Bella Swan hasn't been dealt the best hand of cards in life. At seventeen, she found herself pregnant, alone, and practically homeless until her friend Alice takes her under her wing. For almost two years, Bella raised her son without the help of his father or her family. She's done everything within her power to support the two of them, even if it meant selling her body for a night to the highest bidder. That's also how, one day, she meets the mysteriously handsome Edward Cullen. He's only interested in the perks of a relationship without the emotional aspect of one, which is fine to Bella as she doesn't have any desire to let a man into her life. However, it seems that the universe has different plans...

Edward Cullen is a busy working man, who doesn't have the time or the interest for a relationship. Still, he wants the sexual release he would only receive with a woman. He'd been fine with one-night-stands until he runs into Bella on the street, where he offers to pay her to spend the night with him. And she does. Once he's gotten a taste of her, he does anything it takes to make sure she remains "faithful" to him throughout the arrangement, including going into her home and interacting with her son. Bella finds herself in a world of trouble as her son's attachment to Edward increases. Though they had sworn to keep their hearts out of the arrangement, it's not something they can fight off; nor do they want to.

I should start by saying that this Bella is very different from how she was portrayed in the books: she's tougher and far from bashful as she hasn't had the best life and was treated harshly by her family and those she considered to be friends. And Edward isn't like his original counterpart either as he is a jerk more often than not, and definitely not virginal. This story is a slow burn but is guaranteed to make you laugh and, for the more emotional readers, even shed a tear or two. It is beautifully written with minimal grammatical errors and really tugs at the heart strings. It's mostly told in Bella's point of view yet with a few from Edward's and one from Jacob's.

Bella Swan is a talented painter, who has just began to make a name of herself and started showing her artwork in a few galleries. But since she is unable to make a living from the little she earns with her craft, she has decided a few years ago to work as a high-class escort. She is employed at the company of her best friend Alice, who makes sure that Bella only takes on the wealthiest and most respectable clients. As discretion is a top-priority, famous men often find themselves contacting Alice's service and one day, she gets a call from none other than Emmett Cullen, brother and chief of staff of the current President of the United States, Edward Cullen. Edward has lost his wife years ago and ever since he climbed the polictical ladder all the way up to the White House, he has hardly had any chance of getting close to a woman - in any kind of way. So Emmett asks for one of Alice's best escorts and soon brings Bella, a.k.a Annabelle to see the most powerful man in the world...

When they meet at the presidential suite at a five-star hotel, Edward and Bella just click. They are compatible - intellectually and sexually - and spend a passionate and erotic night together during which Bella notices that she likes being with the President a lot more than she should. She gets attached to the handsome man and has difficulties saying goodbye at the end of the night. And she isn't the only one because Edward requests seeing "his" Annabelle again and again, until he eventually asks her to stay with him at his house at the Hamptons for the weekend. The time they spend together is nothing short of magical: they have sex pretty much everywhere and talk for hours on end. They get closer and closer with each other and realize that they are already in way over their heads. Still, Edward's position as the American President forces them to keep their "relationship" hidden. If word came out that Edward Cullen had an affair with a prostitute, he could kiss his reelection goodbye - and that would be the best case scenario. Knowing that, Bella panics when she finds out that she is pregnant with Edward's baby and leaves him and her love for him behind...

This wonderful story by rushed was inspired by smmiskimen's wonderful story The Presidential Treatment. Yes, there is something utterly fascinating about Edward being the U.S. President, maybe because of all the power, responsibility, and prestige that this position entails. In The American President, Edward is charming and lovable (and of course incredibly hot), yet also driven by reason and his emotions. Bella on the other hand is feisty, confident, and absolutely okay with her chosen profession until the moment she falls head over heels for the President. Both of them know that they are madly in love with the other, yet are too proud or insecure to admit it. They find themselves in a truly precarious situation and the solution that is presented by rushed is plausible and realistic. The story is written from both Edward's and Bella's POV and even though the fic still has no epilogue, The American President is definitely complete with a very satisfying ending. With regards to the lemons in this story, well let me just say that there are a lot of them (especially in the beginning) and they are tastefully yet graphically written. You will definitely enjoy reading them!

The American President consists of 85 chapters and 131,490 words. The story is rated MA for graphic lemons, foul language, and some angst.

Edward Cullen is a hard-working doctor, who has his life planned out right from very beginning. Well, his working life at least. At his thirty years of age, he’s still single and not exactly the dating type of guy, which is why his best friend Garrett decides to take him out on his birthday. Knowing his best friend, Edward prepares for the worst, and his fears are confirmed when they pull up right outside a strip club. Edward reluctantly goes inside the club, hoping to somehow just get the night over with and determined to try to forget it ever happened the next morning. But what he finds inside will be something, or rather, someone, who will change his life forever...

You Came Around is a story told in alternating points of view. You get to hear from Edward first - how boring his life is outside of work and how he only reluctantly goes to the strip club - and then we get to meet Bella Swan, a young girl struggling to make ends meet and finding herself in the most degrading job just so she can eat. What neither of them expected was to find exactly what they have been craving for inside that dark club. It takes a bit of time, but in the end, neither of them is able to fight the pull they feel for each other.

This is a sort of knight-in-shining-stethoscope kind of Edward and damsel-in-distress kind of Bella, but we liked how Edward helps Bella without having any expectations and absolutely no pressure. Their age difference causes a bit of an obstacle for Edward in the beginning, but eventually he realizes that age is just a number and if anyone has issues with it, then they aren’t worth keeping in his life. We enjoyed hearing from both perspectives, even though they are a bit repetitive sometimes, and the story in general paints a clear picture on who Edward and Bella are as persons. We find out about Bella’s awful past and Edward’s reason for not dating. The pace is good, though the relationship might move a bit too fast. Then again, when you know, you know, and Edward certainly knows what he wants. Go check out awish0921’s story and get ready to be swept off your feet by this sweet Docward.
