When Charlie Swan and his best friend and business partner Carlisle Cullen tie the knot with the loves of their life, their soon-to-be wives decide that their future children should one day get married. Yet things don't go quite as planned, because even though they once used to be best friends, at 17, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan seem to hate each other's guts and prefer to ignore the other instead of flirting. The two act more like brother and sister than potential lovers, despite the fact they both (secretly) feel an immense attraction for one another.
One day, however, things will irrevocably change for the two high school students. After classes are over, psychopath who intents to blackmail Charlie and Carlisle (the two run the biggest pharmaceutical company in the U.S.) kidnaps Edward and Bella and keeps them hostage for days...
Even though they are both treated well by their kidnapper, the extreme situation they find themselves in causes Edward and Bella to develop strong feelings for each other. They finally put aside their differences and even begin to talk about why they have grown apart so much and what happened to their once so strong friendship. The two soon become each other's protectors and Edward starts working on ideas about how to escape their horrible plight. If things go as planned, he will run off and find help as quickly as possible; if things fail, however, Edward makes Bella promise to stay strong and live a happy life - if she ever manages to get out of there. Will they both survive?
Kidnapped is written from Edward's point of view and definitely not for the faint-hearted. The story includes a lot of graphic violence and let's just say that the journey Bella and Edward have to take is rather shocking and traumatic. On more than one occasion you will most likely have to fight off the tears that are threatening to spill over. But don't let that keep you from reading this wonderful piece of fiction! Especially because it has a happy ending!
