Tortured professor, Edward Cullen is barely surviving his days. Grief-stricken over his long lost wife Maggie, he struggles to go through the daily motions of life. He focuses on his work as a professor who teaches historic literature, and otherwise ignores everyone around him - including family. When he walks in to introduce himself to yet another freshmen class, he does not expect for a certain Isabella Swan to walk into his class as a student. It's not her... it's her face that haunts him - because her features line up to be the exact same as his late wife. That same face that haunts his dreams everyday and that same face that belonged to his wife that broke his heart by ending her life by choice. So in turn his anger lashes out at Bella, who has no idea about the weird, yet intense, behaviors of his broken professor. But what happens when Edward realizes that he is starting to fall for Bella, and not because of her face, but because of her beautiful and unique heart? Will Bella understand him and give love back?

Barely Breathing is a heart-felt story that will definitely have you hooked. Written in both perspectives, the fanfiction will give you a full opinion from our characters and make it sound more whole. I will not lie, the story is angst-filled, but don't let that stop you from delving right in. You will definitely feel for Edward here, because the man has gone through very hard times, and although you may not agree with his initial thoughts about Bella, you can easily understand the confusion and constant turmoil going on in his head. Chocaholic123 has made the story extremely realistic, both in terms of Edward life's and that of Bella's. There are many emotions evoked in this one fanfiction, but dislike is so not one of them. Please don't be hesitant to read this story - you will be surprised how much you actually like it, especially if you already are an angst-lover. Do give it a try, you will actually be able to finish it pretty fast!
