Twenty-two
year old Bella Swan has worked very hard to get to where she is. At the moment, she works
under vice president Edward Cullen in the patient registration department
at Providence Medical Center in Portland. Bella’s had a crush on Mr. Cullen since she started working at PMC but only her best friend Tanya is
aware of her little infatuation. Eventually, Bella decides to take a risk and give into her attraction to Edward. The
two embark on what initially starts out as a physical relationship but slowly begins to develop
into a rather complicated relationship; a relationship they need to keep a secret
if they don't want to run the chance of losing their jobs...
Thirty-nine year old Edward Cullen is a divorced, single father. His days start and end with thoughts of Maggie, his sixteen-year old daughter. He had been married to Heidi until he found out about her having an affair with another man. In order to protect their daughter and privacy, Edward and Heidi mutually decided to keep the reason for their divorce a secret, yet once Maggie starts spinning lies to break her father and Bella apart, all is revealed. Meanwhile, being the spiteful and jealous woman that she is, Heidi threatens to tell the board about Bella and Edward’s affair as an act of revenge; believing that it was Edward who brought her affair to light. Will Edward and Bella's feelings be strong enough to overcome all this drama or will they lose their jobs and what could be a wonderful relationship instead?
Beyond the Break Room is a heartfelt story about love, friendship, and not letting go of what you truly believe in. Edward and Bella’s story is a bumpy one, with realistic obstacles a.k.a. spiteful exes and angry children who are hungry for attention. This is one of the first WIPs I followed and I loved every minute of it until the very end. I literally couldn’t wait for Discordia81 to update and read the next chapter. This is a fanfiction you don’t want to miss out on. It’s more of a slow burn but it’s sweet, sensuous, and HOT - filled with office lemons and everything. Discordia81 is such a talented writer and knows exactly how how she wants her characters to come across. It’s definitely worth the read. It’s written in Bella’s point of view, except for one outtake in Edward’s point of view. It’s very well written with little, if any, grammatical errors.
