"Outbound" by aftrnoondlight

When a content Bella Swan walks into Breeze with the intent to enjoy a dinner with friends she didn't expect to end the night in a passionate embrace with the restaurant’s owner, Edward Cullen. Bella wakes in a confused haze, checks Edward's blackberry for the time, and is surprised to see a young boy on the screen. Hoping to avoid a more than awkward "morning after", she slips out quickly and heads home. There, Bella lives with her sassy aunt Mary—who is a true believer that the 60’s are the new 40's - and niece Makenna, whose mother is Bella’s estranged sister Emily.

Cut to Edward, who is getting ready for his regular visit to his cancer battling sister Rose and his brother-in-law Emmett, who is struggling to hold everything together. Edward is able to give some comfort in the form of sheet music and piano coaching to his nephew Henry. It is then that Edward and Bella are serendipitously reunited on Eclipse Air flight 841, a nonstop service to New York - the beginning of a powerful romance between the two that remains tight through thick and thin.

Written in both Bella and Edward's POVs, Outbound is the perfect blend of angst and fluff. Aftrnoondlight sets the tone with a passionate first night between Bella and Edward that carries on through to the end—and even in two more outtakes! The conflicts in the story have more to do with family situations than anything else and throughout the story Edward and Bella keep having a strong bond. There is no heavy break-ups to worry about in this fic. It’s a great plot with excellent writing and charismatic characters that keep you invested until the very end.

Outbound consists of 12 chapters and 47,508 words. The story is rated MA for graphic lemons and language.
