Bella Swan's life is nothing short of monotonous, to put it mildly. Emotionally and physically scarred after her mother died in a tragic accident, Bella decides to escape the state of Mississippi where she had lived all her life. She runs away from everything that could have been her future, burying her friends, her college scholarship, and all her happy memories six feet under the ground - next to her mom. She arrives in Forks, Washington where her father Charlie lives and starts working at the local diner there. But life in Washington is not a lot easier than life in Mississippi: Bella has to work double shifts, live in a greasy apartment right above the restaurant with her stoic and somewhat-retired-police-officer father, and the constant cold and rain weather was right the opposite of what she was used to in her former home. When Charlie starts drinking out of grief for his late wife, Bella finds herself in a situation more unbearable than the one she escaped from.

So when Charlie forgets Bella's 19th birthday, she decides to drive to Port Angeles and have some quiet fun at a bar. What she didn't expect was the to stumble upon a barkeeper (who plays guitar AND sings!) with the most beautiful, velvety voice she had ever heard. Because of the weird pull she feels towards the sexy bartender with the disheveled bronze hair, Bella finds herself visiting the bar several times a week. She soon becomes friends with the our hot Edward as well as with Alice, Carlisle, and Jasper. Yet, the man she can't get out of her head doesn't seem to be what he appears to be. Bella hears rumors that Edward is not a safe person to be around with, yet despite distancing herself from him, she confronts the young man at his home. And what he tells her both surprises and overwhelms her and Bella notices that even after everything she had just heard, she was still head over heels in love with him. But what happens when she can't reciprocate and tell Edward her life story?

If you don't go right now and start reading this story, you will be missing out on the world Addicakes has created. Olympic Rain and Novocain will put you on a roller-coaster of emotions and your heart will desperately try to reach out in the hopes of being able to comfort both Edward and Bella. Yes, there might be many fanfics out there that are similar in terms of what the two have experienced in their past and the amount of angst, but trust me, this story still manages to surprise you. Not to mention immense amount of sexual tension going on between the two from the very first time they see each other; my goodness it will leave you panting! Furthermore, the Olympic Rain and Novocain is written in a very realistic manner and delivers an important message to all readers out there: running away from the hardships in your life is not the answer. In order to be able to continue living life to the fullest you have to face your fears. Edward and Bella both learn this moral throughout the story, and it is heart-warming to see the depth within their relationship growing and growing.This story will leave you awake at nights until you finally come to it's sweet end and leave you perspiring with its hot sexual content between the couple.
