Isabella Swan is an orphan who has been living in Seattle with her older sister since she was eleven years old. Though she has spent years working as one of the three assistants for local architect, Edward Masen, she's been wanting to put her nursing degree to use and become a hospice nurse. When she gets a call from a hospice agency to care for a terminally ill cancer patient, she quits her job, packs her bags, and goes to Forks. Upon arriving, she meets Carlisle Cullen and his wife. She's told their son may be arriving to the house, but nobody mentions his name and she doesn't see pictures of said son. To her surprise, the Cullen's son is none other than her former boss - Edward Masen. Regardless of the tension between them, she pushes forward and focuses on caring for Esme - who can see they're meant to be.

Edward Masen has always been one to focus on his accomplishments and put personal relationships on the backburner. He runs a successful architecture firm in Seattle and is dependent on his three assistants. Isabella Swan happens to handle his calendar and he's been attracted to her since she started working at the firm. When she quits on him, saying he's pissed off would be an understatement. But, when he gets a call from his dad saying his mother's health is deteriorating, he forgets about everything at work at leaves for Forks. Imagine his surprise when Isabella Swan is the live-in hospice nurse that has been assigned to his mother. Though nothing could surprise him more than his feelings for her, especially the possibility of falling in love with her. And when Esme dies, will he be able to let his guard down and trust his feelings for Bella?

I don't have the words to describe just how much I love this story. It's a beautifully written story, with little to no grammatical errors and it has a great pace. Lean on Me is written in third person point of view, so you'll get to have a peek into everyone's thoughts and what they're going through. It is a slow burn - though Edward and Bella's attraction is noticeable from the start, it does take time for their relationship to develop, and the lemons are amazing! Granted, there are moments where you'll want to tear your hair out but you'll also have moments where you can't stop laughing or crying. I must also say that Lean on Me is a tearjerker so keep tissues near you... I know I had trouble reigning the waterworks in.

Lean on Me is complete. It consists of 19 chapters and 56,222 words. It's rated M for foul language and sexual content.
