Rosalie Hale is convinced that her best friend Bella Swan needs to see more than just the rainy countryside of Forks, Washington, and manages to persuade the young teacher to join her on a safari in African Kenya. No sooner said than done, Bella sits in a lodge in the middle of nowhere and waits... for the rain to stop. Instead of seeing the big five, the two girls are stuck in their rooms for three days, playing Black Jack as torrential rain platters against the windows. Once the weather improves a little the girls get their bags and rush out of the hotel, right into their jeep. Too dumb that hey don't get too far: soon, their car gets stuck in the mud and the only help they have seems to be two complete strangers, one of which has beautiful bronze-like hair...
Red Elephants is a wonderful one shot by a promising author. Amber1983 manages to convincingly describe the living circumstances in Kenya (her own experience helped her a lot with that) as well as the love-at-first-sight experience Bella and Edward go through. The ending is a real tear-jerker, let me tell you, but in a REALLY good way!
