Bella Swan is the new IT specialist at Cullen, Inc. One of her jobs is to monitor the internet usage of the employees and to make sure that only those websites are visited that are work-related. That's how Edward comes into play. He looked for a recipe (and a really bad one, according to Bella) and is promptly reprimanded by his colleague. They start a very witty email exchange and notice that they get along easily with each other. When Bella gets sick one day and can't make it to work, Edward decides to make sure that she has everything she needs and goes to her apartment...

This fanfiction is very unique - really a one of a kind. belladonna1472 and jennde wrote the first four chapters in the form of an email exchange and that in itself is a real challenge. Not only do the mails have to sound convincing and authentic, they also have to introduce the reader to the two main characters. Since there is neither a first-person nor a third-person narrator everything we know about Bella and Edward from the first four chapters comes from the emails they write. Both characters are very smart and funny which makes their correspondance very entertaining. Later on, when they get to know each other personally and Edward starts doubting his feelings for Bella the story develops some dramatic aspects as well. Nice job!

Dear Mr. Masen consists of 25 chapters and a total of 127,500 words. The story is rated T and thus suitable for teens over 13 years of age.
