"From the Cup of Duty" by LadyExcalibur2010

Ever since his father passed away a few years ago, Edward is the king of his small country and responsible for thousands of people. With the help of his mother, Queen Esme, and his chief advisor Carlisle, the young man is able to manage the burden of being a monarch well, until now. Because at 28-years old Edward stumbles upon a problem he would rather like to overlook: he's in dire need of an heir. Needless to say, in order to have just that the current King needs to find a Queen first...

And not any Queen, no, she must come from a fruitful stock! Because for generations Edward's family, the Masens, have had utter difficulties in producing children, not to say sons. So Esme and Carlisle (who seem to get rather close) sent for dozens of young and attractive noble women, who could be to Edward's liking. Alas, they are either incredibly dull or couldn't be bothered to pick up a book. And this is where the Swans come in. Charles Swan, a baron on the northern borderland, and his wife Renee have three strong sons and one daughter. The fact that their ancestors have always produced many children makes both Carlisle and Esme hopeful that, should Edward marry the Swan's daugther, Isabella, it wouldn't be a long time coming until an heir arrived. So the lady in question and her family are invited to the court to attend a masquerade ball. It is there that the King and Isabella meet for the first time, ending in one more than smitten Edward (even though he doesn't like to admit it). The 16-year old is all he could have ever hoped for: strinkingly beautiful, immensely smart, polite, loving, and funny. Yet as he reveals his intentions to her, he does not expect to be rejected - he is the King after all! But Isabella doesn't want to be forced to marry, she wants her future husband to respect and love her. So now, King Edward has some serious wooing to do!

From the Cup of Duty is the perfect story if you need your regular dosis of history but don't feel up to reading hundreds of pages. The fanfic is relatively short, yet full of wit and sexual innuendoes. Because, let me make one thing clear: Edward is so horny! That means you're in for a very naughty story as From the Cup of Duty is, with the exception of one outtake, completely written from Edward's (lustful) POV. It is through him that the reader gets to know Charlie, Emmett, and Jasper, who are more than funny and maybe even a little crazy. A very good read!

From the Cup of Duty consists of 23 chapters and 75,939 words. The story is rated M for description of sexual activities.
