"The American President" by rushed

Bella Swan is a talented painter, who has just began to make a name of herself and started showing her artwork in a few galleries. But since she is unable to make a living from the little she earns with her craft, she has decided a few years ago to work as a high-class escort. She is employed at the company of her best friend Alice, who makes sure that Bella only takes on the wealthiest and most respectable clients. As discretion is a top-priority, famous men often find themselves contacting Alice's service and one day, she gets a call from none other than Emmett Cullen, brother and chief of staff of the current President of the United States, Edward Cullen. Edward has lost his wife years ago and ever since he climbed the polictical ladder all the way up to the White House, he has hardly had any chance of getting close to a woman - in any kind of way. So Emmett asks for one of Alice's best escorts and soon brings Bella, a.k.a Annabelle to see the most powerful man in the world...

When they meet at the presidential suite at a five-star hotel, Edward and Bella just click. They are compatible - intellectually and sexually - and spend a passionate and erotic night together during which Bella notices that she likes being with the President a lot more than she should. She gets attached to the handsome man and has difficulties saying goodbye at the end of the night. And she isn't the only one because Edward requests seeing "his" Annabelle again and again, until he eventually asks her to stay with him at his house at the Hamptons for the weekend. The time they spend together is nothing short of magical: they have sex pretty much everywhere and talk for hours on end. They get closer and closer with each other and realize that they are already in way over their heads. Still, Edward's position as the American President forces them to keep their "relationship" hidden. If word came out that Edward Cullen had an affair with a prostitute, he could kiss his reelection goodbye - and that would be the best case scenario. Knowing that, Bella panics when she finds out that she is pregnant with Edward's baby and leaves him and her love for him behind...

This wonderful story by rushed was inspired by smmiskimen's wonderful story The Presidential Treatment. Yes, there is something utterly fascinating about Edward being the U.S. President, maybe because of all the power, responsibility, and prestige that this position entails. In The American President, Edward is charming and lovable (and of course incredibly hot), yet also driven by reason and his emotions. Bella on the other hand is feisty, confident, and absolutely okay with her chosen profession until the moment she falls head over heels for the President. Both of them know that they are madly in love with the other, yet are too proud or insecure to admit it. They find themselves in a truly precarious situation and the solution that is presented by rushed is plausible and realistic. The story is written from both Edward's and Bella's POV and even though the fic still has no epilogue, The American President is definitely complete with a very satisfying ending. With regards to the lemons in this story, well let me just say that there are a lot of them (especially in the beginning) and they are tastefully yet graphically written. You will definitely enjoy reading them!

The American President consists of 85 chapters and 131,490 words. The story is rated MA for graphic lemons, foul language, and some angst.
