A strong blizzard is on the
way when Bella Swan hurriedly packs all her bags, loads them into her car, and
flees from her life with Jacob Black. Though her relationship with the young
man started out as amazingly romantic, with Jacob pulling off his charms and
sweeping Bella off her feet, it took a turn for the worse in no time. When
Bella’s career as a writer began to blossom, Jake started showing his darker
side, physically abusing her. After weeks of being beaten, Bella finally has
enough and leaves. She sets out on the snowy London roads and is on her way to
the cottage her grandmother left her when she died. On her way, however, she
passes what looks like a young boy, loitering on the frozen streets. Despite
her inner warnings, Bella stops her car and allows the guy to hop in. She
discovers that the boy is actually a handsome man, who, despite his young age
he has been homeless for a long time now due to his tragic past. With the
blizzard on the way, Bella decides on a whim to take the man - or Edward as he
introduces himself - to the cottage with her…
Over the next few days (Bella asks Edward to stay until the snowstorm subsides), the two of them discover a lot about each other. Though Bella is almost ten years older than Edward, they realize that they have a lot in common, especially in terms of heartbreak. Moreover, Edward is very mature for his age, something that makes the young woman fall for him in no time. The feeling is mutual and so, soon the two form a life and love together that neither of them expected to find. And when, with the help of their neighbors Alice and Jasper, Edward and Bella manage to find successful jobs, things seem to be more than great. The ex-homeless man begins working as a sous chef at a five-star restaurant while Bella is able to start writing a novel while also spending lots of time at Alice’s bookstore. But what happens when their pasts catch up to them and reality becomes too hard? Will their love be strong enough to concur all?
Where Roads Converge is an amazing story that had me hooked from the very first chapter! Fluffyliz is a really commendable writer and has created a mind-blowing story that is to die for! The idea of an Edward who is so much younger than Bella may initially seem odd, but as you read on and discover just how grown up he is and how much he’s been through in his nineteen years, you realize that he is much more, if not an equal to Bella in terms of maturity. That being said, the story is rated MA for the shocking pasts that both Edward and Bella have gone through. Edward’s story especially brought tears to my eyes, something that rarely happens to me - and that alone probably says how much of a fantastic story this is. A fanfic that is entirely set in today’s London, which FluffyLiz manages to portray in a very realistic manner. I’m sure, you will fall in love with broken Chefward as well as with Bella, whom you cannot help but feel sorry for because of her abusive past. As a reader you’ll find yourself encouraging the two in listening to what their hearts tell them and commit to a strong relationship. Add the EXTREMELY intense lemons to that and you have a MUST READ! This fic has it ALL and you will regret it deeply if you don’t read it!!!
Where Roads Converge consists of 25 chapters and 125,139 words. The story is rated MA for sexual references, language, and mature content.
