"Hunky Sugar Daddy" by tinklove

A mother who doesn't seem to care about her and a stepfather who comes way to close for her comfort force Bella Swan to leave her home at the tender age of 18. And while in the beginning everything just works according to plan (she enrolls at the university of Seattle and manages to get a job in a bookstore) after only a couple of months, the young woman stands before the ruins of her life. With the economic crisis in full bloom, Bella loses her job, can't manage to repay her student loans and loses all governmental support after only six months of unemployment. If it weren't for her landlord and best friend Rose, Bella would live on the streets - now, she at least has a roof over her head (though she has no electricity, furniture, or clothes for more than two days).

On her birthday, Bella follows a yearlong tradition and goes to a café just around the corner of where she lives. There, she allows herself to buy a yummy yet relatively expensive cup of coffee from the little money she saved over the last months. Yet as she makes her way to find a table, a stunning but unfriendly young woman runs into her and spills the coffee. As the coffeeshop's manager is more interested in said ladies' boobs than the injustice done to Bella, the latter does not get a replacment for her spilled beverage and has no money left to buy a new one. Close to tears, Bella sits down and drowns herself in sadness but is surprised by sweet and friendly green eyes which stare right at her. Bella is immensely grateful and feels very attracted to the kind and handsome stranger. She is brought back to reality, however, when Edward leaves the shop with the stunning blonde and Bella has to remind herself that he is way out of her league.

The more suprising is what happens only a coupld of minutes later: Bella finds Edward and his female companion (Tanya) right in front of the shop argueing. Apparently, Edward is looking for a surrogate mother as he desperately wants to have children but has been unable to find the right woman so far. But as Tanya seems to like to mess around with other men, Edward cannot be sure whether the child she would carry was actually his; so he ends whatever (contractual) relationship they have. He then finds Bella staring right at them and offers her to buy some breakfast before explaing what is going on. Bella listens carefully, entranced by his voice and kindness, and simultaneously feels a strong pull towards him. And before she knows it she is asked whether she wants to be the woman to carry his child and without even thinking twice Bella says yes...

I had hard times putting this story away, which doesn't happen too often to me, let me tell you. This story has an Edward, who falls head over heels in love with Bella and literally worships the ground she's walking on. Bella, from whose perspective most chapters of Hunky Sugar Daddy are written, is absolutely oblivious to that and thinks that she's the only one carrying such deep feelings. Moreover, she constantly has to think about what happens once the baby is born and she would have to leave it along with Edward. The lemons in this story are really sweet, yet not overly graphic. Also, reading how the two look forward to have a baby together just makes your heart warm. And there is one more thing I'd like to point out: the prologue comes across as immensely dark and angsty as the reader has absolutely no idea what on earth made Bella make the decisions she made. But rest assured that 1) the story is, in general, angst-free (though there will be some drama) and 2) tinklove wrote a wonderful HEA for our beloved characters! So don't worry too much! ;-)
