Bella, Alice, Rose, Jasper, Emmett, and Edward have one thing in common: they lost their parents at an early age and were adopted by Esme and Carlisle Cullen.

From the moment Bella met Edward at the age of 13 he meant the world to her. Though Edward doesn't say much and spends more time reading and brooding than anything else, Bella knows him better than anyone else. She hides her growing feelings for him and hopes that one day he might feel the same. However, one fateful night together makes her believe the absolute opposite.

Though Edward regrets taking Bella's virginity in a drunken stupor, he can't stay away from her. And so, every year, for about a week around christmas, he'll sneak into Bella's room and hold her in his arms until the sun sets. Once Bella wakes up, he'll be gone and back to being the quiet and reserved man he used to be his whole life...

This story is full of drama and angst. You know that these two mean everything to each other and would like to kick their butts for not seeing it. More than once Edward and Bella have difficult and very heavy conversations, which often lead to angry tears and heartbreak. Yet, despite all the problems and misunderstandings, I can promise you that the two will eventually find a way to be with each other! Amazing story!

Tip: If you want to end the story with an "and they lived happily ever after"-feeling, I'd recommend to not read the epilogue. It's so bittersweet that it needs a tissue warning!

Footprints in the Snow consists of 17 chapters and a total of 37,464 words. The fanfiction is rated M for graphic descriptions of sexual activities. You should at least be 16 years old to read the story.
