One fateful day, Bella Swan is at the wrong place at the wrong time and watches a man getting brutally murdered. Before she knows it, she finds herself being kidnapped by the criminals responsible for the killing and realizes quickly that her life now lies in the hands of mafia boss Edward Cullen. Although many of his colleagues suggest otherwise, Edward decides to spare Bella's life and keep her hostage. For two years, the young woman is held against her will, away from her family, and forced to live a life she doesn't want. Even though Edward makes it a habit to check on her every few hours, he refuses to delve into a single line of information about his business and her fate. Over time, Bella develops feelings for the rough and vioent hunk of a mob boss, despite the fact that he kills people for a living, has obvious anger management issues and is absolutely clueless about her feelings for him. How can she possibly hope for any kind of future with a man so void of emotions? Or does he feel something but tries to ignore it? His behavior toward her is definitely giving her whiplas as one minute he looks at her in an adoring way and the next he pulls at her hair, telling her to keep their secrets.What should Bella make of all that and what happens when Edward is forced to marry her?

JessAndTAT have written a beautiful story with an interesting plot line! The fanfiction will catch your attention from the very first sentence and you won't be able to stop reading until you reach the ending. The way Bella tries to soften Edward's hard demeanour is portrayed in a pretty emotional way. You will pray that Edward will eventually get his head out of his ass so that he sees that he can and should trust Bella, but his job forces him to be suspicious of everyone as as he can never know who will try to deceive him. Though there are some cringe moments in the story, where Edward's reactions seem a bit over the top, keep in mind that he has been living the life of a mob boss for a very long time and doesn't know better than to be angry and treating people unfairly. But don't worry folks, it isn't long until he finally realizes that Bella is meant to be in his life and that he loves her - a lot; and once he does, be prepared for a lot of hot lemons! The story is written from Bella's POV.

Reluctant Devotion consists of 25 chapters and 42,481 words. It is rated M for language, violence, and sexual activities.
