When Bella Swan is informed that she has an irreparable heart defect she believes her life is over. Yet fortunately, the doctors are able to find a donor and successfully transplant a new and healthy heart into her body. Because Bella wants to know more about her donor she is doing some research. She finds out that her new heart once belonged to Maggie Carr, a young woman whose family apparently lived not far from her father Charlie in Forks. Bella doesn't think twice and packs her bags to move to her dad.
Edward Cullen has never been happy his entire life. At the age of 14 and after suffering from hunger, poverty, and parents, who fight more than one addiction, he is adopted by Esme and Carlisle Cullen. Along with his adoptive brothers Emmett and Jasper, Edward moves to Forks, Washington and studies to become a doctor. Yet although the Cullens try to make his life as normal as possible, Edward hardly trusts anyone, refuses to touch others, and hates to be bothered. That changes when Bella Swan walks into his life and starts working for Emmett's garage. Edward wants her, needs her, but refuses to admit it. Convinced he'd hurt her if he got too close, Edward tries to avoid Bella as much as possible. Yet he can't seem to let go of the girl with the big brown eyes...
Dear Maggie is a very emotional and angsty story. Both Edward and Bella are very broken characters as they had to deal with a lot of pain and fear in their lives. Yet while Bella begins to enjoy life, nature, and people even more than before, Edward turns into a brooding, rude, and arrogant young man, who hates himself and the world around him. Bella tries to help Edward as much as possible but can't bring him to see that there are some things worth fighting for in this world and he doesn't have to fight alone. Things get even more complicated when she finds out that Edward is Bella's biological brother!
Dear Maggie is really worth reading, but beware, we're talking angst here!Dear Maggie consists of 40 chapters and a total of 223,361 words. The story is rated M for mature content and thus only suitable for teens over the age of 16.
