"Devil's Angel" by obsessingoveredward

Edward Masen only values two things in life: his prized Harly Davidson and his monthly trips out of California to one of his beloved one-night-stands. Everything else in his life has been pretty mundane so far; his dream had always been to become a professional musician but his bubble quickly burst when his parents were murdered and their business was passed on to him. Along with his uncle Carlisle, Edward tried to continue successfully running C&M, yet being a business man had never been his thing. Scarred by the events of both his parent's death, Edward has made it a habit to never feel emotionally attached to anyone - that is, until he meets Bella Swan during one of his trips to Monterey. Even though both don't intend to start anything serious, they feel the immense pull towards each other. No one expects to see the other again, yet that is exactly what happens when Bella and her brother Emmett meet the new investor of their pub: Edward. Unable to fight the attraction any longer (even though Bella is still mad at Edward for leaving her the other night without saying goodbye), the two begin to form a relationship. And as much as Edward is afraid of the "r-word", for the first time he is willing to give it a try - his feelings towards his brown-eyed beauty are just too strong...

Just when Bella and Edward managed to figure things out between them, Edward's past suddenly comes back to haunt him. New clues about the murderer of his parents make him resume his own investigation. Together with Carlisle and his best friend Jasper, the young man is determined to finally put all the puzzle pieces together so that he will eventually find some closure. But the more he finds out, the more those near and dear to him are in danger. Is Edward's father really who he thought he was? Why were his parents killed and will he and Bella make it through all this chaos? Questions that only one man can answer, but will Edward be able to find him? Hold on tight because this fanfic is going to have you sitting at the edges and biting your nails! You will never know what will come next to jolt this roller-coaster of a story!

Obsessingoveredward is one of my favorite authors and reading this fanfic made me love her even more. She has intricately woven this story - each string holding a deep meaning. Every character has a significant role in the story, making it even more interesting to read. Seth, Emmett, Alice, and Bella are all portrayed as siblings in this fic and it is heart-warming to see the bonds and immense protection that they each have for one another. Everyone (!) has their significant pasts and everything ties in together at the very end of the story. There is definitely mind-blowing smut involved in this fanfic, but it does not overshadow the main plot; it just adds on to the multiple emotions created by the author. Although this fanfic was pulled two years ago, the author has given me her permission to post Devil's Angel as a pdf on MSB and I am honored to do so! I have no doubt that you will love this story as much as I do so give it try and I promise you, it will definitely be worth it!

Devil's Angel consists of 33 chapters (incl. one outtake) and a total of 178,782 words. The story is rated M for  language, violence, and sexual references.
