"Marriage and other Catastrophes" by Angel-Miyu

Bella Swan thought she had escaped every tie she had to high society, and her family. She refused to go to the top schools her family wanted her to go to, majored in a less than desirable degree, and built her own publishing house. She was breaking the binds, and they didn't like it. Unfortunately for Bella, her grandfather had been the person who financed the start of Phoenix, and would stop at nothing to get his way. So, when she was told she must marry a stranger by the name of Edward Cullen, she outright refused. Well, until said grandfather threatened the publishing house she had worked for years to make successful. She found herself backed to a corner and, against her own desires, she agreed. She didn't want to marry for any other reason besides love, and she certainly didn't want to marry so her family could get access to the better and wealthier social circles in Boston.

Edward Cullen, on the other hand, was content with his shallow relationship with Tanya Denali. He and Bella had agreed, while discussing their prenuptial agreement, that Edward could maintain his relationship with Tanya as long as he was totally discreet and out of the public eye.  He agreed, not expecting to be charmed by this witty beauty. As a more personal relationship with his wife began to develop, and work overtook most of their time, Edward didn't get to spend as much time with his mistress as she would have liked. Tanya, who needed more of Edward's attention, began using more extreme tactics in order to get a reaction. Unfortunately for her, she only received negative attention from Edward, his wife, and his family in return. Even after Edward decided to break things of with Tanya, and chose to focus on building a relationship, there would always be forces trying to tear this couple apart.

Marriage and other Catastrophes has a wonderful plot, but there are many errors in grammar that can be distracting to some readers - I know I was tempted (more than once) to stop reading, but was so intrigued with the plot that I just had to finish. MaoC has moments where, as a reader, you're bound to be exasperated, laughing, and maybe even shedding some tears. Angel-Miyu has done a great job portraying Bella as such an independent woman, who refuses to take part of the lifestyle her family carries. Edward has his moments, as does every character - every person. There are times, when reading from his view, where the reader will likely want to punch him (*raises hand*) and shake some sense into him. There are many twists and turns in this story, and all loose ties come together in the end. Plus, there are plenty of lemons which will satisfy any reader.

Marriage and other Catastrophes consists of 38 chapters and 207,234 words. The story is rated M for foul language, violence, and lemons.
