bella's lack of knowledge also very funny. But once she knows the drill (no pun intended), she and Edward share many loving and passionate nights with each other. If you are already a fan of historic fanfictions, The Mail Order Bride will leave you completely satisfied. For all those of you, for whom this story might be a first, though, let me assure you that you will not only be greatly entertained but will also learn a lot about everyday life in the late 19th century.

The Mail Order Bride consists of 30 chapters and a total of 99,849 words. The story is rated M for lemons. Lady Gwynedd also published a prequel, Beginnings, and a sequel, Bear Valley Ranch.

"Training the Swan" by ericastwilight 1

Posted by Anonymous

Edward Cullen is retired, at the age of 28. He used to work for mob boss Charlie Swan, delivering packages, beating the crap out of others and ocassionally killing people. But soon he begins to feel exhausted and strained and asks his boss to allow him to step back. Because of his exceptional fighting skills Edward is from then on responsible for training new thugs and goons. And he SO isn't prepared when his boss tells him to train his daughter Bella.

Finally, after years of terrible abuse by her husband, Bella Swan manages to take her daughter Elizabeth and run away. She turns to her father Charlie, who promises to help. In order for Bella to feel safer and be able to protect herself and Ellie, she is sent to Edward. The two are instructed to remain a strictly professional relationship and keep their hands off each other. So they spend hours in the training room, sparring, and kicking the hell out of each other while pretending to be married and the parents of Ellie. Things are getting a lot more complicated when both Bella and Edward feel an irresistable draw towards one another...

This story is full of lemony goodness, let me tell you. Though Bella and Edward aren't allowed to get close to each other, that doesn't mean that they cannot fantasize and *cough* take matters into their own hands. But apart from all the sexualized scenes in Training the Swan, the story is also very funny and thrilling. There are a couple of unexpected twists and turns that will keep you glued to the pages. Last but not least, there is something unbelievably sexy about Edward training Bella and being Charlie's right hand. Read it!

Training the Swan consists of 50 chapters and 205,748 words. The story is rated MA for profanities, violence, and lemons. If you're under the age of 18, I'll advise you not to read the fanfiction!

"A Hope Renewed" by Hopesparkles 0

Posted by Anonymous

As the new owner of Collingsworth Edward Cullen decides to visit all the hands he employs and introduce himself. When he arrives at a small cottage a young woman is making her way down the ladder she had put against the house. Loosing her balance she falls right into Edward's arms. And then, two things happen simultaneously: one the one hand, Edward notices the enormous beauty of the woman whose waist he is currently touching and on the other an angry man with a rifle stomps right towards the him.

Four years ago, Charles Swan was the owner of Collingsworth and considered a person of high standing. Now, he and his daughter Bella had to live in a small old house at the borders of their former estate and can hardly get their hands on enough money to buy food. To make matters worse, Charlie has been suffering from dementia for quite a while. While Bella tries to do her best to care for her father he still thinks they live the glamorous life of the upper class. So when he finds Edward and Bella in what appears to be a rather intimate embrace he naturally demands that the man better make an honorable woman out of his daughter and forces him to marry her. Suddenly, Bella finds herself becoming the mistress of the estate she had to leave so many years ago and discovers feelings for her husband that scare her to death...

I had a lot of objections to stories taking place in the past. From time to time, however, I dare to give them a try and often I am surprised to find a real treasure! A Hope Renewed is set during the Regency era, wonderfully written and full of fluffly moments. Edward is just how we want him - perfect. He literally worships the ground Bella walks on and introduces her to the secrets of lovemaking! Hopesparkles makes sure to add some tensions and dramatic moments which means that it is close to impossible to put the fanfic down. If, just like me, you avoided reading stories that are not set in the 21st century I'd like to encourage you to give them a chance - you might be pleasantly surprised!

A Hope Renewed consists of 18 chapters and 141,088 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities.

"Give in to Temptation" by jaxon22 0

She is married. She lives in a beautiful house. With her husband. Their three-year-old son. And dog Max. But when Bella Black is approached by the most handsome man she has ever seen, she can't say no. It doesn't help at all that, in addition to his adonis-like physique, Edward Cullen is also smart, gentle, and understanding. And he's married as well.

Drawn to each other by some otherworldly power - a desire so deep that, for the lives of them, they can't resist, Edward and Bella spend a wild and tender night together. But what happens the next morning?

Trust me, you wouldn't wanna miss out on that perfectly written one-shot by jaxon22! It's full of lemons, really sweet moments and the ever-present question: Will Bella leave her husband for Edward? Does she even have to?

Give in to Temptation is a one-shot and consists of 18,706 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities.

"All the Presidents Men" by Shahula 0

Posted by Anonymous

In the rare moments when Presiden Cullen allows himself to take a breath and think about the last couple of years, the only things he finds are pain, sorrow, and uncertainty. Because four years ago, his wife Bella never returned from a business trip to Arizona. The mother of his beautiful little daughter Beth spend some time raising money for her husband's campaign but disappeared on her way to the airport. Just like that. No trace of a body, no evidence for a crime

Once elected into office, Edward creates a special task force that is supposed to investigate Bella's case. And finally, after having almost lost hope, the President's head of security, Emmett McCarthy, informs him that his wife had been found - in Kodiak, Alaska.
Unfortunately though, the First Lady, who is now blond and has a slight tan, has no recollections of her past with Edward. As Charlotte Byrd she started a new life, works in a bookshop and owns a small bakery. And one day, her life is once again turned upside down when taken by the CIA to meet the President of the United States.

All the President's Men is a wonderful piece of fiction by the talented Shahula. I love me some Presidentward! Wohoo, our Edward is such a sweet and loving father and husband it almost hurts to read it. Even though his wife is not the same woman he met, he falls for her nonetheless. Of course, these two are soul mates, right?
The story's chapters are relatively short and always include a little (and usually freaking cute) snippet of the past. This way, the reader easily manages to get an impression of both the "old" and the "new" Bella and can understand that it hurts Edward to know that she can't remember any of it.

All the President's Men consists of 30 chapters and a total of 61,617 words. The story is rated T and thus suitable for readers age 15 and older.

"Wintersong" by SydneyAlice 0

Posted by Anonymous

At this point I usually give you a short summary about the story. In this case, however, it is really difficult to describe what the fanfiction is about without giving away too much. I guess it is safe to say that Edward and Bella are married and have a five-year-old daughter. The story is written from Edward's point of view - it seems as if he is writing a letter to his wife... That alone probably tells you that Bella isn't with Edward at the time the story begins, and the question is, where is she? And, will she be home for christmas?

I cannot even begin to describe my feelings after I've finished this one-shot. In a nutshell: it is P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Wonderful plot, beautifully written, and so heartbreaking and romantic it brought tears to my eyes! SydneyAlice's writing gets better and better and so far, this is the best I've read by her! Trust me, you wouldn't want to miss it!

Winter Song is a one shot and consists of 4,524 words. The story is rated T and thus suitable for teens over the age of 13.

Note: The fanfiction was inspired by the song with the same name. Click here to listen to the original version by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson.
