"Love Song" by elusivetwilight

While some teenagers cut their fingers and mix their blood with that of their closest friends, Edward and Bella do so to swear each other eternal love. Yet when Edward decides to leave his hometown Forks and Bella behind to start making a career as a professional musician, all promises are forgotten. What is left is a devastated Bella, who retreats into her own shell and hopes that one day, her lover will return. But unfortunately, he doesn't...
Seven years later, Bella Swan is a successful fiction writer. She publishes her novels under an alias and avoids as much human contact as possible. That changes when she hears her Edward's voice on the radio. Now a celebrated singer and songwriter, Edward presents his latest studio album to the world. He also explains that the first single, Bella, was influenced by a very special person. And before Bella knows what she's doing she asks her publicist to arrange an TV interview in New York-her only chance to let Edward know where she was and that she was still waiting...
What a wonderful one-shot! Yes, Edward screws up big time in the beginning - leaving Bella behind, broken and only a shell of her true self. And even though it takes him years to realize his mistake, once he finally does, Bella his all that matters to him. He wants her. Period. Their first confrontation and subsequent talk in his hotel room are as heartbreakingly beautiful as their first night together and the very ending of the story (probably my favorite part). Love Song is about a man, who listened to his head instead of his heart and a woman who lost herself in love and became its slave. It's wonderfully written and incredibly sentimental and has a HEA! What more do you want?
Love Song is a one-shot consisting of 9,725 words. The story is rated M for lemons and foul language.
